I know there are buried threads, but here's one for the quick reader. Besides, why be so circumspect about the whole thing? So it would seem that the highlighed boy from Texas and the heiress of the goldielocks are an item. Ages ago, I thought that it was too bad they hadn't met before she got hitched. And now here they are. Kismet! Now the only thing that would've been better would be if Owen had fallen hard for Matt Dillon. On the upside, I think Kate will appeal very much to uber-mother Laura Wilson, who is a woman of brains, independence and will. No doubt she helped put the kibosh on the stripper as a suitable lifetime mate. Frankly, I wouldn't want to be a presented to La mama Wilson if I were a twit. Other good things: Kate's cuter than him. She'll have a longer shelf life than him. She might even get him to take his ritalin in the mornings. Both Owen and Kate come from families with a stable marriage/companion history. Maybe the 2nd time will be her charm. And remember: An affair is an indication of a troubled marriage. People don't go sleeping around namby pamby. They do so only because they have been in an awkward marriage for awhile and it's been grating at them. Nonetheless, here are some general rules: 1. Never count on being "the one" when you're the first one to go out with someone who has just gone through the gates of marital h*ll. 2. If the person you're pursuing a fling/serious dalliance with has a kid, you'd better not flake out. That kid will come to view you over time as family, and when you leave, you'll hurt him or her too.

Now the only thing that would've been better would be if Owen had fallen hard for Matt Dillon. Ted? Is that you? j/k I guess I haven't really put that much thought into all the if's, and's, and but's to their rumored relationship. I refuse to take a gossip magazine's word as Gospel and speculate any further than I have previously on the Gossip thread. Maybe we'll know more as the YMAD London Premiere approaches. #hmm# Callie, I love the way you express your thoughts... it's always entertaining.

Matt Dillon --ah, now there's an actor who has really grown. Plus, he's just downright hunkalicious! Ten times the actor that Owen is. (But really, with a personality like that, who cares about his acting?) Now really, he and Owen really should've tried to cross over to the other side. What Hollywood needs is not another messy heterosexual affair like a Brangelina . Oh please! Spare us anymore tales of humanitarian adoptions (ahem... steven spielberg, tom and then wife nicole, and so many others).
What we're missing is a truly "A" list gay couple. Two hunks. Since we've all had to just give up on George Clooney every coming out it's a shame my voodoodoll perversion powers couldn't influence Matt and Owen.
But no, it'll be Owen and Kate and about 4 little blondlets running around. I'll bet ya she'll get preggers this year. Whoo hoooo!!! The lawyers are drawing up the Pre Nup. Hers will stipulate that if they break up, Owen takes all his skateboards with him.

;)Remi.... but of COURSE we MUST believe the gossip rags. They have much more pathetic lives than us, positioning themselves in bushes all day, following celebrities around. Kate and Owen! Kate and Owen! (And yes, my voodoodoll is being made to look like Luke and ... erhmmm.... Rupert Everett! Much easier this time. I only need one voodoodoll to effect a change!

Callie, are you serious? Owen + Matt? Are you referring to a possible movie for them or real life?
The idea of them being together in real life is riotously funny, I admit. But, to the best of my knowledge, neither has shown the slightest hint of homosexual tendencies (Owen & Ben Stiller in S&H notwithstanding, but that was a role they were playing, not real life). Owen and his "appetite" for women shows him to be full-tilt heterosexual all the way. And I've not read anything about Matt that is "questionable" in that way.
But still, the Owen/Matt idea does make me laugh, and so maybe it's something worth their investigating for a movie.

Callie like Ted? Hmmm... I'd say more like Popbitch or Perezhilton. More in the ranks of enjoying deriding celebs - talking trash. I prefer sites like Pink is the New Blog or Galleryoftheabsurd where the gossip still seems to hold some affection for the celebs they are discussing.
And where's my rolling eyes icon? Oh here it is... #rolleyes# Although that icon is not quite the eye rolling sentiment I am looking for. ;D

Callie did seem to take a Perez turn there, huh?! The whole thing is just wishful thinking on Callie's part. I too wish that there was an "A" list gay couple. In fact, this would be a great time for one to come forward. If for no other reason but to take the heat off Owen and Kate, and give both teams something else scandalous to chat about. Keep up with the voodoo dolls, Callie - who knows, you may be on to something! But unfortunately for the other team, it will never involve a Wilson. And come to think of it, we'll keep Matt, too. ;D

Thought you might be interested in a couple of articles that have appeared in magazines given away with UK Sunday newspapers today (The Sunday Express and Sunday Telegraph). In both, Kate Hudson is interviewed - linking with next week's UK opening of 'YMAD'. She speaks warmly of both her marriage and her husband (!) and how much she loves being a wife and mother..... In the Express article she mentions Owen.....(quote) "and then there was the licking scene. Let me tell you, I have literally had enough Wilson saliva to last me a lifetime. You only really saw the face-lick, but we filmed this whole other thing which was so sloppy and all over the place. Unbelievable.". What, you cannot help wondering, did her husband make of this? "He's pretty cool about that kind of stuff - he knows it's part of my job" she says, "And, God, it's so nice to make out with boys once in a while....'" And then laughs, as she does frequently, to make it clear she's joking.......' In The Telegraph, she says (quote) "I am a good audience in general....But around Owen? Forget it. At times, I couldn't look at him and not laugh. There's something about his eyes - when he knows that I know what he is doing is funny, there's a little squint that happens...and I'm toast" I should imagine that, if they do both turn up here for the publicity junket (and some reporter on the radio this morning mentioned that she will be talking to them both next week when they are in London), Kate in particular will be facing some 'interesting' questions......

Hi, even the German news show on TV mentioned the split up of Kate and Chris. So now it's really official. #rolleyes# But there was no word about the reason, especially not about Owen Wilson. Bye, Calliope

The PR spin doctors must be working overtime! Just saw on Perez Hilton.com a little tidbt that Owen is expected to attend the YM&D London premiere, solo...sans Kate.
Same blurb also had a picture of Kate out with her husband and son. Pic was taken on the weekend.

I read that Owen has hired a big Hollywood lawyer to sue anyone who implies that Owen is behind Kate and Chris's split. Don't remember where I read it. Sounds logical, though. Those tabloids and magazines get pretty nasty with the gossip.

Click Herethere is a link to the attorney bit. as i'm not from the UK, i don't know how reliable that website is, perhaps one of you UK ladies know more about the site? martin singer, if i remember correctly, was the attorney who just won the judgement against star magazine for reese witherspoon regarding the incorrect pregnancy cover story. he's a huge hollywood entertainment lawyer who specializes in libel, slander, and defamation suits. hopefully, he can help owen attack some of these stories. edited by Remi to fix the link

I hope it doesn't come to that but the new Us Weekly (8/28) has implied there is an Owen angle to Kate's separation - if I read the article correctly. Or maybe I read too much between the lines.
This is just the kind of "trashy" stuff booboo wrote about.
Even if Kate & Owen do get together - IF they are together - I never thought Owen was the cause of Kate's separation. Owen just doesn't seem to be the type of man who would get involved with a married woman.
