the soundtrack to the film was PHENOMENAL it was actually a character in itself if you ask me i am so happy that they got to meet ALL the wilsons brother (the dog) was staying in the same hotel as me
i hope this film gets picked up it was trully a great story and wonderful film there were a lot of beautiful shots (the airplane shots and the very opening shot of "wendell" sitting up in bed..i almost passed out from how beautiful luke's face looked in that shot) it was truly an amazing experience all in all. (i hope the soundtrack is made available to buy on its own..the music was very Wes like) ciao

I have so much to say to you guys! But I need to get my mind around it first. Most importantly -- I so enjoyed meeting Natalie, her brother, T-Gal, Gretchen and Penelopep. Great group of people. Secondly, the movie blew me away! On the plane I wrote up some notes which I will share later. My husband who is a hard sell, really liked it as well. I've likened it to Preston Sturges' and Frank Capra's films crossed with 70's films like Sugarland Express, Smile and Melvin and Howard. It's a morality story. So well written and executed. We were actually surprised at how original it was. (Which is saying a lot today!) Yay Luke!! Thirdly, I was pleasantly reassured at what a wonderful family the Wilson's are. So accessible and curteous. Luke was so nervous -- and he had no reason to be! I wish all of you could have been there. It was overwhelming! Oh and the soundtrack -- my favorite part. I have to tell you I was freakin' blown away! I have it on excellent authority that they are working on releasing it soon. Penelopep was right -- the soundtrack was almost a third character. Just to mention a few names. Bob Dylan (rare tracks - granted as a favor to Luke from Dylan!) Hank Williams Kris Kristopherson Billy Joe Shaver Harry Dean Stanton Waylon Jennings Heavy 70's feel -- Apparently Luke was listening to these tracks while writing the film. Harry Dean Stanton sings or serenades through out the film -- very moving flourish that gave a special resonance to his character.

Welcome back Lib and Penny I'm sooo glad that you guys had a great time in Austin! I'm still pinching myself that you actually met the whole bunch. We've all been waiting for your stories, since TG and Gretchen's stories were so amazing. The worst part of not being there is having to wait to see TWBS, which I knew it would be great anyway, coming from Luke's mind and all. Hope to hear from you gals soon...

Another couple of questions: What was the soundtrack to the film like? How tall are our boys , really? Edited to add: What were your fellow Wilsonettes like, did they resemble their on screen personas in any way? How much fun did you have in each others company? Soundtrack = amazing! I answered somewhere else about how tall they were. Andrew and Luke are quite tall. 6 feet I think, Andrew maybe a bit more. Owen is pretty tiny. I don't think he's that much taller than me... I had a great time with the other girls! And when you ask "What were your fellow Wilsonettes like, did they resemble their on screen personas in any way?" well, that depends on how you guys perceive me on this board.

Thank you to all for sharing so much with everyone here. You have given considerable insight and detail to a great event in your life and that of the Wilsons. What an exceptional experience to treasure...
I hope that TWBS finds a company to release it and the rest of us can share your exuberance about the film in the future. It has been absolutely wonderful reading the positive reviews and hearing about the advance anxiety. Luke Wilson must be sleeping much better these days after the stress...
or was that your doing Natalie?? ;D HurlT

Luke Wilson must be sleeping much better these days after the stress... or was that your doing Natalie?? ;D HurlT *cough* No comment. *cough* Just kidding. No, seriously, I think Luke realized what a great movie he has on his hands - he was very much relaxed and happy on Saturday - quite a change from Friday. You could just see the stress on his face before the premiere.
