TMZ just posted this: "Owen Wilson, was hospitalized under mysterious circumstances on Sunday. The exact cause of his hospitalization is unknown." (I think the news of Owen being hospitalized needs it's own thread now.) From Roger Friedman at FoxNews: "What a shame about actor Owen Wilson. The amiable party animal apparently has been hospitalized. According to myriad reports, drugs were involved. One report suggested that his wrists were bandaged upon admittance. I’ve met Owen, his brothers and his terrific parents many times. These are no Lohans, but down-to-earth, sensible, lovely people. Owen is portrayed in the tabloid press as a wild man, and he is to some extent. But he’s also a talented actor and writer. Hopefully he’ll get the help he needs, and straighten out his life. He’s basically a nice guy in a mean town. ..." CNN just showed a video of Luke and possibly Andrea in a car at the hospital... they said it was Owen arriving at the hospital. Even CNN can't tell them apart! Here's the video they showed. Click Here

I feel so sick right now. Unfortunately, he's not out of the woods yet. Toxicity levels can continue to cause havoc to both the liver and the kidneys for days after, so let's hope and pray that Cedar can effectively treat him, and that he has not done any lasting damage to his renal and hepatic system. It also depends what he used to OD with, let's hope it wasn't pain killers, which can be very toxic.
I have always worried about his mental health, and occasionally he would let a comment slip about how much he was trying to hold it all together. Someone actually asked him a direct question when he was here in Oz and he started to answer but then thought it best to change the subject. Obviously this past years events have pushed him over the edge. Not helped by ex-girlfriends who are publically flaunting new relationships. I am also a little worried about Garcia's well-being. I hope nothing has happened to him.
If he gets through this I wonder if Owen will walk away from it all, he's mentioned that he might on a couple of occasions in the past. Maybe he needs to take a break from Hollywood and let it all go to hell for a while.
Get well Owen. Prayers are being said for you. You saved me once I hope that we can all help with our love of your work and appreciation of you.
I am just amending this to add that ExtraTV are now reporting that he is in "good condition". Thank God. What a relief.

I'm so glad to see the statements from Owen and from the hospital. I know he is going to need time to recover and everything, but I hope that knowing we are here and we care is of some comfort. I'm so glad they found you and you're at Cedars with people watching over you.
We're all thinking loving thoughts about you, no matter what!

from etonline
Owen Wilson speaks out as sources tell ET about his alleged battle with depression. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just in: sources tell ET that OWEN WILSON has allegedly had issues with depression in the past, and that he also completed a stint in Hazelden rehab in Minnesota almost seven years ago.
Meanwhile, the actor is speaking out to ET about his reported suicide attempt.
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," the star says.
CYNTHIA HARDING, a spokeswoman for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, said Owen "is here in good condition," according to The Associated Press. The star had initially been taken to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica.
Rumors ran rampant this morning throughout Hollywood that Owen may have attempted to take his own life early Sunday, claiming the 'Wedding Crashers' star cut his wrist and took a large quantity of pills.
i remember reading intreviews in the past where hes talked about depression and it being an irish thing, that it was something his family had suffered from. and by laughing about tough situations made it easier and thats how he coped..

Thank goodness they are saying he's better. I pray he'll get better as soon as possible. It hurts to even see the video of Andrew and Luke going into the hospital. What a terrible thing to go through for them all.

I'm glad Owen is in "good" condition but Caraboo is right that he still needs close medical attention. We don't know what kind of pills he swallowed, nor do we know what fluid he used to wash them down. If it was an alcoholic beverage, that combination in itself is life-threatening. I hope he hasn't permanently damaged his internal organs; that could shorten his life or require transplantation. But I'm getting way ahead of myself here.
Even as an outsider and stranger, I've worried that Owen has been living his life at breakneck speed: the serial dating with seemingly no "debriefing" time off between relationships, the constant work in movies, one after another with little to no break. Over long periods of time, these things are unhealthy. What happened on Sunday may have been inevitable, assuming Caraboo knows details about him that I didn't. I hope he will give himself sufficient downtime this time. He might not have a choice about that. Should he disappear for a long time, I'll miss him terribly but his health is the important thing!
It's odd but I've been worried that something terrible might happen to Owen. Whatever event I was afraid of, I didn't expect it would be self-inflicted.
I hope and pray he will find peace and balance in his life. He has so much to give. It is tragic that after giving all of us so much laughter and smiles, that he can't find happiness for himself. He has no idea how much he has inspired me. If it weren't for him, I'm not sure I would have taken up painting again.
I mailed a get-well card to him at Cedars this morning with a short letter. (Of course! I didn't mention anything about suicide!)But part of me is hoping he won't receive it because he will have improved enough to be discharged before the card's arrival. I hope he won't consider cards an invasion of privacy but he might. If that's the case, I hope the staff will discard them for him. His emotional health comes first.
