Yes, Nana. You were right! #wink# I was just looking at the ages of the Italian players and I can't believe I'm older than most of them! And I know all too well what it's like to lose...so I'm glad I'm able to celebrate this time!

Right. I figured it was the Italian's fault. #rolleyes# Of course! Racial insults now? Who the hell knows what Materazzi and Zidane said to each other. Only they will ever know exactly what was said. But these are guys playing in the FINAL of the WORLD CUP. Surely they know how to act. It's not the first game they've played and they've all dealt with insults, kicks, fouls, etc. before. But it's not the first time Zidane has done this, so it's not that surprising. Here's a nice article that sums it up:What I think is disgusting is that Zidane would act the way in which he did at this level. Zidane is just lucky he didn't kill Materazzi or hurt him really bad. And on the other note, if you can read Italian, go here: sport.alice.it/it/cmc/mondiali2006/200628/cmc_98594.htmlThey talk about Materazzi's alleged insult to Zidane, with no proof, and how now the Muslims - on some Internet sites (they think Materazzi insulted Zidane for being a Muslim, and therefore all Muslims) - are posting that they want Materazzi dead. Now that's intelligent. #rolleyes# Then, Marco Materazzi has said that he did NOT call Zidane a "terrorist." Supposedly the UK paper, "The Guardian," came out with the hypothesis that Materazzi called Zidane a terrorist. They later denied the claim. Materazzi said it's not true that he called Zidane a terrorist. But he sums it up best when he says: "What happened, the whole world saw on their television."

don't think i'm on zidane's side just because i'm french
to tell the truth, at the beginning of the match i was for italy i love this country and i've a lot of friends there
but i felt so sorry for zidane and the french team
in france everybody knows that zidane is a great man so he surprised everyone and i truely think that materazzi have said something very mean
but i 'm really happy for italy i know that calcio is a religion there so congrats italy!!!
and buffon is a real hero

I'm sure they traded insults, but what I'm trying to say, is that at the level they are playing at, and what is at stake, they should know better. Especially Zidane. Why would he want to go out that way?

Lib, I've been searching for the "good" Gigi Buffon pictures, but I can't find them... I'm still searching though! They should all be naked, like Cannavaro.

Ok... Buffon would translated into portuguese as something like "breathing heavily" ... very appropriate...

#bravo# #bravo# #bravo# Italia, Italia, ITALIA!!! YES, we WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #bravo# #bravo# #bravo# What great sportsmanship shown by Zidane... (Not!) That was absolutely disgusting what he did. I have NEVER seen such behavior, especially coming from a Team Captain in the Final of the World Cup. What a way to go out. But he only has himself to blame... LOL LOL LOL You know Nathalie, Zidane has a good reputation . It's not the case for Materazzi who likes provocation. The Italians did everything they could do to provoke Zidane who is someone who reacts to things. Materazzi had wrapped his arm around Zidane just as a French attack and insuted him (some people say Materazzi called him "a dirthy terrorist" . Zidane should give some explanations about this. Anyway,Zidane won the Golden Ball as the World Cup's best player. Even if i'm disappointed about what zidane did i'm pround of him and what the french team did during this world cup. Congratulations to Italy. They also deserve the cup even if France was better on the field. Penalty kicks are so cruel.

Why would he want to go out that way? some experts explained that Zidane said "if you want my jersey i will give you after the match" then Materrazzi insulted him. In a few days, Zidane will explain about this. He's is not a liar and i'm sure he will say the truth.
