I know what you mean about looking at Owen's pics and not wanting to look at his pics out of respect to his wishes. It's a tough call. When I see pics & videos where he's looking right at the camera, I feel like a voyeur.
I don't know about stories from "close family friends." The only "close" friend of Owen that I've heard from is Wes Anderson, and he revealed as little as possible. What he did say, I have no way of knowing it was true or "sugar-coated" to protect Owen.
As for Owen telling "all," it's a given that we won't ever know if he's really telling all. He'll only tell as much as he wants to reveal or tell us something else to protect his privacy. Whatever, it's his business to reveal or protect as he sees fit.

I know we may never know what happened and even if he does say something about it the papers can write whatever they want you to believe. I know what you mean about gravitating toward him. I use him as my stress reliever and have for a long time. When I heard about what happened it made me deal with my brother's "suicide" attempt. I was 9 and never really got it. Even getting older I still don't get, but I know he wasn't doing drugs. He was just unhappy. I see a lot of my brother in Owen. Lom it's ok to be curious. I feel guilty sometimes even looking at pictures of him because he wants his privacy, but there are pics on the net. I'm sorry to hear about your brother #hug# yeah I know he doesn't want there to be any photos or anything from that time but of course papparazzi's (sp?) still did it... I'd be mortified if there were photos of me at my worst time in the papers. How embarrassing but its part of the price you pay for fame I guess... releasing statements like he did, rarely equate to the press or whoever actually leaving them alone. Its a real shame. It feels almost like voyeurism (sp?) or something wanting to see such pictures I don't know but as a fan, I guess you want to understand whats going on and feel like you can see whats going on and feel like your being there for them or some weird thing, which obviously isn't true by just seeing pictures. I don't know, its strange... and I dunno if I make any sense lol im being all philosohpical now I guess... I did avoid looking at some pics though but I did end up seeing a couple, it looked like he was really hiding from the cameras when moving from the hospital I do wish the papparazzi's would leave people alone at such times for privacy really!

this site is saying that Owen is planning to work with Vince again.. That would be great!! www.journalnow.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WSJ%2FMGArticle%2FWSJ_RelishArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173354594711&path=!entertainment!general!&s=1037645508970 . How is actor Owen Wilson doing? Is he making movies again? - L.N. A. Wilson seems to be doing well since his suicide attempt last year and is back to at least discussing movie roles. He’s talking with Hank Azaria - who is set to direct a comedy called Outsourced - about re-teaming with his Wedding Crashers co-star Vince Vaughn; and he is tentatively set to co-star with Jennifer Aniston in Marley & Me, which is scheduled to go into production this spring. And he has a completed comedy, Drillbit Taylor, expected out next month.

Yeah but I read here that Outsourced is a movie thats been talked about for years but never seems to actually get anyway (still hasn't been shot/made), so I'll maybe take that with a little scepticism... as in, its possibly quite old info.

That's true, Lom. The first time I heard about Outsourced was on Lou Dobb's news hour on CNN 4 years ago! I was so excited about it I got on here immediately and told everyone about it - although maybe others already knew about it. I thought it was such a great idea for a comedy and such a great plotline for Owen and Vince.
Every once in a blue moon it comes up again but we have yet to see it come to fruition. When it's actually in production and we see photo & text evidence of it materializing, then I'll believe it is being made.

I hope so too, Susan as it's such a great plot for a movie - like Wedding Crashers was. Like WC, it's a plot that's begging to be made into a movie. And with Owen & Vince starring, it would be guaranteed to be a hit, seems to me.

I've got to say, though, I was never all that keen on Wedding Crashers... I don't think its so bad now ive seen it a few times though... but I didn't think much of it the first time round, so to speak (lol) each to their own though

That's OK, Lom. Just because we like/love a certain actor doesn't mean we have to love every movie they're in. And just because you don't like one particular movie your fave actor is in, doesn't mean you don't like him/her anymore. (If that makes any sense).
I just thought the basic plotline of Wedding Crashers was a good idea. It's like: why not? And why hasn't this plot been done before?
Same thing with Outsourced. It just seems to me to be an obvious good choice for a movie plot - so obvious that nobody thought of it - yet.

Yeah you might have thought a film had been made based on the story before but maybe it seemed a little too brazen (sp?) to be done in the past... I don't know. It certainly would be if it were the brides getting laid after the wedding and not by their new husbands lol! I don't think I know the basic story behind the movie but it sounds like it'll be interesting/good

When Lou Dobbs announced Outsourced, he said it was about two American employees (Owen & Vince) who lose their jobs because their jobs have been outsourced to Mexico. So Owen & Vince go to Mexico to try to get their jobs back. That's how Mr. Dobbs explained it and, from the little bit about it that was printed, that seems to be correct.
It made sense that I heard it from Lou Dobbs because that's what Mr. Dobbs reports on daily: the loss of U.S. jobs to cheaper labor and the destruction of the middle class.
Because it's such a sensitive topic felt universally (everyone has been outsourced at some time or knows someone who has), it would certainly be a topical plot. I'd only hope that the public wouldn't be offended by it or see it as ethnically provocative. But now that I mention it, maybe those are the reasons why it hasn't been produced yet. Maybe it's too controversial. Movies are so expensive to make now that nobody wants to take any chances. Not that I blame them.

the thought of wedding crashers (hearing the plot) makes me laugh even after I've seen it. I think it would be so funny to run into real wedding crashers! anyhow.. I think Vince VAughn and Owen toegther are better then Owen and Ben Stiller. Although I really really like Vince Vaughn so that could be a part of it #wink#
