Thanks, Lovene. Looking down the cast list, I see Tara Subkoff is also in this movie. Didn't she used to date Wes Anderson? Or am I hallucinating again?

Thanks again, Lovene. Hey, I just remembered I have a buddy who works at the U.S. Patent Office in D.C. I should ask him if he could mosey over to that area and see if there's anything to be seen.
;D

Thanks for the photos! My, that's quite a grimace Owen is making. Remember dear Owen: lift with the knees, not the back! Are those men's colored shirts with the contrasting white collars & cuffs back in style? Or maybe this movie is supposed to be taking place in the 1980's when that style was popular. I remember reading that Luke was quite enchanted with that "Gordon Gekko" style and had to have such a shirt. When he got one, Luke's brothers made fun of his shirt. ;D

Those are great pics. I am almost positive it has not rained in DC for a few weeks. (anyone?) I have a feeling this was "movie rain" and had to do with the plot. The photographer probably sent them the the paper and they assumed it was raining for real.

Tinalouise, you could be right. I was wondering the same thing. Why would Owen be carrying a platter of what looks like large slabs of meat in the rain ;D - unless he was filming a scene for the movie.
I have a friend in the D.C. area. I could phone him and ask if it has rained in D.C. in the past couple of days. Maybe it has but just not in all areas of the city?

I doubt that if it started raining they would let the stars get soaked like that. Plus picture 2 it is pouring and picture 3 seems to have been taken a few seconds later and there is no rain. I read a lot of Nancy Drew growing up

It could be true that it's fake rain, though in the Washington Post yesterday it said storms were expected again and for today's weather it's rain again and possibly a thunderstorm. In the third picture they're already soaked so it could have stopped. However, I did wonder too if it was a genuine storm why would Owen and Reese still be hanging around completely soaked when they could be sheltering somewhere dry and comfortable.
We'll have to wait and see if it's part of the film and it looks like it could be an enjoyable fluffy film which the cinemas are lacking at the moment.

Well, we don't know how soon after it began to "rain" that photos were started to be taken. And rain can stop suddenly just as it can begin suddenly so just because it doesn't seem to be raining anymore in the last photo doesn't really explain it for me.
I still feel it's probably "movie rain" if only because there's no other explanation I can think of as to why Owen & Reese would be walking in the rain like that, Owen carrying that big platter of....whatever.
Yeah, if this scene shows up in the film, then we'll know for sure....unless it gets deleted. Then we'll never know.
