I didnt even know who The Bee Gees were till recently... I heard Staying Alive and I actually found it a li'l strange I went to check who these Bee Gees were and as it turned out, they were one of the biggest bands ever #duh# .Heard How Deep Is Your Love - became a fan instantly. I guess the BeeGees are to y'all what Blue/Bon Jovi is to me. This song doesnt exactly remind me of Owen, but everytime he proposes to me, he makes sure it is played in the background BEST IN ME From the moment I met you I just knew you'd be mine (From the moment I SAW you I HOPED you'd be mine) You touched my hand And I knew that this was gonna be our time( #praying# ) I don't ever wanna lose this feeling I don't wanna spend a moment apart [Chorus:] 'Cos you bring out the best in me, like no-one else can do That's why I'm by your side, and that's why I love you (#iagree# WE LOVE YOU OWIE!) Every day that I'm here with you I know that it feels right And I've just got to be near you every day and every night And you know that we belong together It just had to be you and me [/b] ( why is this not true yet?) 'Cos you bring out the best in me, like no-one else can do That's why I'm by your side, and that's why I love you And you know that we belong together, It just had to be you and me 'Cos you bring out the best in me, like no-one else can do That's why I'm by your side 'Cos you bring out the best in me, like no-one else can do That's why I'm by your side, and that's why I love you 'Cos you bring out the best in me, like no-one else can do That's why I'm by your side, and that's why I love you Song: Best In Me. Do listen to it, it is bea-u-tiful!

I just heard this and went looking for the lyrics and I find this song fitting here. Phil Collins - You Know What I Mean Just as I thought I'd made it You walk back into my life Just like you never left Just as I'd learned to be lonely You call up to tell me You're not sure if you're ready Oh but ready or not, you'll take what you've got and leave [ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/byW ] Leave me alone with my heart I'm putting the pieces back together again Just leave, leave me alone with my dreams I can do without you, know what I mean... I wish I could write a love song, To show you the way I feel Seems you don't like to listen Oh but like it or not, take what you've got and you leave Leave me alone with my heart It's broken in two and I'm not, I'm not thinking too straight Just leave, leave me alone with my dreams You've taken everything else, you know what I mean

A good measure of songs that belong to this thread are sung/written by male singers, so every now and then , some part of the lyrics just doesnt match the, lets say situation. Of late I'm going crazy about this band. They have such lovely Irish music and the lead singer has a heavenly voice. The song is just perfect and reminds me of Owen. Its called ' Runaway'. The band is 'The Corrs' RunawaySay it's true, there's nothing like me and you I'm not alone, tell me you feel it too And I would runaway I would runaway, yeah yeah I would runaway I would runaway with you Cause I have fallen in love With you no never have I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love with you Close the door, lay down upon the floor And by candlelight, make love to me through the night (through the night) 'Cause I have runaway, I have runaway, yeah yeah I have runaway, runaway I have runaway with you 'Cause I have fallen in love (fallen in love) With you no never oh, oh I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love with you With you And I would runaway, I would runaway, yeah yeah I would runaway (runaway) I would runaway (yeah) with you, Cause I have, have fallen in love (fallen in love) With you no never oh, oh I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love with you Ya da da, ya da da da da With you Ya da da, ya da da da da With you

That's so funny that the Bee Gee's were mentioned, I listen to them a lot on my itunes while checking out this forum. Yes I imagine myself disco dancing with the Wilson's. Ok, just kidding, that would be a really bad image!!! The Bee Gee's were huge in the 70's and early 80's back in the Saturday Night Fever days. I actually walked 20 miles in one of those March of Dimes walkathons as a young teenager just to have the chance to see Andy Gibb. I still remember he had a sprained ankle and had to be lifted on and off of the stage. I am a big Def Leppard fan and love the song Hysteria. It fits for me I think. #dance2#. Does any one remember angel flights and dittos?

I heard this song on the oldies station and it made me think of some of the hair threads . . . and of course Andrew's rockin Grizzly Adams look, which sometimes looks like it's veering off into ZZ Top territory.
"Hair" lyrics by James Rado & Gerome Ragni
She asks me why I'm just a hairy guy I'm hairy noon and night Hair that's a fright I'm hairy high and low Don't ask me why Don't know It's not for lack of break Like the Grateful Dead Darling
Gimme head with hair Long beautiful hair Shining, gleaming, Streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there hair Shoulder length or longer Here baby, there mama Everywhere daddy daddy
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair Flow it, show it Long as God can grow it My hair
Let it fly in the breeze And get caught in the trees Give a home to the fleas in my hair A home for fleas A hive for bees A nest for birds There ain't no words For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder Of my...
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair Flow it, show it Long as God can grow it My hair
I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty Oily, greasy, fleecy Shining, gleaming, streaming Flaxen, waxen Knotted, polka-dotted Twisted, beaded, braided Powdered, flowered, and confettied Bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!
Oh say can you see My eyes if you can Then my hair's too short
Down to here Down to there Down to where It stops by itself
Dunno, it made me laugh . . . . #dontknow#

A good song for Andrew & Owen...and sometimes Luke (when he's not buzz-cut). "Hair" is the theme song to the rock musical of the same name. I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable, but I think most of the Hair entry is. This contains more info than you may want to know, lol: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_%28musical%29That green & red poster was everywhere. Here is the Cowsill's version of it which was a big hit for them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFy-yzj02FE&feature=related

My sister's first theater experience was seeing Hair. I am not sure my parents knew there was so much nudity at the time. Still love the musice from that one. Not the movie soundtrack, but the actual production.

I remember seeing the movie version of Hair with Treat Williams as a much too young girl. I also remember singing a really inappropriate song from the movie and my mom's shock! I will let you figure the song out, but imagine my embarrassment at having to learn what those words really meant! #faint#

After changing all the girls to guys in this song...it can easily apply to any one of our Wilson boys...although my preference is Owen
Sugar Sugar by the Archies (the Archies were a comic book. Back in the early 70's there was a cartoon on TV. I even remember getting this record off the back of a box of cereal - Super Sugar Crisps, which are now politically correctly renamed Super 'Golden' Crisps.
Sugar, ah honey honey You are my candy guy And you've got me wanting you. Honey, ah sugar sugar You are my candy guy And you got me wanting you
I just can't believe the lovliness of loving you, (I just can't believe it's true) I just can't believe the one to love this feeling to (I just can't believe it's true)
Sugar, ah honey hiney you are my candy guy and you got me wanting you honey, ah sugar sugar you are my candy guy and you got me wanting you
When i kissed you guy I knew how sweet a kiss could be (I know how sweet a kiss could be) Like the summer sunshine pour you sweetness over me (Pour your sweetness over me)
Pour a little sugar on it honey Pour a little sugar on it Baby I'm gonna make your life so sweet, yeah yeah yeah pour a little sugar on it yeah pour a little sugar on it honey pour a little sugar on it baby I'm gonna make your life so sweet, yeah yeah yeah pour a little sugar on it honey
Ah sugar, ah honey honey you are my candy guy and you got me wanting you Oh honey honey, sugar sugar.............. You are my candy guy

Good song choice, SLD. Here's the song courtesy of YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGL4btEIoToThe audio is the Archies band but the video uses the characters from the Archie comic books. Archie is the red-headed guy, Reggie is the black-haired guy. Veronica was blond although the Veronica in the comic book wore a pony tail and the Veronica in this video has her hair in a pageboy cut. (I don't remember the dark-haired girl's name. Was it Betty?) Kurt Russell also did a version of this song. His voice was so sweet.

Actually, Betty is the blond and Veronica is the dark haired one. Ah, the things we remember....
