VS, I enjoyed reading your comments, and I think you nailed it in the last few lines: we the public read this stuff because we think our lives are dull and drab, and we live vicariously through our favorite stars. So we try to get caught up in their personal lives which we believe must be more exciting than our own. (In my case, there's some truth to that statement, LOL).
And the mags keep printing this stuff because we keep buying it.
To read that Owen is finding this Kate rumor "hard to handle" made me feel sad. But just because I buy magazines that have Owen photos in them doesn't mean I believe the text. I'm just grateful for the photos. Thanks again for your thoughts, VS.

Interesting comments everybody. If and when Owen and Kate go public, I'm still in the "it's their business" camp. If they are an item, then I hope they will be very happy together and I hope the World's media will leave them alone. Thanks for that article Remi. If Owen did indeed say this, then I think it is a real shame. All this hoo-hah sounds as though it could be getting to him. Bless him. Owen needs his friends right now. I hope Andrew and Luke can spend some time with him whilst all this is going on. The paparazzi can be very cruel and intrusive and I hope it doesn't get too bad for everyone involved.

Yes, I agree. It would be perfect if everybody could disappear on separate vacations far far away until all this blows over.

I'm still in the "it's their business" camp. I agree brit. Owen's personal life is his own and recent events have taken this out of a controllable parameter. I do not think that anybody trolled for a married woman; I do think that Owen often portrays the flirtatious & wishful counterpart in his movie roles...and then he adds interview comments to that effect. Unfortunately, I do believe that at this time- comments he has made in interviews have turned around and bit him in the ass... and damn is he uncomfortable and paying the ultimate price. I have read casual comments about the affair and I would suspect the quickest biz spin from Owen's camp. He's been pretty careful and yet probably very regretful now about the casual flirtatious comments replayed ad nauseam via the entertaiment channels & media... HT #clover# Wait a few months for the conclusion to the Owen Nightmare or Owen Dream. If the Kate/Owen vision becomes reality- I would make damn sure she has a sense of marital fidelity and all it entails. Not the open marriage nonsense her previous comments alluded to with her current marriage to Robinson--

HT - That's an interesting perspective and I agree with your comments above. It is something to remember how past comments, impressions and transgressions can come home to roost, unexpectedly. During the Wedding Crashers PR tour, I cringed at some the little quips attributed to Owen in interviews; i.e., the "experimental side with women" or the "many ways to the waterfall" and some of the other comments in last year's Rolling Stone article made me roll my eyes. The lines between his laid-back frat-boy movie characters and the real-life persona he (or his PR hacks) wanted to present have become awfully blurred. I think going to India with Wes and leaving behind his 40something frat-boy producer & writer buddies will be good for Owen. He can get away from the glare & BS of Hollywood, grow his beard and maybe find some peace in quality work. He might want to take a little sojurn to Nepal and do some quiet reflection. (cg gets off her soapbox and goes back to work on her presentation for work)

I just feel sorry for the way Owen, Kate and Chris' personal lives are being splashed about all over the internet, "news"papers, tv etc. It must be a pretty tough time for all those involved. I'm sure they could do without all this speculation by the media.
Since The Wedding Crashers was so successful, Owen is now a megastar and it is strange how the media seem to knock down, really famous people.
Curiousgeorge, I agree with you, I think the trip to India will do Owen good. He does needs a break from all the Hollywood hoo-ha. Owen's life has been in the fast lane since Wedding Crashers. It doesn't seem as though he has stopped working, bless him. I just hope the nasty side of showbusiness doesn't get too much for Owen.
HurlT, Yeah, I agree. I think Owen is very reluctant to reveal his true self in interviews and sometimes uses his movie character persona as a "shield". I've heard Luke say in interviews that Owen can be quite shy. I don't know Owen, so maybe I shouldn't be typing all this. I'll shut up now.

Unfortunately, Owen doesn't get to go to India just yet. He starts filming Drillbit Taylor in Los Angeles soon. That's if we can believe the source of that information.

Sorry for double posting.
This was on IMDB.com "daily news" today.
Wilson Denies Hudson Romance
Owen Wilson has rubbished reports he is dating his You, Me And Dupree co-star Kate Hudson, insisting he's still single. The actor has been linked with the glamorous blonde since she announced her break-up with The Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson earlier this month. But despite the rampant rumors, Wilson insists there is no romance in his life. He says, "I'm single despite what people say. I think hopefully that I'll meet someone that I'll want to have a family with, that's what I would like." Wilson has already hired Hollywood heavyweight attorney Martin Singer to slap a lawsuit on anyone reporting the stars are dating. He had allegedly been seeing a Los Angeles public relations executive when news of Hudson's marriage split broke.

AnaMaria, thank you for the article. And that is one hot photo of Owen on it, isn't it? I wish that could be my personal avatar. Oh heck, everytime I see a hot photo of Owen, I wish it were my avatar.
