Been offline for a few days. Returned to find one nice pm in my Inbox and one piece of hate mail in my Inbox. Interesting contrast.
Thanks for all your comments, and for continuing the discussion.
Interesting that the Texasgal-hater lacked the balls to post publicly like the rest of you. Since I do have courage, I'll respond:
Yes, I have a life. I work a full-time professional job in medical diagnostics. Very stressful work. I come here as a way to decompress. Sorry that seems to bother you.
Yes, I did receive a letter from Mrs. Wilson thanking me for paintings I had sent to her. Do not misquote me. I never said Mrs. Wilson was flattered. I said I was flattered to receive a letter from her. (Some friendly advice: If you're going to use somebody's words against them, be sure to quote them correctly. If you don't, you look like a fool). In addition, I'd xerox Mrs Wilson's letter and send the copy to you to prove its existence but I don't think you'd like to send me your address, would you?
I bet anything other people have sent paintings and gifts to not only the Wilson guys but the Wilson parents. Maybe to you that's creepy but that's your opinion. I enjoy painting portraits and have sold a few. Maybe that bothers you but portrait painters have been around for centuries. Take a class in Art History.
I like having good relationships with people, including the people here. It's in my nature to apologize to people if I have insulted or offended them unjustly. I thought it was just good manners. Maybe manners are something you've never been taught.
No, I have not "threatened" to leave 30 times. Probably more like 3. Learn arithmetic. And how would my departure be a "threat"? To threaten involves menacing harm or danger. Do you think I am so important that my departure would bring harm to anyone here? You flatter me. Furthermore, I'm not looking for "good words," I'm interested in keeping peace. It seems like you could learn some peace-keeping strategies yourself.
Maybe the others here are saying nice things to me just to be nice. True, that's a possibility. But if they didn't want to write nice things about me here, they'd either not post anything at all or they'd send me hate mail like yours. But yours is the only one I've received. Not saying I won't get another, just that I haven't yet.
As for your comment about my being "spineless," if I listed all the multiple times in my life when I was gutsy and bold - even downright brash - you wouldn't believe me anyway. I'd be wasting my time.
I apologize for offending you by posting a note about being depressed and phoning Suicide Prevention. I did NOT attempt suicide; I phoned Suicide Prevention. There is a difference between attempting suicide and making a phone call.
Oh but wait! You indicated that you hate it when I apologize so consider all my apologies revoked. And thanks for ending your note with the "my dear." That was such a nice touch. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
;D
Lastly, thanks for your input. Nice of you to take the time to share your feelings with me. And if my postings bother you, don't read them.
Finally, back to MARMADUKE!
Too bad I didn't get to see it this weekend after all. Appreciate your reviews. I've seen bits of trailers for it on TV. Hate to say it but the part with all the dogs dancing in formation is a bit too much for me. I hope there aren't too many sequences like that. If there are more scenes that adults can enjoy, that would be great. Looking forward to seeing it asap.
