I had seen bits and pieces of this movie on cable but never the entire movie in one sitting.
So I just rented the DVD the other day. Am I glad I did. You all are right!
It's hillarious!!!!!!!!!!!
I especially love the "School Spirit" scene with Luke dancing with the other frat brothers. Gotta say I rewinded that scene a couple times just to watch Luke try to dance. Your right he doesn't quite have the rhythm down but he sure looks cute trying.

Salma, You should watch the DVD again with the commentary on. It's almost better than the movie itself!

I don't remember where I read this, but someone was questioning why Luke was wearing a white shirt under his gym outfit in "Old School." Well, I was watching "OS" last night and thought maybe he's wearing the other shirt to cover up the hair on his chest. We also saw him in the bedroom scene without a shirt on--hairless. So, maybe it grew back before they did the scenes in the gym, etc. so instead of having it shaved again, he just covered it up. I apologize if I'm just slow and someone already figured it out. Like I said, I don't remember where this was being discussed and I don't have the time to quickly scan all the posts.
It's amazing what a Wilson fan will think of during a movie! ;D

AAV- A simpler explanation would involve his needing to cover up the "hickey" you gave him the night before!! HT

Hi!! I thought it was really cute that Luke mentioned in the commentary that he was having a really bad time of it when he was filming the scene where NIcole is asking him to look over her lease. It was nice that he shared that with his fans and friends, even though Vince was like, Keep it light, Luke! I hope it wasnt a really really sad thing, but I sure did want to go hug him and tell him that we all love him so much!! Todd Phillips said that he had ot talk to Luke to kind of calm him down, Luke put it that Todd kind of talked him down off the proverbial ledge, and that between every take, Luke was on his cell, talking to someone. I felt bad for him. I didn't notice Luke holding Max's hand at the birthday party, I"ll have to go watch again. Yes, there is something so heartbreakingly sweet about a man and a child. A guy that I know came up to my baby niece last week and just crouched in front of her and said hi to her and just to see that he cared about her made a little lump come in my throat. It's nice to see men be tender!

Angie" That's funny - I like it too when Owen Luke and Andrew get mad. I think it's because even though they do, you know they are going to forgive the person. I always rewind those parts when it happens! We're silly!

I bought the unrated version of the DVD, and recently listened to the commentary.
I loved this commentary - it's the best one I've heard!
I was laughing when Luke was mocking-out his character having to be the straight man, while Vince and Will get to strut their stuff. It was so funny.
I was also cracking-up when they were saying how Luke didn't attend the choreography sessions for the School Spirit section. I never noticed before how out of step he is until I heard the commentary - now it's blatent. Hilarious!
One thing that I'm not so sure about: Does anybody really think that the Floor Excercise bit was meant to be done by anybody other than Will? In the commentary, Todd Phillips mentioned that Luke was supposed to do it, but he refused, so Will stepped in. That had Will written all over it - that part was written for Will IMO.
Either way, it provided a great moment for the commentary - with Luke explaining that he was in a place called "incomunicado". That was too funny!

I finally finished watching Old School Unseen. I had viewed the film a few weeks ago but had'nt got around to watching the extra bits until now. I generally agree with what everyone else has said about Luke in the movie, I think the 3 leads gel together well. Shorty and kevin are a work of pure genius and deserve their own spin off show, all of that stuff was pretty funny I have a couple of questions r.e. the commentary. Do you think Luke was serious when he was going on about being incomunicado....not turning up for dance rehersals, just getting his haircut and wrecking continuity? All of that just reeks of unprofessionalism to me, not really a good advert for future employers eh? Do you think he was method acting and taking the whole Frat thing to far or was it all one big joke? Theatrically trained actors work incredible hard and 99% of the time do everything their director asks of them. The hours they put in pre production and during production are very long. Not to mention technical and dress rehersals which seem to last for an eternity.... Do you think Luke would have the staying power and dedication to do that? I know he's not exactly outa work and needing a theatre job, but as some of his fellow actors (Nicole Kidman, Christian Slater and Mathew Perry) of his are coming over here and cutting there theatrical teeth in front of a British audience...do you think he could do it with that sort of attitude? I'm just curious.....

I think that Luke and Owen and Andrew are incredibly serious and responsible about their craft, while still having lots and lots of fun!!
After all, Luke is mentioned many times as being "one take Wilson". He doesn't believe in wasting time or film or money. and even when he was playing around one time, I think on TWBS, and tossed a cherry bomb thingy at a big dude who subsequently knocked into a camera, causing some damage and time delays, Luke was reported as being 'profusely apologetic'. I"m sorry, don't know for sure what articles these two bits of info are from.
The Wilsons just seem totally like the type of guys who make a fun situation happen just to keep life enjoyable.

Watched this again last night for a much needed laugh- What do you suppose happened to that portrait of Mitch "the godfather" over the mantle at the frat house? Where is that movie treasure now?
Luke's living room? Drowning in the great ebay?-- or rescued and screwed to the bedroom ceiling of one of Luke's camp followers?

I have often wondered that myself, HT! It would look great in a "game room" in Luke's house. But, considering we keep hearing he's still bunking with Owen, who knows where it is! Probably leaning on a wall in the garage or in one of the empty rooms in Luke's house! I did hear that Vince painted the picture you see on the wall when the two naked people jump out of the bathroom. Was that on the commentary or did my sister tell me that?

Vince said that in the commentary. I thought he was kidding though. Who knows? He may paint! The reason that I thought he was kidding was because later on in the commentary he says that he painted/designed Frank's wife's t-shirt (the one she's wearing when Frank is on their driveway working on his car and she brings him lemonade). Vince, a man of many talents. I also loved how Luke and Will would sing along to the music during the commentary. Did you notice that no one said *anything* during the b-job class scene once they started the demonstration. Not a word. Then again, what was left to say? Beth

I'm gonna "headsup" our resident Vince expert. She may know the answer to the painting question.
