I would like to encourage people to start posting ideas for movies they would like to see Luke star in. Either new movies of a new idea, plot line, etc. Or remakes of old movies.
I posed this same question on another board and would like to try it here.
I don't have an idea for the movie, no existing movie or plot line, just an idea for a role Luke would be great in. That being, Luke playing the part of a rabbi. I know Luke is Irish & Catholic, but I think he could do a masterful job of acting as a rabbi. He would look fantastic and natural in a kippah and tallit.
And wouldn't I just love to be his coach and teach him how to be Jewish! I know he could pull the part off brilliantly!
What are your ideas for Luke? What part would you like to see Luke do?

Now, texasgal, you have just made me realize how limited my imaginations are...because the first two roles I thought of are: 1. Luke playing Owen's brother but not as Wright brothers - something more modern ;D 2. Luke playing a poor guy who's wedding gets crashed by Owen Oh my God I am so boring. But I do want to see Luke playing a rabbi!!! He will look sexy ...Will you Luke fans (I'm of course a Luke fan too but you know what I mean ;D) get angry if I say I want to see Luke playing a father? Has he ever played a role of a father?! I just think Luke will look SEXY doing full-on father things...changing nappies and feeding babies and reading stories to the kiddies in bed Ahhh Luke is SWEET I always thought, seeing his movies like Legally Blonde and Charlie's Angels, that I so much want a sweet boyfriend like Luke. But now I think I want a sweet father like Luke.

Oh YES! I can SO see Luke playing a father. I think it would come very naturally to him too. Same with Owen.
Funny, but I'd like to see Luke & Owen playing fathers more than I want to see them playing husbands!! They both seem to be real naturals for playing a nurturing role like father!
And oh yes - a sexy rabbi. That is TOTALLY possible in real life. And Luke is a TOTALLY believable candidate for the part.

Oh, yes, I would definitely like to see Luke playing a father and devoted husband. Maybe even some type of thriller where he has to save his family. Sexy and heroic!!

Luke saving his family?! That is a GREAT idea!! Heroic Luke!!! Ohhh SEXY I hope he does that sometime! He is young so he can do that role even after 5 years or 10 years or more!! YAY! Someone on this board should write the script!

Luke the hero! I definitely like that idea. Shining armour, noble steed, all my fantasies in one

I'd love to see him tucking his young "movie" daughter into bed and then kissing her on the forehead!
Or, carrying one of his young kids up to bed and they have their arms wrapped around his neck.
What a lucky kid that would be!

*BUMP*
Thought it would be fun to resurrect this thread...
I can see both Luke and hmmmm, not sure if it should be Owen...m'be Andrew... as Biff and Happy Loman in Death of a Salesman...
Christamas themed projects...
Do you think he has the prescence to play George Bailey (James Stewart) in Its A Wonderful Life?
Perhaps Dudley (Cary Grant) from The Bishops Wife?

Do you think he has the prescence to play George Bailey (James Stewart) in Its A Wonderful Life? That role is sacred ground, Furg... Holiday classics make tough remakes simply because they are so steeped in our old holiday traditions. Most do not want that changed. Just a reflection... I would love to see Luke do a Glenn Ford remake. Glenn Ford had a halting delivery style that Luke could emulate so well. It would be wonderful to see him reprise the role that Glenn made famous in The Courtship of Eddie's Father[/b], opposite Shirley Jones as the neighbor. I'd make a great neighbor.... ;DHurlT[/b]

I love The Courtship of Eddie's Father - and just recently saw bits and pieces. I think Luke would be fantastic in that role.
I think Luke would do well in The Bishop's Wife - he's already played a 'man of the cloth'. But can you imagine Luke as an angel? Wasn't Denzel Washington in a remake of this one?

But can you imagine Luke as an angel? Truthfully No- He reminds me more of a young Father Goose[/b] Grant... A genuine Walter Eklund with his grizzled face, week-old beard, slightly hung over and looking at all those little girl refugees like he doesn't know what planet they're from... ( Planet Owen??) Sounds suspiciously similiar to Luke paying a visit to this board... ;DHT

Well, Father Goose was comedy romance. (Would that be romady?) Yeah, I could see Luke as a young Walter Eklund definitely - although he would need to be aged quite a bit more. But with the right kind of makeup and roughening up, Luke might be able to pull it off. Yes, it definitely has potential.
I'd like to see Luke in more westerns too. They could be comedy westerns.
And, as a man of the cloth, as in Soul Survivors, Luke could also be convincing as a rabbi.
