I found the trailer for the movie www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hdW_b6M6bMIts looks cute. Seems like Owen brings alot of "Owenness" to the role...if that makes any sense ;D And also here's an adorable photo of him with the kids!

'-ness'! can you tell I just watched Dupree again last night?! I saw the trailer, it sounds cool... and luckily for me, the movie comes out in cinemas in the UK just 1 week after it comes out in the US, so I don't have to wait too long. Its out on 28th March 08 I believe (21st March for the US... I think thats it, or see imdb.com it says there) Cute pics; is his hat a pirates hat? or am I just seeing things?! lol loving the smile! thanks for posting edit:- ok maybe not a pirates hat but it looks like its a hat with two key symbols on it or something?

Yes, Drillbit opens in US in March. Not sure of the date, but 21st could be right.
Lom, I believe the hat Owen is wearing is a 19th century U.S. cavalry hat. That's what it looks like to me, especially in other photos where I can see it better.

It reminded me of the kind of hat the Rough Riders would have worn during the Spanish American war...but a different color.

Mixedberry, that's a very good guess. I checked it out, and it appears that Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Rider hats were khaki, not navy blue.
I've searched for what Drillbit's hat might be by searching under "historical hats of u.s. army." A lot of material appears, but I still can't pinpoint Drillbit's hat. The sites that offer different styles for sale don't sell them with the crossed-swords insignia that Drillbit's hat has. (I think they're crossed-swords) which makes me think they are Cavalry or Civil War-era army hats.
I feel like I'm on a mission now so I'll keep checking as time permits. (I'm at work, lol).

I found this site of hat-manufacturer, Stetson. They have Cavalry hats you can buy. The hats also come with crossed-swords insignia and, I think, I saw crossed-rifles insignia too: www.cavhooah.com/stetson_gear.htm
