Thank you for the second report Linn I once saw in a magazine the inside & outside of the house of Courteney Cox and David Arquette and thought it was just the most beautiful house I had ever seen. Looking forward to the third report

when I found Jackie Chan's star... I walked ALL the way around it to insure that I managed to stand in the exact same spot as Owen had. Linney- I love it. You are so fortunate to have a friend to "take the Wilson tour" with you and have great fun, just like this!! HurlT

Thank you so much for sharing your story, LL. I can't wait for tomorrow's chapter.
What was Johnny Depp's house like? Could you see it or were the walls too high?

Johnny's house was all wood and glass. It had those floor to ceiling windows all around it with just support beams in between. Very interesting looking. Wednesday morning Cher and I got dressed up and headed for Rodeo Drive. We valet parked and hit the shops. It was funny because we kinda cruised into them, and everyone was totally friendly and helpful. They are either genuinely friendly, or Cher and I played our parts well. We went into the Louis Vuitton and I fell totally in love! I already loved LV stuff, but having it right in front of me was just too much. Then we headed over to Niketown and I bought Richie two outfits. Now I can always say that I bought something on Rodeo Drive. ;D We also saw the Regent Beverly Wilshire where Pretty Woman was filmed along with the boutique that she was thrown out of the first day she went shopping. It was definitely an interesting place to be, however, Cher and I felt somewhat inadequate when we went into any of the stores. Almost like we didn't "deserve" to be there. LOL Too much money in one place. After Rodeo Drive we headed back towards Santa Monica. We drove up to Malibu and hung out for a couple hours. Then it was time to head toward the CBS Studios. We got there a few minutes late and were the LAST two people to be admitted to the taping! It was a really cool experience. If any of you watch the show, we were on the episode with Marg Helgenberger (CSI), Rocco Despirito, and Tony Glass. The cool thing about The Late Late Show is that there are only 84 people in the audience so everyone has a really great view. We got there around 4:30 and taping wasn't over until after 7. Most of the time was spent with the comedian who is suppose to warm up the audience. He was soooo funny. Infact, I think that he should have his own show. After the taping we went to this great little Italian place called Mario's. It was wonderful. We tried to stay up long enough to see the Late Late Show, but once again we failed....

That's great!
How tall is Craiggers?? Is he handsome in real life? Does he seem good natured or more like a Diva?
I think the Late Late show comedian is going to one of the acts at the benefit show Owen is hosting this weekend. Not sure though.

Thursday we headed out to Universal Studios. The first thing we did once there was go on the studio tour. It is a 45 minute tour that takes you through Universal's soundstages and back lots. They were filming Meet the Fokkers while we were there, but alas, we didn't see anybody famous. I was excited though because I saw Jerry Orbich's parking space. He is on Law and Order. I thought that was terribly exciting. We also went through their "facades" or fake city that comprises their backlot. We saw "New York" street where scenes from Bruce Almighty were filmed. The "Courthouse" from Back to the Future. "Little Europe" where Sparticus, The Scorpian King, Princess Diaries and History of the World Part I were all filmed. and lots of other really cool stuff. Then we headed to "Mexico". It was used in Big Fat Liar as well as Enrique Iglasias' "Bailamos" video. This is where they show us how they create rain, lightening and thunder for movies. Did you know that in the old days they used to add milk to the water so that it would be more visible?? I thought that was pretty interesting. We continued past that and headed into "Whoville" used in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Right next door to "Whoville" is the "Bates Motel and the Psycho House." However, for me, the very best part was seeing the "Chicken Ranch" used in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. (Texas has a whorehouse in it, Lord have mercy on our souls. ) I believe that about wound up the tour. When we returned to reality, Cher got her picture taken with Patrick and Spongebob. I got my photo with Beetlejuice. It was fabulous except he tried to stick his tongue in my ear! We went to Terminator 3D-TOTALLY AWESOME! and lots of other cool stuff. The highlight however was in the I Love Lucy Tribute. Somebody actually tried to pickpocket Cher while we were meandering through. She looked down and her purse was all the way unzipped and her wallet halfway. Ofcourse it wouldn't have been nearly as funny had they actually gotten Cher's money, but since they didn't, we had a nice laugh. Once we had experienced all there was to Universal Studios we headed over to CityWalk. It is still a part of Universal, it's just shops and eateries. All of the shops are really bright and decorated though. It was really cool. There was a 12 foot King Kong dangling on the side of one building. The Hard Rock Cafe had like a 20 foot guitar outside of it. We ate dinner there and were thrilled to see a full size 1950's convertable turning above the bar. THat was really cool. After dinner we hit up the shops and got LOTS of souveniers for everyone at home. It was great fun.

Friday we didn't do much. We headed up to Malibu. Along the way we passed the houses of Burt Reynolds and Johnny Carson. Then Cher got sick. We spent the next four hours in the hotel room. About mid afternoon she started to feel better so we headed out. We went to the Capital Records tower. (more trivia here-Did you know that the red light on top of the building blinks Hollywood in morse code?). I read that in a book while I was in L.A. We went to dinner out on the strip. Don't remember the name of where we ate though. That evening, since Cher still wasn't feeling super we went to see a movie. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I thought it was wonderful, but then I adore Jim Carrey.

Saturday was by far our busiest day. We started out at the Farmer's Market. Our tour guide told us this was a great place to star gaze, since they have the best produce and meat in town. We spent a couple hours walking around but so noone we recognized. We did see some fabulous stores and whatnots though. From there, we headed downtown. There is a 'railroad' in Los Angeles called Angel's Flight. It's the shortest railroad in the country. It's purpose, when it was built in 1907 was to transport the rich people working downtown up bunkerhill so that they didn't have to walk. It was really really cool, but unfortunately they weren't running it. (When it runs, a round trip ticket is $0.25). We went across the street to the Central Market. This market is primarily for the Hispanic community. In it we found more produce, dead chickens, and a Mariachi band. Strange combination I know. Then we headed up a couple of blocks to see the Historic Theater District. These theaters were all built in the 20's and 30's and their architecture is just amazing. They were stunning, to say the least...but then I love old architecture. Next was Chinatown. We didn't stop, we just rode through but it was really interesting...and ofcourse, when you are driving into Chinatown, who could miss Union Square on your right? That was really really cool. We grabbed some lunch and headed for Silverlake. We kinda just rode through this area for a bit. They have a beautiful resevoiur. Then we headed for Griffith Park. I was dying to go into the Griffith Observatory but when we got to the top of the hill it also was closed due to renovations. I was bummed, but Cher suggested we walk up the trail. Off we set, and boy was I glad. We rounded a bend and there was the most amazing view of the Hollywood sign. It was great! We walked for probably about an hour or so before heading back down. We also saw a little lizard and a hummingbird. I tripped (as usual) and that was how we found the lizard. Now Cher jokes as to whether I was trying to kill the lizard, or the lizard was trying to kill me. By the time we got back down, we decided to head back to Santa Monica since both of us were pretty tired. That night we walked out on the beach and then headed up to the Pier. Since it was Saturday all the street performers were out. That was really funny. There was one guy who was balancing a bike on his head, and juggling, and hula-hooping My only question is: When did this guy realize that he could balance a bike on his head?

Sunday, we started out the day heading for Torrance. I was on a mission to find Torrance High School. This is the school where all the exterior shots were filmed for Beverly Hills 90210. We spent two hours in the car and never were able to find it. I resolved that next time, I would print up directions. That would have been so much easier. Then we headed for Venice. First we stopped by Venice High School, which was used as Rydell High in Grease. That was really pretty cool. Next we parked and hit the Boardwalk. This is another L.A. experience that can't really be put into words. It was just different. I was trying to take everything in but there's no way that you can. The funniest thing was when this guy walked up to us and said "Girls hey girls, best glass pipes you'll find around..18+" Cher just looked at me and I laughed. I explained to her that he was talking about weed. LOL. That was pretty funny. We walked past Muscle Beach, and ofcourse, there were muscle guys out there flexing their stuff. Once we finished at Venice, we headed over to the bluffs in Santa Monica that overlook the beach. (Yes, these are the same bluffs that the pic of Owen and Carolina was taken at. ) It is a really striking photo from there. You have the beach and the ocean, and if you look of to the right, you have the mountains too. It's gorgeous. We spent about an hour or so walking and viewing from the bluffs, then we went down to the beach. We spent the rest of the day at the beach, people watching and working on a tan. It was great. Monday, we were sooo very sad to go. This was by far the best vacation I've ever had.
