Tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought Katie was going to refrain from doing the horizontal bop until she was married?
Now she's w/child (I'm assuming a human) from a guy that I thought wasn't supposed to be able to have children?
Am I missing something?

A few years back my ex-boyfriend and I were wandering around L.A. and we found ourselves in front of the church of scientology headquarters. We decided to go in and see what was up. They told us to sit at this table and they gave us each this personality test questionaire to fill out, it was pages long with tons of questions. And they were very weird questions, can't remember examples right now but it was strange. The door was still open so when they left the room we took the tests and ran out. We took them home and showed them to our friends and they were all giggling and going crazy over the bizarre questions that were on it.
As for their "silent brith" method, I read on IMDB that John Travolta and his wife recommeded this to Katie Holmes, there is to be no music, no noise, and the mother must not express any sounds of pain. I've never given birth but I've watched people give birth and I'm sorry, but if a woman needs to moan in pain then she needs to moan in pain. Holding it in would only be more stressful and more uncomfortable for the mother. Gazillions of babies are born to mothers moaning in pain everyday and they turn out alright, I highly doubt a mother's groan of discomfort is going to scar the kid for life.

No music?? That's just wrong!
I've never given birth either, but I thought music is normally played in birthing rooms - whatever helps relax the mother. And if mum is relaxed, it's better for baby too.

Nicole never really gave into the whole Scientology thing, so maybe she was the one that decided against having children when she realized how childbirth would be. Maybe the whole 'sterility' thing was a rumor to cover that up so as not to 'shame' the religion. I'm always looking for a conspiracy.

No, he could have kids. Nicole miscarried his child right as they were divorcing-do you remember those pictures of her in the wheelchair being released from the hospital? I think they just chose to adopt. In fact, at the time of the adoptions, I remember reading mean reports that they adopted because Nicole didn't want to "lose her figure" and turn down jobs because of pregnancy. Just ugly stuff all around-rumors are like that. Beth

I don't get the whole "silent birth" thing. Does that mean no one can speak during the labor and birth itself or just the birth (the few moments after the child is born)? Labor can go on for hours sometimes over a day! Is everyone supposed to maintain silence that long?! There's only so much a person can take! Leave it to a Man to come up with that idea. I'd love to have asked this L. Ron Hubbard character to squeeze an 8 pound bowling ball out of his wazoo and see if he could be quiet about it! (I had my second child "natural", not by choice. Fortunately, it was a quick labor. I know what it feels like.) Childbirth rarely goes as planned. What happens if Katie needs an emergency C-Section? Will they allow her drugs then? Or don't they believe in C-Sections either? I do wish Katie and Tom well. But I really think this will be an eye-opener for Katie.

I don't believe in it too. Scream if you want Katie. Scream the place down. I read today that another one of their beliefs is not to wash the baby after the birth. Just to wrap it in towels (all dirty and stuff) and leave it alone for a day. Hello.........maternal bond people. I have not had children but i do know the first few hours is vital for the mother and child bond

Leave the baby alone for a day?? That is unhumane! It is the opposite of everything I've heard and read! This Scientology thing sounds weirder and weirder. Babies must be held, handled, loved, bathed, and fed - as soon as they're out.

Babies must be held, handled, loved, bathed, and fed - as soon as they're out. exactly....the first moments are the most important.....the poor baby will come to this world, not gonna know what`s going on and then they will leave it alone???i feel sorry for baby Cruise....and Katie, not being to hold her own baby after labor...... but i hope she will scream during labor,so hard that the guys from the scientology church will hear her and Tom will go deaf for few days...... :-[silent birth, what a BS...

I remember hearing about that too, and I do believe that Nicole didn't want to have kids because of jobs, she just seem like she could not have handled it then...and dont get me wrong, I love Nicole Kidman, but some people just don't have it in them to be biological mothers. And I'm not shocked at Katie being pregnant right now but I do fear for her career and her ability to be Katie Holmes instead of Mrs. Cruise. Tom is just too overwhelming, I don't know how she can do it. But then again, Tom has always chosen very feminine, child-like women.

I don't know. I worked at a gay-friendly hotel in so cal whose owner was friends with a Beverly Hills real estate agent. And he propagated that TC was gay and that the whole NK thing was a hoax. He said that Nicole was in a relationship with their physical trainer while Tom was dating a surfer that he spied while cruising the PCH. I have to say, though, T and K look like they're in love. Who knows how these things get started? The handyman of the same hotel said he saw Tom Selleck's mustache fellating Sean Connery's van gay through a Santa Monica Beach glory hole, so you never can tell.

what??? I don't believe TC to be gay even amongst those annoying rumors, but as a heterosexual woman, I would never try to catch a guy like Tc b/c he has so much baggage.

In any case Tom Cruise is one of my favourite actors; I think his talents are grossly underrated. He was amazing in Interview with the Vampire and Magnolia. And uh, like every other movie.
