Texasgal I don't know who think Owen-Luke careers have finished, sadly they have suffered because of the tragic last year event (then for Luke there were other troubles like the failure Of Dallas production). I think they need a sort of "friend help" for their improvement: I hope to see Owen in a buddy movie or a movie where he has a great part with Ben Stiller (I discovered he partially lives in Hawaii too) and in a movie written with Wes Anderson; Luke in a choral movie like he was in Family Stone or Old School (even if genres were different). Projects to begin in 2 years.

Last August was a year ago. Most people's attention spans are shorter. We just remember it because we're fans. It looks to me like Owen is fine. According to People mag, he was spotted in a skybox at a Las Vegas nightclub Aug 22, alone, but smiling and waving to fans. So he's back on the mainland from Hawaii - maybe for work?
Luke seems to be launching a writing career. As for Dallas, I think it speaks well of him that he dropped out of that. TV shows morphing into movies have an abysmal track record for success so it was a good career move for Luke to disengage from Dallas.
I don't see either Owen or Luke as being friendless at all. They have lots of friends and friends in high places.

Sex and the city was successful, also our "starsky and hutch" - Luke dropped out because production was a disaster and he simply followed other main actors, but I think it should be his main project for this year. Was Owen in Dallas? Nice and sweet because Andrew and mummy have birthday in this period!

Sex & The City and Starsky & Hutch are the exceptions. Most TV-to-film adaptations have not been very successful.
Whatever the reason was that Luke dropped out of Dallas, it was probably a good career move that he did. I had a hunch that movie would not do well had it been made, and I think most of the Wilsonettes here agree with me about Luke not doing that movie.
I hadn't heard Owen was in Dallas but it would have been nice if he had been for his mother's birthday. August 22 was Andrew's BD; maybe they both got together in Vegas to celebrate it.

What do you thinks of the words of Will Ferrell "Thankfully Frat Pack is almost dead" ( irish article posted at Vince Vaughn site) and Ben Stiller declarations on a UK radio " Frat Pack has never existed, it only rhyme nice" and being sick of the nickname (posted at DigitalSpy and others)?
For me It means stop of collaborations among supposed members, for the future I can imagine only Vince in a movie with Wilson bros, I guess Ferrell and Ben Stiller (very sadly) collaborations with O. and Luke belong to past. I can't really imagine who will be with O. in the vampire movie, my choice is for Luke, But I guess he would an nearly unknown name.

I can't really imagine who will be with O. in the vampire movie, my choice is for Luke, But I guess he would an nearly unknown name. First of all, I think it's a good bet that Will Ferrell was kidding. Secondly, you have to remember that "Frat Pack" was coined by the media in the first place. It wasn't something that these guys intended on doing. They just enjoyed working together. I don't think it's wise for actors to work with the same actors all the time - it gets really old (at least for this fan). It's unreasonable for us to think that these guys should always remain the best of friends (if they were even best of friends to start with - we only know what the media tells us and half of that probably isn't accurate - it could also be what the actors want us to think ). Have you always had the same friends? Have you always worked with the same people? Are you as close to your family as you were when you were younger? People move on and things change. It's not always because of some "drama" or hurt feelings or something horrible. Sometimes it's just life. You can either accept it an move forward, or worry yourself sick about it. I've moved forward. While I think it's ok to wish and hope to see them together in the future, I don't think it's helpful at all to be worried about and searching for every possible reason why they are not working together.

I actually think that the state of celebrity and gains of each member put them far from other. Besides, apart from great productions where some of them accept little but significant roles (I mean for example Vince in Into the Wild), they are always protagonist. What makes me nostalgic (not worried) is the "break" (hope not to be misunderstood) between O. and Ben, as we know, no more projects together (neither official neither rumored), Owen filming his part for NATM2 while Ben in Europe, and before O. incident (so I guess all this started before Aug 07) the fact they didn't see each other on NATM set or the small part deserved to O. in TT, or no O. promotion together with Ben for NATM. And we can't say they weren't no more public together only because of work. I can't see the couple becoming boring because together they were involved in drama (Permanent Midnight), family trouble comedy (Meet the parents), buddy movie (Starsky and Hutch and someway Zoolander), visionary comedy (Tenenbaum), not in Starsky and Hutch 1, 2,3,4,5... Besides they showed affection talking of each other (remember the famous O.letter defending Ben acting) , they said they used to go out together, ... yeah, I change friends and collegues during my life, but losing them was sometimes easy sometimes not, expecially when you know them for many years. Generally speaking, for me, reading or watching a lot of past O. interviews and Wes or Luke or Ben interviews , the breakaway of some solid bonds (camaradie with Ben, writing with college friend Wes, living with his brothers), trying to substitute them with new wrong friends, with parties, with strippers, and also KH, was mainly the cause of O. mental breakdown. yeah, for me it could be healthy for him writing with Wes or acting with Luke or Ben.

I don't think we've seen the last of Owen and Ben. I think that maybe they are just waiting for the right script and opportunity to come along. I wouldn't want to see them together in just anything. I want it to be great, as in their past projects.

Hansel, you seem to be privy to information I don't have. How do you know there has been a "breakaway of some solid bonds (camaradie with Ben, writing with college friend Wes, living with his brothers), trying to substitute them with new wrong friends, with parties, with strippers, and also KH, was mainly the cause of O. mental breakdown. yeah, for me it could be healthy for him writing with Wes or acting with Luke or Ben." Have you read or heard the principle characters confirm your ideas in your above statement? Have you read or heard Owen state what caused his "mental breakdown"? It seems like that would be big news that would have been published in many different publications. I've not seen anything to the effect that he has made any statements referencing the "incident." I've been taken to task before for wanting to see supporting evidence for people's opinions but, even so, I'd like to see the evidence you have. Would you please be so kind as to supply it? Yes, it would be good for me if Owen & Wes would write together again, and it would be good for me to see Owen & Luke acting together again. But whether it's good or not for them is their decision. As for the so-called "frat pack" (an ill-chosen title, I'd add, as the members are all in their late 30's), I'm not as obsessed about them as others are. Whether they continue to make movies together or not - and even if they're friends with each other or not - doesn't concern me at all like it does others. That they're happy and successful is the important thing.
