Give me about 15-20mins to type this thing up. I want to tell y'all upfront that I didn't get to meet Luke, or get autographs, or any great photos.... BUT it was great experience and well worth the trip!!! And I think you Lukelovers will enjoy what I have to tell. If you're still interested, stay tuned!

My trip started off kinda bad (problems renting a car, and I cut my finger and was bleeding everywhere). Nonetheless, I forged on. Things quickly took a positive turn. My rental was upgraded to a sporty mini SUV -- fun! I was about an hour late hitting the road. I was really concerned about the wind advisories we had yesterday. I was worried the boys wouldn't be able to make it in. I arrived in Charlottesville an hour behind schedule but within seconds of when another board member arrived! This was getting better. Things seemed to be falling into place. I was still convinced we were too late to even have a chance of getting tix, but was still hopeful of at least getting to see the boys. We arrived at the theater (which was downstairs and had NO cell service), and, channeling Natalie here, walked to the will call table and stated my business. We were told that there was a slight posibility that they would release about 20 tix and if we would please get in line behind the FOUR (not four hunded) people in front of us! The area we were in was long and about 15-20 wide. If the boys came in, we would definitely be up close and personal. There were a couple security guards there which I formulated must be there because the boys would be coming in through there. After about an hour of juggling my camera and Bottle Rocket DVD cover, and the rest of my crap, I channeled Natalie once again and walked over to one of the ticket ladies and asked them if the boys were coming in through there or not. I don't consider myself a threat, and I quickly realized that I had asked a very sensitive question. I was given a muddled response and took my place back in line hoping the security guys weren't alerted. ;D We then overheard that Owen wasn't going to make it there. I heard that "he wouldn't get off the plane", and my partner heard "he didn't get off the plane". We both agreed that he probably had a really good time in Vail the night before. ;D So, the pressure was off of me... and my hairdo was blown all to pieces anyways, so it was just as well. At 6:00, after watching all the ticketholders walk into the theater, a man came out offering ONE ticket. I turned him down, 'cause we needed two, and scolded myself for my cohert for not giving her the ticket because she had travelled much further than me. She was very forgiving and reassured me that we would get in.... and she was right!!!

Channeling "me"! So does that mean that behaving like me means asking sensitive questions to the ticket ladies? Just kidding!

We got our tix and were told and walked in to a almost completely packed theater. I tried to find two seats together and I asked several people before walking to the very back row of the middle section where it looked like we had a couple seats together. I asked a nice gentleman if the two seats on the other side of and the one seat next to him were taken. He said they were reserved eventhough they weren't taped off, he was certain they should have been. So we went on our merry way and finally found three empty seats about four rows from the back of the theater on the right side (you'll see why I had to go into such detail... trust me!). Richard Herskowitz, Director of The Virginia Film Festival came out and announced that Andrew wouldn't be there and that he was "walking the grounds" and would hopefully make it during the movie and/or the Q&A which was to follow. He then said that flash photography wouldn't be allowed. Crap!! Then, he introduced LUKE!!! He was so cute. He said a few things, while I was trying to figure out how the hell to turn the flash off of my camera, and I caught when he nervously said "it's supposed to be a comedy." Everyone laughed. Much to my delight, he then walked up our side of the theater, past us, with his head sorta down, and took his seat...... THE VERY SEATS WE WERE TRYING TO SIT IN in the back ROW!!! And that nice gentleman, I found out later, was the producer of Sling Blade (and other movies, but that's the only one I remember). The lights dimmed, and I found it very disconcerting that Luke was behind us and kept thinking that Andrew would slip in at any moment. I really just wanted to LOOK at Luke. It was hard, but I restrained myself and tried to concentrate on his movie instead. (Nat, Lib and Tex covered the movie so well, that I'm just gonna add some other little details here.) If this movie makes it to the theaters.... you Lukelovers will not be disappointed!! There are so many gorgeous close ups of Luke's face!! It's screencap heaven!! And you Owenlovers, you won't be disappointed either! Owen's hair is beautiful, and the moustache and go-ty (I don't know how to spell that ) are such......yummy touches IMO. All in all, I thought it was a pretty good movie. But, like I said, it was hard to concentrate with Luke right behind us. I enjoyed it very much, though. The use of light and dark, and shadows was very interesting and some shots were breathtaking. And the music was outstanding!! Edit - The audience really enjoyed the movie as well. Lots of laughter. When the movie ended, there was a round of applause, and after the credits were done, there was another one. *I have to leave for an hour or so. I'll post about the Q&A when I return. I'm really not trying to keep y'all in suspense here.... really!
