The plot for "Black Christmas" sounds really familiar to me... I remember watching one similar to that but it didn't have anything to do with Christmas... The one I saw I think it was kind of humerous. Does that sound right?
I haven't checked the reviews for "The Village" yet. I didn't know it wasn't getting good ones. That sucks!
Speaking of checking under your bed, has anyone seen "Darkness Falls"?

Oh, I wouldn't hold too much stock in the reviews. Afterall, everyone is a critic! The only difference between them and you & I, is that they get paid for doing it publicly. Hmmmm. That sounds kind of, er - strange, doesn't it? Some of the movies that I really like are rated only one or two stars. So what does that mean? It means that the critics in no way have as good taste as I do!

BP -I heard that the Japanese version of "The Ring" is scarier than the American (?) version. The Japanese one was VERY scary. And I don't get scared easily I was in Japan when the movie came out and my sister saw it on TV before I saw it and I remember hearing her go "AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" in terror, a sort of voice I had not heard her make often, and I went in her room to see what had happened to her After I saw it myself I thought how TVs could look so creepy

After I saw it myself I thought how TVs could look so creepy That's when you throw a Wilson tape in the VCR and WISH for the same fate! ;D

Whoa - if only my TV would spit out a Luke or an Owen. That is so right on, Remi! Yes, if my TV bore a Wilson for me, I probably really would die! Speaking of checking under your bed, I remember checking under my bed for sharks after I saw the first Jaws. I usually sleep with one foot hanging off the side of the bed. I was interested in keeping both feet attached, so I made sure to keep them safely on the bed at all times.

I saw "Darkness Falls". I can't remember, is it the one with the tooth fairy? When I was really little, I saw a movie called "The Screaming Skull". I had nightmares of a skull poping up all over the place for a long time. Another one that gave me nightmares was the Dr. Phibes one in which he poured the syrup on that guys face and the locusts ate the man's face. I'd check the ceiling for holes after seeing that one. When I was in high school, my friends and I went to see a funny movie and as we were coming out, the theatre was seating for another movie so, we just walked in with the crowd. As luck would have it, the movie was "The Changeling". I could have killed them when I found out what I had to sit through. I have 4 sisters, so, I had to get up in the wee hours in the morning to get the bathroom to myself. For several months, I couldn't look at the bathtub while it was filling. I was afraid I'd see that kid banging on the sides of it. One of my friends use to always drag me to horror movies when we were kids. She just loved them. I, however, did not. She couldn't understand how I felt coming home to a big old farmhouse after seeing these movies. Invariably, no one else was home. I'd go through the house and turn on all of the lights but, we had a huge front window in the living room. It never failed that I would go into that room, see my own reflection in that window and scare the holy crap out of myself.

I remember checking under my bed for sharks after I saw the first Jaws. Do you have some kinna crazy water bed? An ocean bed, or aquarium bed? Y'all just need to promise to pass a copy of the tape on to me if any Wilsons pop out! And by all means (and I know this goes against the Wilson fan creed), answer the phone if it rings! bigO (reminds me of 'big un' from SN ;D) - yep, DF is the one with the toothfairy. I haven't seen any of the movies you mentioned, but I can totally relate to scaring yourself with your reflection! I scare myself on a daily basis.

ROTFL. Remi, I've told you I go to extremes! Actually, the bed was an enormous Murphy bed, one of those beds you fold down from the wall. The frame was wooden because it was an antique Murphy. This only adds to the absurdity of looking for sharks under the bed; the bed was a pull-down bed. How could there be ANYTHING under it? Yes, I've been startled by own reflection too. And by my own hair. I was swimming in the Pacific after having grown up swimming in the Great Lakes. There's nothing at all to fear about the Great Lakes - other than the water itself if one is drowning! But I was aware the ocean is home to critters - critters that can harm us! So I was already on guard. I had been swimming underwater when I surfaced to find my head surrounded by an ominous, filamentous long black substance. I didn't know what it was. I started to panic when I discovered it was my own hair! What a doorknob eh? It's so typically Texasgal.

Critters?! I had been swimming underwater when I surfaced to find my head surrounded by an ominous, filamentous long black substance. I didn't know what it was. There was a scary movie awhile back with the very same premise, only it wan't hair, it was some kinna filmy stuff. My hair has scared me as well. I affectionately call it a "scare-do".

Hey Remi--No, there wasn't anything humorous about "Black Christmas." I know there are a lot of movies out there where the killer is calling from inside the house.
Yes, I did see "Darkness Falls." Talk about being scared of the dark . . . and maybe the tooth fairy! I'm glad I didn't see that movie while I was losing my teeth!
Well, my sister and I went to the movies last night. We had to decide between "The Village" and "The Manchurian Candidate." We saw the latter and it was pretty good. We'll save "The Village" for another weekend. Did anyone else see any of these movies this weekend?
I think I posted this once before on the board, but I thought it would be neat if Luke was in some type of thriller where he's saving his family from some evil forces! (Owen, too!)

Remi, I think for some of us the mirror is one of life's crueler inventions. Talk about evil hair, when mine is long I have to put it up when I sleep so it doesn't strangle me. I put it in a pony tail when I swim because, it attacks me just like yours did, tgal. BTW, did your bed go do-do-do-do as it came out of the wall, like in "Foul Play"? I wish a Wilson brother would spit out of my TV. Preferably the one at the foot of my bed. BP, did you see the Japanese movie "The Eye"? It was pretty good. AAV, that sounds like a good movie plot to me but, I think it would be better as a funny horror film.

AAV, I think your idea is classic. How about all 3 Wilson brothers in a scary flick together? Shall we make it a spoof or the real thing?

I saw "The Village" this weekend and thought it was pretty good. I didn't expect much given the mixed reviews that it received, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you liked M. Night Shyamalan's other movies, then you should like this one as well.
