I didn't really know where to put this one, because it is only slightly related to The Life Aquatic. But I really enjoyed this article. I always enjoy Bill Murray though. Found this on the slowly-being-updated lawnwranglers site. www.newyorker.com/talk/content/?030922ta_talk_rossModified to fix link.

Thanks for posting that Librarian. I'm a big fan of Bill Murray. I thought he was brilliant in Rushmore. I have my fingers crossed for him winning a Golden Globe for Lost in translation. Recognition is long overdue

The Wilsons are really lucky- I would think that having Bill Murray as your personal friend would be a hoot. I have always enjoyed his films and own several; amazed that the laughs and creativity never abate. I went rafting down the Colorado River in Utah 3 years ago and our guide, Alex, a Benjamin Bratt looka-like, began talking about him. Apparently Bill filmed a movie about an elephant on that stretch of the Colorado and Alex was disgusted that, "he was terminally drunk" through the whole shoot. Alex's friend helped the production in some way and Bill gave him a blank check at the end to thank him...Some thanks, Alex may have looked like a dream, but the egotisical little p--ck really dissed Bill. Alex was not too keen on kids either and when my two boys went over the side to swim, he pitched a hissy fit. All it took to change his entire tune & the Bill diss, was my charming, deliberate inquiry into "his course of amazing geological study at the University." Classic case of pandering to a guy's ego. I kept one eye on my kids in the river while he expounded on his intelligence. When my boys finally got back in the boat, they smirked and commented, "great suck-up, mom. We owe ya!" Yeah- Bill you owe me too...
