YEA!!!!! This is exciting....Thank you Remi for finding this info... Hotdog.... P.S. After I read this from Remi, I checked the local paper and here is a link with a really nice picture of Owen startelegramsports.typepad.com/foul_territory/2009/03/owen-wilson-in-camp.htmlP.S. Again I luv Baseball now I luv it even more!!! ******************** Here is another tidbit on the same story...It made me laugh... Owen Wilson In The Rangers Bullen March 21st, 2009 The Dallas-reared actor is at Rangers camp today researching his role for a movie (please no cheap jokes that it must either be a comedy or a tragedy, oops, dang it.). He is sitting in the Rangers bullpen in a pale blue long-sleeved oxford shirt and a pair of khakis. He is talking with Andy Hawkins, but Josh Rupe is lurking. If a little of Rupe gets into Wilson’s interpretation, I’m sure Southern-Fried hijinks will ensue. Wilson did not address the media. Apparently, he heard that I wanted my money back for You, Me & Dupree. Also, I maintain that Owen Wilson will throw out the first pitch during the next post-season series in Arlington. Unless, of course, Matthew McConaughey suddenly announces an affinity for the Rangers.

Thanks, Iluvtexas. It's always great to see Owen working on a new project. And my hunch is that his career is on the upswing (no pun intended, lol) as he seems to be taking on greater diversity and challenges.
I was puzzled by the reader's comment that "[Owen] doesn't seem all that athletic." (And that is one of the more gentle comments we tend to see in reader's postings). Apparently this reader hasn't been paying attention. Owen is a runner and a cyclist and played on sports teams in high school.

Your most welcome This was in the paper today. Also a video link from a practice....in case your interested. More Owen WilsonActor Owen Wilson was back at work with the Rangers on Sunday, continuing to research his upcoming role as a left-handed reliever in the movie How Do You Know? He participated in some conditioning drills and continued to chat up pitchers in the clubhouse. He said it didn’t take him long to learn that relievers are experts in shooting the bull."I got here yesterday around 9:30, and I guess by 10 a.m. I had it," said Wilson, who listened most to Eddie Guardado and C.J. Wilson. "Those are the two lefties, and I’m a lefty. We’ve got to stick together." startelegramsports.typepad.com/foul_territory/2009/03/owen-wilson-returns-with-videos.html

One more tidbit: This is one paragraph taken from the Texas Rangers "Lone Star Dugout" report.... I thought it was a cute note....the rest of the entry was all about baseball...just in case you want to look it up to read the whole thing. Anywho.... ******************************** Minor League Journal: Posted Mar 23, 2009 The first week of Spring Training games has been interesting for Chris Dennis, as he's pitched in two games and had a couple of celebrity encounters. Lone Star Dugout has the fourth installment of this year's minor league journal with Chris Dennis. After I ate my lunch, I was walking around the clubhouse with my chest poked out like I was somebody because of the Hamilton incident. We still had some time to kill before we went back out onto the field, so we were sitting by our lockers just idly chit-chatting, and a man with longer blond hair and a very recognizable nose walked by. I swear to you, I stopped mid-sentence and asked, “Ummm… is that Owen Wilson?” My teammates were staring at him with their jaws on the ground just like I was so I took that as a yes.
Apparently, Wilson is about to do a movie where he plays a pitcher, and he was in Surprise to research the role. He walked past us and into the equipment room to get some workout gear, and after he did, about thirty guys went to the big caged window to the room to see him for themselves. It was ridiculous how everyone was acting. I can only imagine what would happen if that dude walked through a room full of girls that are our age, because he sure can excite the heck out of 20-24 year old guys.
Josh Lueke was the only one of us brave enough to get his picture with him, and all he got for his trouble was a picture and a locker room full of jealous guys making fun of him. We are a brutal crowd. If you do something bad or stupid, we make fun of you. If you do something good, or the coaches praise you or anything like that, then we make fun of you even more. Pretty much, if you have a pulse and are in the locker room, you probably are gonna hear it from somebody. ***Here is a link to a cute picture of Owen pitching phoenix.fanster.com/2009/03/24/is-the-rangers-bullpen-that-desperate/

I'm looking forward to this one. I'm sure Owen's having fun with the research for this project.
I'm right handed. To keep with the random theme.
