Yes I am very excited. Very excited indeed. That is me doing jumping jacks. ;D That's how excited I am. Now the hard part will be staying with it now that my body is used to it and the weight starts dropping much more slowly.

Okay I need some encouragement now. A few years ago i lost 3 stone and i felt amazing. Unfortunatley it found it's way back to my body. Anyway. I am going to start a diet in the new year. I like to prepare for it. Stock pile my cupboards and all that i do have one problem........ I can't exercise. It's not that i don't like it, i LOVE to dance but i actually can't About 18 months ago i hurt my ankle and i am still waiting for physio so it hurts if i do too much. I really shouldn't let that stop me ha?

Aw, Hutch's,
Don't feel discouraged! It's lovely that you are going to start a diet in the New Year..............stocking the cupboards is an awesome idea.................... and I think you should not start Cold Turkey in the New Year, but ease into your "diet" now............
If you would like some Hard Earned advice...............
Chicken and Fish of any kind in any preparation, Salad (with bacon bits!!) and Fruit, Veggies and not too very many carbs (potatoes, rice, bread, pasta) ......... but still enough so you don't feel denied.........is a Verrrry Good way to go...............
Also - eating small amounts about 6 times a day seems like the perfect way to go.............you don't overeat, because you know in about 2 more hours, you can eat again..............and, because of eating this often, you are never Hungry, which is what has always been so hard about "diets"...........The details about this are in this thread somewhere, I think............but I still have the details.................Pancake gave them to me, it's called the 6 Day Mini Diet...............(you get to cheat on the 7th day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) and it's been amazing for me. I will love Pancake forever because of this!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the exercise - what about a stationary bike??? Or real bike?? Also, there are Pilates mat workouts, where you just do floor work, no ankle stress at all. And what about gentle walking??? I take my dog out for walks, and at first we didn't go very far, or very fast, but it Really Does make your legs stronger and burn off some fat.
I hope this helps!!!!! Just remember, there are So Many of us in the same boat with you!!!!! Wouldn't it be nice if we all lived closer???
Take Care!!

Thanks for the tips Wilsonfreak I used to give tips to my cousin after she had her first and she lost all the weight but i couldn't
I love fish and chicken but i don't eat any other meats. All my diets have to be part veggie. I am not a veggie but i can't eat meat. Salad with bacon bits ummm sounds nice
I like the idea of that diet. I will have to find the info in the thread. If i had room for an exercise bike i would get one but biking is a good idea. My dad was going to sell my mums bike but i think i will have it. As for pilates ummm........good idea. I am grateful for this ideas. I must have been having a dumb moment.
Thanks again. I will update people

hey everyone. i weighed in at weight watchers today and i am not happy. i mean they say i lost .8 but what the hell does that mean. i mean if someone tells u how much they weigh they dont say 130.7 so im a little upset about it. i mean my gym finally opened this past monday so i worked out 2 days in a row and i tracked all my points and i even saved quite a few.i think i had like 14-20 points saved plus the 35 that im allowed to have during the week. i am in such disbelief that i didnt lose. does anyone have insight about why? maybe its b/c i was working out...? but it should be the opposite...no?

Pancake, I am sure it was because you were at the gym. I am doing weight watchers as well. I was dissapointed because my body is used to it now so the last week I weighed, I had only lost 1/2 a pound. I have decided that since my body will lose it more slowly now, I am going to back off my weighing, and only do it once every two weeks. That way I shouldn't get too discouraged. The biggest problem I run into is motivation to exercise. I am always busy as it is and feel like I can't find any more time in my day. The evenings when I'm not running around, I don't feel like doing it, because I am exhausted.
The sad thing is I always feel so much better after I exercise. I just can't make myself get up and do it.

Pancake, I agree with Looney.
Sometimes our workouts don't show up on the scale as soon as we complete our circuits or when we wish they would. But they will show up eventually. Just keep up the good work, and don't forget to drink plenty of water too - if you aren't already.

Pancake, my sister lost 3 stones on WW. Her weight was slow to come of initially because she was saving points. She was told to use ALL her points especially since she was exercising, to help with the chemical reaction/metabolism process that results in weight loss. Check this advice out with your WW advisor, hope it helps, good luck.

Dear Pancake,
I've heard only wonderful things about WW........and I think working out does make you gain muscle so that the weight loss doesn't show, but if you use a measuring tape, you'll see you are losing.
Good luck!! And please keep us posted! You can always go back to the 6 day diet!! And it's free!

Ok everybody, after the holidays and my 'break' I am back strong on WW. In the month or so I was off the program I gained three pounds back. I am happy to say however, that last week I lost six. At this point I have lost 26 pounds and a dress size! Fitting into jeans I haven't been able to wear in a year (and they look better now than they did then) is one of the best feelings in the world. The only thing that would feel better would be not fitting into them. (hopefully that will come soon).

well, I like play basketball, not to lose my weight, but I'm fond of it. I love the game when 6 or 10 people play together, lots of laugh and fun!!! and meet friends on the court. that's great!
