Hi, I just stumbled over this thread. At first I was very reluctant when I heard that the FIFA Worldcup takes place in Germany. I had terrible visions of drunk, indecent and bawling soccer fans ...  But it was a huge cheerful festival, with only minor exceptions  Near Heidelberg in Walldorf the team of Costa Rica was staying for the Worldcup and there was a big welcome for this Central American team. The regional news paper published a "dictionary" (just on side) with the most important Spanish words. As I am definitely not interested in soccer, I have to admit that I pitied the German team when they lost against the Italian team.  But hey, after all it's just a game and the best team won. Today Scotland play France in the qualifying rounds for Euro 2008. Come on Scotland get intae them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now to be fair Scotland get gubbed every time they play football and France are probably the best team in the world right now. Wouldn't it be great if the under dog, under the underdog, under the underdog (yeah thats how awful we are folks) won?  AND REMEMBER WILSON IS A SCOTTISH NAME...SO SUPPORT YOUR SCOTTISH TEAM! ;D p.S Frenchies, have a good game and a good stay in the city! |
