Unfortunately, I think the rumor mill is just getting geared up. I so hope that Owen is able to get some rest and is able to turn on the charm and the equanimity ;D tomorrow, and put the kibosh on all this mess.

I can't remember where I read it, but I'm pretty sure I recall a news story that noted how Us magazine was losing readers and starting to drop in market share.

I'm sure the Us publishers & editors are digging up any type of story angle that will give increase their exposure (and sales!)

I for one, think that Owen and Kate make an awesome couple! I think they look good together - and they seem to go good together. But, what do I know?! (shrugs)

I definitely think Kate goes better with Owen than she did with that Chris Robinson - he didn't look right for her.

This Owen-Kate thing really doesn't surprise me. When they were on Jay Leno back-to-back nights, they were teasingly talking about each other. You could tell that Kate really liked Owen.

well i just posted in the gossip thread that kate was spotted with chris all day and all kissy kissy in BU s who knows...most people in town think (or know or say they know or say they think they know...anyway...hmmmmm) that owen and kate got it on most definitely (good for them!!!!) but its over and they are not together.
i do hope they had fun while it lasted if it did go down!!!!

Can Kate Hudson & Chris Robinson Work it Out?

Many observers said they saw the Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson split coming as it appeared that the couple had 'drifted apart.' But even as Kate announced the split a new report set for this week's Life & Style Weekly will reveal that the pair may be able to work it out.

The magazine details that Kate has talked Chris into couples counseling in a desperate bid to save her marriage. On August 20, less than a week after announcing their separation, Kate Hudson (with 2-year-old son Ryder) and Chris Robinson met for a casual Sunday breakfast at A Votre Sante in L.A.

And pictures showed that as Kate and Chris strolled through Brentwood, Calif., on Aug. 20 after the Sunday brunch with Ryder they looked like the perfect family.

So - can they make it work?

Regardless of their problems, Kate and Chris do still have strong feelings for each other, the story reports. An eye-witness who saw Chris leaving Kate’s house on Aug. 20 tells the weekly, “When Chris left that night, he gently kissed Kate and said, ‘I love you, babe.’”

An insider also dished to Life & Style that in the past three weeks, Kate and Chris have had several intensive therapy sessions in an effort to avoid divorce court. “Kate never intended for things to end this way,” says the insider. “She loves Chris.”

As for the rumors that Kate, 27, left Chris, 39, to be with her You, Me and Dupree co-star Owen Wilson, 37, the insider says that’s just not true.

It sounds as if divorce is still a possibility, but the couple seems to be making an effort to make that the last choice.

i wonder if she jumped the gun and left chris because she thought owen wanted to be with her now she is realizing he doesnt want to be and doesnt want to jump into the whole step dad thing and all the paparattzi and whatnot so now she is trying to get back with chris.

VS, that could be right considering the timing of everything. But, of course, it's just speculation. Last I knew Owen was supposed to have flipped for Francesca Versace. And then, of course, there's always Carolina "on the back burner" but still present.

I was just thinking how awkward it would have been for Owen and his mother for them to be shopping and see his face all over the Us Weeklys at the checkout stands. Can you imagine?

The one thing we can be sure of: one of these days Owen is going to get married, and all I can do is wish him much happiness.
(Even though I have a nagging feeling that a married Owen is going to be less accessible, less photographed, etc).

Poor Kate. I kinda feel a little sympathy for her. To have to live all of this marital drama out in the public eye is painful. It's bad enough to endure it in private.

The whole thing is sad for everyone involved....especially so if she walked away from her marriage thinking she was walking into the arms of someone else. Oops.

i agree with everything said. i feel bad for everyone involved that something so personal is being made into such a public spectacle. regardless of my personal feelings or opinions on the whole matter, no one deserves to have their seperation smeared on the front page. ryder is probably too little to realize what is going on, at least from the media aspect, but i would also hate for a child of mine to have to read about my personal affairs on the cover of a magazine.

such a big deal is being made about kate and owen, that the media is forgetting what they wrote about a couple years back, about how kate ahd chris's marriage has always been rocky. i've been a black crowes fan for awhile, even before kate hudson was his wife. there were always rumors of chris's partying ways, with groupies, drugs, alcohol, etc. when kate came into the picture, there were stories of how horrible she was to his fans, and how she demanded so much on the few occasions she did tour with them. i think the old black crowes message board got taken down, or re-done, but there was a LOT of stuff written by fans who went to their shows who had some less that savory experiences with them, as a couple. i don't know what owen's part of any of this is, but it seems that there were issues that go way back, before 'you, me, and dupree' even began filming.

Though there was no physical contact between the estranged pair, there was no sign of stress or tension either (Hudson wore her wedding band; her husband’s was off). One day of family bonding, however, does not a reconciliation make, especially in light of Hudson’s recent affair with Owen Wilson, first reported by Us last week.

Hudson — under wise PR advice, perhaps — has been steering clear of her Dupree costar, even canceling plans to attend the London premiere. In fact, the 27-year-old actress might be second-guessing her actions, wondering whether she traded a solid six-plus-year relationship for something less reliable. “Kate knows that Chris was a great husband and father, and questions what kind of future she would have with Owen,” says a source. “Owen has never been monogamous and Kate knows that.”

By all accounts, it was Wilson’s sense of humor that won Hudson on the set of You, Me and Dupree last year. “At times I couldn’t look at him and not laugh,” she has said. The chemistry was obvious to anyone who saw them interact. They partied at NYC club Marquee and made out on a couch at a party in L.A. thrown by CAA agent Bryan Lourd, a witness says. Now the question is whether this was a fling or a relationship built to last.

Hollywood gossip and those decrying the gossip have been around since there's been a Hollywood. Yes, I really do hope Kate sues this mag and teaches them a lesson. But "they" never learn.

If readership is down, it's hard to say what is the cause. Because of the economy and high prices, a lot of "frivolous" purchases is down. Starbucks is reporting losses.

Modified to add: So is Krispy Kreme showing losses. Readership may be down because of cutbacks in consumer spending... or because of poor quality of magazines.

interestingly enough, i used to heavily read the glossy tabloids (us weekly, star, intouch, life & style, ok!)...star used to be the least reliable, us weekly usually was partially on target. it seems us weekly is quickly heading down a slippery slope, and printing things without ANY validity. i was flipping through last weeks mags at target while waiting for my friend to try on clothes, and us weekly seemed to be the only one who took any owen-related stance on the kate split, at least, initially. other mags may catch on this week, who knows.

i agree, though. i really hope kate and owen both sue the bejeesus out of US, and any other mag who prints such stories. these publications are REALLY pushing the boundaries of freedom of press. also, i know arnold was discussing some sort of paparazzi laws in california, does anyone know anything else about them?

I know it must sound silly for me to say "I hope Kate sues them". But, she seems like a nice person who is having a hard time right now, and this magazine seems to be kicking her while she's down, and I hate that for her. I hate it for Owen, too.

Kate Hudson pulled out the “You, Me and Dupree” premiere in London and Owen Wilson along with it, but that’s ok after all, he got a nice treat from one of his fans.

Owen confessed in an interview that the recent events regarding his co-star Kate Hudson, and her divorce, are very hard for him to handle.
He said that "Criticism of me personally is far worse than someone attacking my movies. If it's me they're attacking it's hard. At least if someone is attacking a film I am in I can hide behind the product."

i think most people especially here in hollywood know the mags are BS and the mags themselves do and its more like full on entertainment and if people who read them are well, stupid enough, to believe all the read in them or in any other magazine or just believing anything because its in print is well you always have to question it.
look i live in hollywood and i am pretty involved with things and i have been to gatherings at celebrity homes or hotel rooms where they live and they sit around smoking cigarettes taking adderal while they flip thru US weekly and bag on everyone in the magazine including themselves. i have seen people who are in US and Star on a regualr basis do this. then they all show up at the US weekly young hot hollywood awards (the next one is sept 21st) and they accept free stuff (major big cool free stuff) and they have a love hate thing going on. everyone here knows its just made for entertainment. they dont talk about drugs for the most part (they refer to it as either exhaustion/partying/clubbing/ friends are concerned but they never straight up say anything specific) and they keep the sex to a minimum (they say paris is with/dating someone or owen and kate are spotted talking on the beach. they leave the rest to the readers imagination knowing what conclusion the reader will come up with) they leave the real dirt to the internet and the european tabloids which are more hard core and can print drug related incidents and pics (remember kate moss) but you can bet if they printed stuff like that there would be no niceness between hollywoods stars who are in the moment and on the pages like there is now. the paparattzi are all together a separate ballgame. they are evil i saw them almost knock down courtney arquette while she was very pregnant in malibu THEY cross the lines. if you go to wire image or getty you see the same or similar pics that are in the tabloids and mostly the pic all the mags use is the same. if these people REALLY wanted to sell magazines they have the info to do it with all the insane and crazy things that happen in hollywood. they are for the most part covering for hollywood and keeping the over interested american public busy with things like affairs and babies they keep the real dirt hidden and locked away i promise you guys. my friend at us weekly says they are pretty in the know that there is nothing at this time between kate and owen but they have to do a follow up and once you read the article after seeing the eye catching cover it doesnt do much of anything but say a bunch of maybe what ifs or sillyness. its all wacky i agree on that for sure but we all read it or it at least catches our eye for a second while we wait in the check out line. its not meant to be the sole and only truth its meant to be entertaining. i dont mean one drop of this to be directed at anyone i am more just saying it out loud because i know you guys get what i am saying. i mean my mom (and all my relatives and friends who dont live in LA) calls me every week from the east coast and she talks to me after reading the tabloid and she says "OMG can you believe that angelina? and what is jen thinking? and i wonder if tom's baby is cute i am dying to see her." i dont mean they are "stupid" when i said stupid for believing but its more like a way to get away and escape reality and live vicariously thru someone else for a second who is rich and beautiful but has a worse life than you the reader and that makes it so appealing in itself as well. heck i read them i just got all my new tabloids this am. its tabloid thursday! xo
