I'm not sure what your point is here...
Well, you've been "nostalgic" then about several aspects of Owen's (and Luke's) life and career. #rolleyes# You've used the word "worried" in this very thread, as well as other threads. You've also expressed this in this thread "What really frighten me is that movie makers can have lost faith in him, also his long time friends Wes and Ben, as actor or writer."
It's obvious that you visit other websites... have you not noticed that people say that Owen and Ben are ALWAYS in the same movies? It's an exaggeration of course, but people do get tired of the same actors being in the same movies together over and over again, whether they are sequels or not.
Since we've found out recently that Owen and Luke have in fact signed on with new projects (which was a previous, more recent concern of yours), you've gone back hypothesizing about the cause of his "mental breakdown". #raisedbrow# You've mentioned before that you don't like when the tabloids and media call Owen "troubled", etc. If you take a look around this board, you're the only one that consistently brings the "incident" back into the discussion again on this board. Most of us have moved on and look forward to whatever the boys have in store for us. I just don't see the point in dwelling on the past. Not when we have so much to be thankful for and look forward to!
You have a right to your opinion, but try to keep in mind that you have no idea what is going on in their personal lives or careers, and neither do we until we read about it. And I honestly think that, unfortunately, you read too much into the articles you do read.

The articles I read were old OWEN interviews (not gossip or similar, but O. words) I have on my PC, maybe I was too ambitious to read ubder the lines. Anyway I don't want to find a reason for last events or I don't wanna speculate on them, but speaking only in terms of numbers if O. was in 8 Ben Stiller movies and now he's no more or if he was in every Wes movie (as actor or writer) and in his last two projects he's missing, should there be a reason? Answering to another question, yeah, I often saw O. name associated to Ben Stiller, but only here this was called "boring", for me the couple wasn't boring at all because they played in different kind of films, i want remark this. And I don't think It's my fault if if Ben is cold about new collaborations with O. in a TV press conference in my country (meanwhile he has signed for anew comedy, sort of buddy movie with RDJ) and aren't you nostalgic when you see Ben and O. old TV sketches or do you prefer to know O. is hidden and repeat forever "I hope he's healthy"? Surely there are also things i don't want to see anymore like gossip on KH relationship or similar.
About my worries: my big worry is that movie industry want O. to "pay" for his past depression (for me it's an illness) and discriminate him: as you can see O. presence is doubtful for Cars2, his partecipation in Bruce Willis movie is no more sure and the vampire film is, for now only a rumour. And We can't always say "it's a money problem" : everybody knows he hasn't the cachet of Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, neither of Ben Stiller or Adam Sandler, too....or "it's a routine time work problem" since after MaM he had to shoot only the part for NATM2 (in this month).

As far as Ben and Will's comments go, The Tribute's Rick Duran has phrased it perfectly. I share the same views. The Frat Pack Tribute

Thanks Peace! I agree it was probably originally calculated to further eachother's career at the time, but there was never a contract to keep doing so. I think the Pack (and friends) will just keep getting larger, which is a great thing!

Yes it is! In the '90's we got Owen, Will, Ben and these handful of actors but in this decade, so much more talent has come up. The universe is expanding. Thats great!

think that Ben & Owen are still close friends. Not as close as before, though, because each of them has achieved an incredible amount of fame, and that changes things for better or for worse. I think they will always be buds, though. Owen wasn't fired from TT, he and Ben decided it wasn't going to work. I for one am glad that Owen recognized he couldn't continue to work at that time & decided not to push himself. Also, I think it was better off for Owen, because overall, TT was mean spirited and Owen was not tainted with that. So it worked out as an advantage for him.
I think Hollywood is a crazy place, and it's very hard to maintain relationships there. Everything comes down to a bottom line. And the bottom line is, Ben has to *pay* for Owen now. In the past, it was not so difficult to cast him, because Owen did not have clout to demand high pay. Now he does. (Ditto with VV) So Ben is not going to be using him, he's going to be using guys who he can afford. He can afford Downey because Downey has screwed up so much in the past he is cheaper to get now.
In a way, I feel bad for Downey because he has been in Hollywood for years, but is not getting a huge salary because of his problem. His salary is partly withheld and there are insurance concerns, so he is really getting just a fraction of what he should. He is really getting raped over Iron Man, it was so successful, and I don't think he really made out all that well on it. Hopefully in the future he will get more (because Hollywood is getting so much out of him for so little in return). But I don't see Downey becoming one of the Frat Pack. First of all, he's from the Brat Pack. And he can't change that. Plus, he's just not really into comedic fare. So he might hook up & do some things with them, but I just don't see him doing a full feature with them.
If you really feel strongly about Ben though, do what I do: ban his movies. Don't see them. That's what I did to Angelina Jolie & Bradd Pitt and if you look at Box Office Mojo, I think a lot of audience members did what I did: they just didn't see their movies anymore. Then they pull in less money, it's harder for them to get other projects, etc.
I plan to see the movies that Ben has Owen in, but I will not see any just of Ben or of Ben with other Frat members. I don't like the fact that his last movie was so vulgar & he seems to be going in a completely different direction.
I plan to support Owen and see every movie he's in and buy all of his DVD's. (and Luke) That's all I can do to say that I support him. As for Ben, I'll let other people buy tickets to his movies & buy his DVD's. He won't get my money, not if he continues this way. I won't even rent Heartbreak Kid.
Believe me, the box office dictates what people want to see, and if Ben doesn't pull in money....he might go back to putting Owen in his movies.
The only thing you can do is appreciate the past and buy those movies and support the person in the future. The more you see their movies, the more money they pull in, the more projects they get offered. It's totally financial.
Honestly, though, if it means Owen's health, I would rather just see him quit for good and live the rest of his life stress free. I never want to see him in a bad situation again. It's not worth it. He's a millionaire in his own right, and I would be pleased if he quit & lived out the rest of his life quietly in Texas with his family. I would rather see that than have *anything* happen to him (or any of the Wilson brothers).
One thing I do know, though. The frat pack will always be around. I mean, Owen is Exec. Producer on a Jack Black film, and they haven't appeared in any movies together !!
So I think they are still patting each other on the back & doing favors for each other. It may not be in the same capacity it was, but it still appears that they have each other's back.
Also, I think they are all highly aware that there are huge 'frat pack' fans and these are the people who see their movies, rent & buy thier dvds, and how they get the big paychecks. So it pays off for them to continue using each other in their films.
But Ferrell has got to get rid of the vulgarity. I need a pg film from him!
