#wow# High praise indeed, now how does one find out about a UK release? Just what I was wondering too, Furg. By the way, thanks for the article Librarian. Hello and Welcome to you Tess.

If Idiocracy is still playing next week, TexasGal and I are going to see it at the Alamo Draft House in Austin. Yay! The more I read about this film the more excited I get. I can't wait to see Andrew in his "Break Out" role! And of course Luke... ;D Another interesting read: www.mcnblogs.com/mcindie/It currently has at 71% rating on Rottentomatoes! Not a bad sign. Out of 14 reviews, 10 are positive!

Great article, Lib. Thanks for posting it. I can't wait for our Wilson-fest: dinner at Guero's, then Idiocracy!

Thanks texasgal and Librarian. I'll look forward to reading all about your "Wilson-fest". Librarian, thanks for the link, but it wouldn't play on my ancient PC. Nevermind.

Yeah, I was in Austin yesterday afternoon for a portrait workshop. I took a "practice" drive by the Austin Draft House just to make sure where it is. I was so happy to see Idiocracy on the marquee that I almost stopped to see the movie then. But I'm saving it to enjoy with Librarian. These things are best when shared.

Hi everyone! I'm a longtime lurker (sorry) but finally decided to post... I live in Austin and was able to see Idiocracy on opening day - unfortunately there were only 3 people in the theater. It's such a shame that this movie got dumped while others like Beerfest get good marketing. I guess the big companies didn't care for Mike Judge naming names this time instead of making up restaurants like "Chotchkie's." Regardless, it's clever, funny, and certainly worth a see or DVD purchase. As for the humor, yes, it is crude, but it definitely serves a purpose...plus, who can't laugh at the occasional potty joke? Andrew is absolutely hilarious as "Beef Supreme," but I wish he would have had more screen time. Texasgal and Librarian: Have fun at the Alamo Drafthouse, they are the greatest places to see movies, so much fun (and I'm glad the movie is still showing there). I am now a senior at UT and I remember when this movie was being shot during my FRESHMAN year. Sorry Mike Judge and Luke, you guys got screwed on this one.
