I would like to ask everyone to help me with their theory if they don't mind. I am of Irish decent on my father's side, and English on my mother's. For this theory I am only taking into account the Irish though. I have found in my lifetime that the celebs I tend to be most drawn to are also of Irish decent. i.e. Owen, Kate Mulgrew, Reba McEntire. I am curious if the brain isn't predestined to be drawn towards people of the same decent. Kind of like knowing a kindred soul? How many of you have been drawn to actors of actresses before whom share the same decent as you? Just curious if I am on to something or just reading too much into it all. LOL

I have no theory when it comes to the Irish. I am of French descent with all the trimmings. However, I married an Irish male and have been for several years. When you marry Irish, you become Irish and they forget everything else until bedtime;D .... ( I guess then, it's OK to brag that your wife is a French Mistress...) In any event- There are people who ask me if I'm Irish and a very fine lady once gave me her "answer," which soon became my answer:
"I am Irish by impregnation- Long Live the Irish!!" We celebrate our Irish heritage every day of the year and my sons are the proud offspring of a line that is documented "in a book no less," that includes me in the narrative ! County Cork is our origin and the family came overland by way of the Erie Canal. They worked in the liquor & beer industry and in distribution. A major metro area has a street named after our family moniker due to a great-great grandfather Alderman who must have been an allright Joe... Yes- it is good to cling to a heritage that brings happiness and distinction to your life. I would love to trade Irish tales with the Wilsons and work at outdoing them tale for tale... My hub learned that at his father's knee.... A greater tale spinner has yet to live! HurlT ;D

Very interesting theories, LL & HT.
LL, you could be on to something.
I am Jewish but only by choice, not by birth. People who don't know that about me assume I was born Jewish and have always been Jewish. Therefore, I am recognized as "one of the tribe."
In addition, since childhood, I have always felt that I was supposed to be Jewish. Where in the world I got that notion from, I have no idea. As children, we had those little Golden Book children's series of books. We had the Noah's Ark issue. On the last page was an illustration of the Ark with a rainbow over it. At the peak of the rainbow was a word written in Hebrew letters. At the time, I couldn't read English let alone Hebrew. But I knew the funny markings in there must be very special. So special that I thought them too holy to look at. I would sneak a peak at that page, then quickly close it as if I was looking at something I shouldnt' be seeing. Where I got that notion from, I'll never know...
So perhaps these things are some sort of primal, collective memory breaking through from the subconscious to the conscious.
Anyone else hear the theme music from Twilight Zone playing?
