There was a little celebrity notes piece in the Desert Sun and they had this little bit with Luke
What’s with all the people: Actor Luke Wilson said he has been playing golf for 22 years, since he was 10.
He has also played in the pro-am in the Mercedes in Hawaii, but playing in the Classic is a little foreign to him.
"I’m not used to this. I’m used to going out and not having anyone around," Wilson said. "When I play. I’ll be nervous to hit it off the front tee, but we’ll see what happens."
What happened to Wilson when he played the Mercedes?
"Nothing special, but I didn’t totally embarrass myself," Wilson said.
Wilson said he’s looking forward to the event and watching the pros.
"It helps me to see how smooth these guys are when they hit the ball," Wilson said.
Wendall Baker: Wilson recently completed the first movie he’s written and directed called, "Wendall Baker," a comedy about a con man.
Wilson said he aspires to write more screenplays.
"When you’re an actor, you have a lot of time to do something like that," Wilson said.
As for the directing, Wilson said, "It was all good. It went well. I got to work with some good actors."
One of those actors was brother Owen Wilson, who also co-wrote the movie.
Owen Wilson wrote "Rushmore," "The Royal Tenenbaums," and "Bottle Rockets," all of which Luke Wilson starred in.
I have heard that Owen co-wrote TWBS and I have heard that he didn't - I wonder if this clears that up - as I would think this piece would have been cleared through Luke's publicist if not Luke himself - so it should be accurate right? I think it would be kinda nice if they wrote it together - anyway ;D
Poor Luke, I would be terrified hitting off the front tee with a huge crowd - I'd prolly miss completely Hope he's going well out there! Hope he wasn't too far north of +9
Here's a pic taken at the golf
On Edit: Ok here are the standings after round 1
