I ended up seeing "The Village" this past weekend after all. It was pretty good, although I was disappointed with the ending. I thought Ron Howard's daughter did an excellent job.

Does anyone want to see that new movie "Open Water?" I heard it's supposed to be good.

Sooooo....ya work at a movie theater, ay Angie?! Ya know I'm gonna rely on you now for the inside scoop on all new releases, right?!
I bet Tom IS a good bad guy. He's kinna creepy to start with, but lovely to look at. (I have a love/hate relationship with him.) I loved him in "The Last Samurai" and the MI movies. I hate to see his interviews though, his personality annoys me.

Not I - no way jose - no siree bob - nuh uh.
I absolutely cannot see a shark movie. I have this intense fear of sharks - I'm always fearful that I'll dream of them.
I'm going Disney and The Bahamas this fall, and I'll swim with the dolphins, turtles & rays - but I will not go in if there are sharks of any kind - not even harmless kinds. Not happening.

(Tom Cruise) his personality annoys me. Magnetic particles electrically unite in this regard... I have huge problems with his smarmy personna. TC fans will simply have to ignor this post--- I so prefer the genuine bad boy Owen or Luke; they present more honesty- even in their "Playboy Mansion/ Girls Gone Wild" debauchery... at least in my small fan-focused version. Boys Will be Boys after all.

I personally LOVE Tom Cruise..it was just weird seeing him with the gray hair and such. I thought it was a pretty good movie though

Thanks Angie! "Collateral" sounds creepier than "The Village". I might have to see it instead. Be sure to keep us posted as to what's good!
I agree with HT. Tom's "smarmy personna" is a definite turn off. But, it sounds like he puts it to good use in his most recent movie.

"The Village" in my opinion wasnt good at all...I was very dissapointed with it. I saw "The Bourne Supremacy" the other day, and I enjoyed it. I actually like it better than the first one. Also, if anyone wants to see a great love story, go see "The Notebook". I loved that movie so much.

I'll pass your suggestion of "The Notebook" on to my MIL. My sweet Mother-in-Law and I love to see romantic movies together. Isn't that weird?! Maybe not as weird as our husband's preferring to stay at home and watch the sci-fi channel together. ;D
I really had high hopes for "The Village". That's too bad!
I'd love to the "The Bourne Supremacy". But, I'd be lacking a companion to that one.

Hey, I've heard great reviews about Open Water. First, it's a true story. Second, those are real sharks swimming with the actors - not a mechanical shark like in Jaws. Open Water was a very low budget movie and is almost sure to be a hit.
I'm hearing not-so-good reports about The Village from all over. My fave morning radio show was asking listeners to call in and summarize the movie. Nobody seemed to understand what the movie was about. Everyone had a different description of the plot. What a disappointment. The only good thing about The Village everyone agrees about is Bryce Howard.

Yeah, Bryce Howard did an amazing job in the movie, but the movie itself was lacking something...like plot

:oI agree with you guys about Tom Cruise. I like him when he's acting but, he's so cocky when he gets interviewed that it turns me off. He's one of those guys who's much nicer looking with his mouth shut! What about Jouquin(?) Phoenix? I think he is hot enough to make any movie he's in worth seeing. What beautiful eyes he has! Hubba!Hubba!

Oh man! Joaquin Phoenix is so awesome! He was a great bad guy in "Gladiator", and then to turn around and be so sweet in "Signs"....I just think he is so wonderful and very underrated.
