Did any of you happen to see Tom Cruise on "Oprah" last week? Am I the only one who thinks he's gone completely nuts?? All of the jumping on the couch and getting down on the ground was embarrassing. If I was Katie Holmes I'd be like, "What am I getting myself into?"
OK, so he's in love. Fine. But, he just went completely overboard. And, I don't always thinks she looks completely comfortable with him.
I used to love Tom back in the "Top Gun" and "Cocktail" days, but now he just seems so strange. He seems to be an expert on everyone and everything.
What do you guys think? Some think that this romance is staged and is only publicity for their two movies coming out next month.

A friend of mine said the exact same thing to me this weekend. I used to love Tom then, too. I still love his movies, but as for him being himself.... yeah.... he just bothers me. He can be so dramatic. He's too much. And they are the odd couple, aren't they? I just don't get it.

Tom, Tom, Tom........... Round 1Brooke & Tom's War of the Words by Sarah Hall @ E!online www.eonline.com/NewsBrooke Shields has officially engaged with Tom Cruise in what is fast becoming a celebrity war of the words.
After Cruise criticized Shields' use of antidepressants as "irresponsible" during an interview with Access Hollywood last week, Shields has suggested the leading man keep his opinions to himself.
"Tom Cruise's comments are irresponsible and dangerous," Shields said in London last week. "Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens and let women who are experiencing postpartum depression decide what treatment options are best for them."
Shields recently published Down Came the Rain, a personal chronicle of her struggle with depression following the 2003 birth of her daughter, Rowan. The memoir delves into the actress' use of Paxil as a form of treatment for her condition and is meant to inspire other women to seek help.
"Don't be ashamed and don't disregard what you are feeling," Shields writes in the book. "I recovered only because I got help."
The actress has said she is currently in the process of weaning herself from the drug in order to try for a second child with husband Chris Henchy.
However, as a dedicated follower of Scientology, Cruise is of the belief that mid-altering medications of any kind are "dangerous" and that women should treat conditions such as postpartum depression with "vitamins." Hence his stamp of disapproval on Shields' choice to use Paxil and to discuss that choice in her memoir.
"When you talk about postpartum, you can take people today, women, and what you do is you use vitamins. There is a hormonal thing that is going on, scientifically, you can prove that. But when you talk about emotional, chemical imbalances in people, there is no science behind that," the actor told Access Hollywood.
"When someone says [medication] has helped them, it is to cope, it didn't cure anything. There is no science. There is nothing that can cure them whatsoever," Cruise said.
Cruise went on to make a not-so-subtle jab at the former Suddenly Susan star's professional life.
"I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is an incredibly talented women, [but] look at where has her career gone."
Ouch. True, Shields' latest pilot, New Car Smell, was recently passed over by Fox, but the actress has been earning positive reviews in the role of Roxie Hart in the London theater production of Chicago.
Meanwhile, as anyone not living under a rock knows by now, Cruise's latest project, Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, is scheduled to open June 29.
Though one would Cruise to become increasingly visible as the film's premiere date approaches, it turns out the public may actually see less of the actor than in recent weeks.
Paramount and DreamWorks have cut out the usual promotional press junket in favor of a smaller number of "preselected interview sessions," DreamWorks exec Martin Levy told the New York Times in an article published Thursday.
Speculation exists that Cruise's increasing passion for discussing both his religious beliefs and his feelings for new girlfriend, Katie Holmes, led to the decision to cut back on his promotional appearances.
Levy admitted that studio executives had expressed concern over Cruise's well-publicized erratic May 23 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, during which Cruise bounced around the room, on and off furniture, sank to the floor and repeatedly announced his love for Holmes. (At least we can rule out mind-altering drugs.)
"You can have so much attention on a particular issue that maybe the movie doesn't get as much attention as it might," Levy told the Times of the appearance. "It's the topic of conversation, for many reasons."
However, Levy denied the choice to scrap the press junket had anything to do with Cruise, but was made because the movie had already received sufficient promotion.Round 2Shields mocks Cruise and Holmes' romance From www.examiner.ie/breaking/story.asp?j=21983685&p=zy98379z&n=21983892&x= Actress Brooke Shields and Tom Cruise's ongoing feud has intensified - after the Suddenly Susan star mocked the 16-year age gap between the actor and his new girlfriend Katie Holmes.
Cruise - who has helped people fight drug addictions through his controversial Scientology religion - recently attacked Shields for becoming dependant on anti- depressant Paxil, following the birth of her daughter Rowan.
And Shields has continued her war of words against Cruise following his "dangerous" comments, by offering him a child ticket so he can take Holmes to see her in hit London musical Chicago.
She says: "If he wants to see Chicago, I've left him two tickets - one adult, one child."
The actress recently took a swipe at Cruise's religious beliefs, by saying she wouldn't take advice from someone who devotes his life to aliens.

After seeing Tom on Oprah, I think he should keep his opinions on other people's lives & decisions to himself. He acted like a complete . I truly hope Katie will reconsider & pick someone who at least can "act" like an adult. She deserves so much better.

I heard that Cruise bearly gave Holmes a chance to say "no" to dating him. By having a private jet wisk her away to a fancy, expensive resterant with the lure that there was a possiable roll for a movie. On which he stuck her with the ol' bate and switch, and ask her out.
I don't know about you, but after all that, what girl is going to give a guy with the influence of a celebrity the "Sorry-but-I-didn't-ask-you-to-go-through-all-that-trouble-for-me" line.

As an advocate for mental health medication..(as most of you on here know) He is absolutely ridiculous. I dont know much about this scientology religion but it doesnt sound much like a religion to me it sounds horrible. And im not a fan of katie holmes but i definetly dont think shes as into him as he is to her.
He is rude and ignorant and doesnt know what he is talking about. He should open his mind a little bit more to learn more about depression and chemical imbalances and stop acting like he knows everything.

Katie Holmes must be a moron - what kind of woman would let a man "claim" her that way?! She has to be out of her mind! What is this - the 14th century? It can't be, because Tom Cruise is no knight in shining armor.
Well, I guess Hollywood needed a new "joke of the month". They should both be embarassed for themelves and for each other.
Nicole must be really glad to be rid of him!

Did anybody else catch Tom Cruise blistering Matt Lauer during a film interview this past week? I would like to hear people's opinions if you have them. Tom seemed very free to express "his" views with strange vehemence, self posturing, and a demand for responsible debate... To promote his NEW MOVIE?? WHAT?
It merited "Today Show" follow-up interviews on the news.
There is a fine line between expression of one's honest opinions, acceptance of another's and celebrity induced attack during an entertainment interview...HT

Yes, I did happen to catch it when it was replayed later. I could not believe it. I heard Matt Lauer say yesterday morning that at the end when Tom shook his hand, it almost hurt!
I never thought I'd say this, but I cannot stand Tom. Everytime I see him, I just want to scream. What a joke that he knows so much about psychiatry. What a bunch of BS. How does he know what kind of drugs people need and what will help them. He has no clue.
I heard even the Scientology bigwigs are getting a little peeved at him!
He thinks he is an expert at everyone and everything and it is really getting old.
I'm really thinking twice about seeing "War of the Worlds." I saw a recent poll that I seem to be in the majority on that one.
He's certainly allowed to have his opinions, but he should keep them to himself!

Tom is too busy preaching his beliefs and religion. I really don't know what has gotten into him. I admire him for some things, but for some things he does, I think, WTF?

Here’s what I think: If vitamins and exercise help to control your depression, then do it. If an anti-depressant helps to control your depression, then take it. But whatever you do, DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT let Tom Cruise influence your decision on the best treatment for your mental health. Geesh, the arrogance of that man!
