ok, off of snacks and back to diet. Too many temptations in the world to be tempted in here too. So I lost nothing this past week. I didn't gain anything, but I didn't lose anything either. The weird thing is my stomach is continuing to get smaller. The gross part about it is that because I lost so quickly in the beginning and have yet to find an appeasing exercise routine, I have this gross, wrinkly skin just hanging there on my body. Sorry for the gross out girls, but it's just disgusting. I did find a work out video that I LOVE. I did it Saturday afternoon. Was going to do it yesterday as well, but Richie was sick. So I will see if I have the energy to do it tonight when I get home. I have to do something to tighten up my skin and get this gross excess off me.

One more reason it's important to exercise during a long diet. Once a large amount of weight is lost, there's only so much slack in our skin we can hope to take up.
If the dieter loses a great deal of weight (such as 100 lb or more) - even if exercise was done - the only thing that can be done with all that extra skin is plastic surgery.

Well fortunately I haven't lost 100 pounds, and it's not really disgusting yet. I have two things in my favor though. I haven't lost so much that it can't be firmed up. I really believe that it can be, with some cardio and training. The other is being 24. Fortunately I am still young enough that my skin will firm up on it's own to some extent. Not alot, but some.

EWWWEEEE! Right out of "Nip & Tuck". Sounds painful. Best of luck to LL and hopefully you can avoid this.

I am so excited you guys!! My plateau finally caved in. Last week I wasn't feeling too good and so a few days I didn't really eat much of anything. When I weighed yesterday morning I had lost 4 pounds!! And have now passed the 40 pound mark by .2 At this point I am now only 4.5 pounds away from my halfway mark. I hope to hit that by the middle of April.

Linney, that's great! Congratulations! I went back to LA Weight Loss since I'd had success with them before. I started their quick-start 2-day plan on Sunday. According to my scale, I have lost 2.6 lb. I report to them tomorrow for my first official weigh-in. Their scale is the one that "counts." But then I can see if my scale coordinates with theirs. Flygirl, in addition to exercise and surgery, it also helps to be young. My skin will probably never contract, not because I'm losing so much weight (only 35 lb), but because I'm relatively older. After age 40, skin begins to lose its elasticity. OK, that's probably all the clinical discussion about skin anyone wants to read. ;D

Hi Tex... i totally agree with you that being younger benefits when it come to skin contract.however Tex if you loose all the weight you want and continue to excersie most of you skin will eventually disappear. My mom(46 years old)lost 40 lbs last year but never stoped to be active and excersise 2 a week and half of her skin is gone .... Tex & Lonney i am pround of you,for keeping up with the program and keeping up the spirit.you are a good example...i lost 15lbs pound since january but only from excercising.i go to fitness club 3-4 times a week. i am not on any diet but i try to eat more healthy. dating a doctor helps a bit... i still have a long way to go.... ;D

Aw, thank you Sylcia for the kind words of encouragement.
I think you're reducing weight in the most healthy way as it sounds like you're focusing on health rather than weight. Right now, I don't exercise enough. It would be in my best interest to increase that by... leaps and bounds...so to speak.
Mr. Syl is a doctor? SWEET!

Wow Tex and Sylcia, you all are both doing great!! I need to start exercising more also. Hopefully when I am finished working at ServiceMaster (I gave my two weeks notice on Monday) I can find some more time in my day. Ofcourse I will have to find something else as well, but I might just go back to delivering pizzas. We will see.
I am so super excited about my plan though and I can really tell that this is the time I'm going to stick it out. Weight Watchers is so easy for me. It really is a lifestyle change. I can't put anything into my mouth without first calculating the points value.

hey everyone. my brain is completely fried. maybe its all this internet searching or my crappy internet searching thats getting no results and causing me much frustration. anyway, im trying to find a website that tells you how many calories, fat, carbs, sugars, proteins etc. you need to lose a steady weight loss ( 1-2 pounds per week ) but i cant find anything. i searched all the fitness sites and they do have a calorie counter but nothing for the other nutritional values. does anyone know of any websites that offer that ( for free of course ) or does anyone know the info??
