Like you all, I am very glad his friends are coming over to support him. Because we fans can't do anything right now. But it's the right thing, isn't it? Giving him space. I can't wait for him to get better and we can show him our support. But I think our thoughts and love are reaching him already. Humans can feel such stuff, I don't know why but we all can. Beautifully said, Bunny! #hug#

It's a lovely thought, Bunny, as you so well expressed earlier. I hope it really does work that way and that our thoughts, like sound waves, reach Owen's subconscious and he is strengthened by them.

Minor correction: I just saw that CNN banner scroll again. It says: Watch "Showbiz Tonight" at 11 PM E on Headline Prime.

There's a new article that just showed up on Google about all the friends and extended family that the Wilsons have in Dallas, and it really is sweet. It is awful that the media were going around and bothering people, but the result is so positive and such a show of support for the Wilsons that I had to mention it here for us too. (I don't know if you remember Warren Johnson's name, if you followed news about Owen before you might remember that Warren had small parts in Owen's movies especially Bottle Rocket, and that when Warren was in hospital last year and eventually passed away Owen made a special trip to visit him in the hospital; Warren and his colleague Rudy Reece are mentioned here and Rudy is interviewed. Also, there's a great part about Owen calling up and saying hello to a teacher at St. Marks, who he had actually gotten in trouble with, when he saw an article about the teacher in the St. Marks alumni magazine.) It's stories like that that really let us know how special, wonderful and human Owen is. Here is the link: www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/082907dnwilsonfolo.7cfac36d.html

Thank you, Sugar Magnolia!
Modified to add: I think Larry King and his panel did a respectful report about Owen. They did say the police log shows 'suicide attempt,' and they seemed to accept that as being the cause of Owen's hospitalization. But they refused to speculate on why he might have done it, citing his wish to be left alone. They did point out that Owen is very well-liked in Hollywood and that Hollywood is being very supportive. They thought that if he can put his problems behind him, Owen should have a bright career future; that nobody would hold it against him and he should be able to get lots of work. During their conversation, clips from Owen's movies were shown, along with footage of his movie opening appearances.

Minor correction: I just saw that CNN banner scroll again. It says: Watch "Showbiz Tonight" at 11 PM E on Headline Prime. Larry and his panel did talk about Owen tonight for about 10-15 minutes mid-way into his show.

Yes, and they also discussed the difficulty of being reporters having to report news but still respect Owen's wishes that they not talk about it.

I know... I was surprised at how respectful the panel was on Larry King - he seemed to want them to delve - but no one was taking bait... even tmz.com. The gal from Eonline was almost reverential of Owen.
We've known it for years... but it is nice to know that the general media and 'Hollywood' acknowledge that the Wilsons are not gossip fodder - they are not cheap, headlining, momentary celebrities. It was actually quite the opposite from what I expected.

There is always one that will ruin the sense of community and compassion.
I just saw the Tues edition of E! Ryan Seacrest was very compassionate and seemed really supportive of Owen and his wishes. They didn't speculate either, they just reported the lastest developments and left it at that. I was touched by it.
The whole world seems to be united in their wishes and they all seem so shocked by it all. It was on local TV channels and radio over here in Ipswich. It was in the papers and even a local one.
I can scan the articles for people if they want.
I hope his career gets back on track soon. I am upset that he may not be in Thunder but his health comes first.
Question:::::: There are two different reports as to who found him. Any idea on the real one? Its confusing. E! and several reports say it was Luke and not Andrew.
Anyway. Get well soon Owen. We love ya lots!!!!!!!!

Hiya, This is the first time I've posted anything here, but this is all so crazy with all the speculation out there and not just in the tabloids either. I saw this on the Sky News website:
'Wilson Had Been On Hillbilly Heroin' Updated: 09:31, Wednesday August 29, 2007
Hollywood actor Owen Wilson went on a three-day drugs binge before his suspected suicide bid, it has been claimed. Wilson is recovering in hospitalThe troubled star apparently took crystal meth and powerful Oxycodone painkillers, nicknamed "hillbilly heroin" because they are cheap and have killed hundreds of addicts.
Wilson overdosed on the drugs and slashed his wrists before he was found by a relative, thought to be his brother, at his Californian home, reports said.
It is not yet known what led the 38-year-old to try to kill himself - but some say he was upset at seeing pictures of his ex-girlfriend, Kate Hudson, with another man.
Wilson's friends claim he has been "depressed" for months and hinted that his black moods may have been sparked by the break-up with the US actress.
Other reports said the Wedding Crashers and Shanghai Noon actor may have attempted suicide after an argument with a friend at his home.
A neighbour said he saw two men enter the star's Santa Monica house the previous evening and added: "Someone was with him before this happened. He wasn't alone."
Actress Kate HudsonDoctors had to inject him on Sunday with two poweful anti-narcotics drugs to save him, the Daily Mirror reported.
The Oscar-nominated star is recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, where he was said to be in a "good" condition.
In a statement, he asked to be allowed to "heal in private".
Hollywood insiders say that despite his problems he should continue to enjoy big-screen success.
One industry analyst said: "Owen Wilson has a really good reputation and people in general really feel bad for him right now."
Wonder where on earth they got their info from??? Really, really hoping this is not true.

Welcome Storm, and thank you for the updates ladies! One of the things that stuck with me from Larry King last night, is when the reporter said that one of Owen's friends said he'd be devastated by all the speculation out there in the media. Even if some things are true, I still believe he deserves his privacy. I think Owen's part in Tropic Thunder was like a cameo anyway, to be filmed in LA. We still have TDL, and DT to look forward to! We can show our support that way!

#welcome# Storm!
That's what I heard too, probably read it here somewhere - that Owen's part in Tropic Thunder was going to be a cameo. I'm sad that he's out of that now but it was only a cameo, and he needs to take time for himself.
They did say on Larry King last night that Owen has battled drug addiction. If that's true, poor Owen! I didn't know.
