*sigh* You guys. Thanks for sharing your stories so far. May you have many more bump-ins with lotr folk. And Kumar, thanks for being on the look out for CP. If you see him make him blush for me, will ya? I hear he easily blushes like mad. And worse. He giggles a lot as well. Too cute for words.

I just typed a post, but lost it when I pressed a key, no idea what happened, but if this turns up twice, I appologise. The world premiere of ROTK is on as we speak! Our lucky girl Pollyanna is right now watching the movie!! Ahhh, I am envious but totally happy for her I just got home from Wellington. It's BUZZING in there. Standing room only with 125,000 people watching the parade and red-carpet. I've never felt anything like the atmosphere in there. We Wellingtonians and all of NZ are so happy and proud to be associated with LOTR. I had a great position for the parade. I was right on the barrier, on a corner where the street was really narrow. I had a close of look of all the stars. I got some great photos too, but my camera ran out of film half way through! I missed photos of half of the cast, but thankfully got the ones I was really looking forward to seeing. They were all riding in vintage cars and because I was on the corner they all looked directly at me as they went past! eeeee! One very excited girl here, LMAO I went home to watch the red-carpet and interviews on TV cos I couldn't get near enough to the carpet on Courtenay Place. It was 50 people deep and no room to move. But I got my waves from the stars in the parade so I'm happy The best part of all was seeing Peter Jackson. He looked so happy and we're so proud of him. Go PJ! Orlando Bloom was wearing an "I <3 NZ" t-shirt. He is unbelievably gorgeous in real life. Liv Tyler had a beautiful black dress with diamante neck and a pink flower on the front. She was running around the red carpet with no shoes on. Ian McKellen was wearing leather pants, lol. Elijah Wood has the flu and sounded very croaky! Dominic Monaghan has grown his hair for a movie role (he plays a rock-star) and darn he looks hot! Sean Astin had his cute little daughter there... I could go on forever, but I better stop now or I'll never stop gushing Just hoping my photos turn out, i used a really old film, yikes! Now all we have to do is wait for Pollyanna's report of the premiere (but no spoilers of the film please). GO WELLINGTON!!!!!!!! ;D

OMG!!! I am such a damp mess lol - where to begin - well I don’t think this is a spoiler so let me just say if you are going to see this movie take tissues, lots and lots of tissues, you will need them! You will cry sad tears, tears of joy and just plain deeply moved happy/sad tears. Bugger it! forget the tissues just bring a bucket and mop! The theatre I was in was awash Now the first thing I must say is LL I never meant to mislead you I just made an assumption You see I was invited by a friend to see the movie on December 1st and so I assumed I was going to the premiere. But we were actually at the Reading cinema where the movie was shown, at the same time as the stars etc were watching it, on 10 (I think) screens for journalists and other folks associated with Weta and the making of the movie. Now the good news is I was worried my frock wasn’t flash enough but it turned out not to matter The bad news is I didn’t really get more than a glimpse of a couple of the stars, but the really really good news is I did get to see the movie ,which to be honest was really the main thing and the movie rocked. Insert your own superlatives here Ok I have to be very careful now cos I soooo want to talk about the movie and I soooo don’t want to spoil it for anyone else! Let me just say Peter Jackson has a little cameo, Sean Astin as Sam is just amazing and Elijah shows what a good actor he is. In my humble opinion this movie is more emotional though equally action packed and many of the characters really get to take their acting skills out for a walk this time, in a way that I didn’t feel they did in the first two. I liked this one the best of the three without doubt - it was truly spectacular and if it doesn’t win lots of Oscars well then to the voters. Ok I will shut up now because I am getting ever closer to spoilers here and the temptation may prove too much for me Btw it sounds like you got a great view of the parade LL - awesome! I think it’s really cool that Liv Tyler went barefoot. Also I got to hear the speeches, although there were too many people and I was too short to really see much and the speeches were great!! I can’t wait till the movie comes out properly on the 18th cos I really want to see it again. For the Orlando fans. He rocks in this and some of his stunts woohoo! And for the Viggo fans - you will be a mere pool of drool by the time it’s over he is soooo beautiful I really loved the movie. I thought it was the perfect climactic chapter to the story. I loved the books and of course certain compromises have had to be made in all of the movies, in adapting it to the film medium. However, as a visual interpretation it is a feast and I couldn’t be any prouder of our hometown boy, Peter Jackson. PJ you da man Ok that’s enough gushing from me - time for bed!!! Forgive the ramblings!!! I’m kinda happy here

That is really great Pollyanna! ;D Even if you didn't get to see it at the Embassy, you are so lucky to have seen it at Reading! I love Reading. After I sat on their seats for the first time I made a vow never to go to a normal cinema again I'm still completely jealous, even if you didn't get to sit next to a star and ask for a shoulder to cry on I can't wait to see the film. I love the first two, I'm so excited and the 18th can't come around soon enough. I haven't actually read the books. I started but decided not to finish them as they might spoil the films, LOL *awaits a lynching by tolkein fans* I'm gonna start on them as soon as I've seen ROTK. So, I don't actually know what happens in the end, which is why I asked for no spoilers, sorry to hold you back Pollyanna! I'm even trying to avoid all the reviews so that the ending is a complete surprise for me. Can't wait!

I know you wont be reading the reviews for Return of the King LL as you are saving yourself But they all seem to agree with you Pollyanna. They are saying this is undoubtedly the best of the three. There has also been a lot of talk about PJ maybe getting an Oscar and I really hope he does too! Can't wait to see this a week to go!

There'll be a riot if he doesn't win Best Director. I know for a fact, as I will be starting it

I can't believe you guys. Sounds like so much fun... ;D Ya think I'll have just as much fun going to the cinema and watching ROTK? You better believe it. And LL, I'll be starting a riot right along with you. ROTK better clean up house at the Oscars or else. Altho I don't think Elijah Wood is going to have much of a chance at winning best actor if New Lines campaign for him works and he gets a nom. Never say never tho...I just don't understand why Viggo isn't being pushed for a nomination.

I think they should be pushing for Viggo to get a nom too but I have heard they will be concentrating on Sean Astin - cos word is he may have a real chance too I guess we will see ;D

So glad you enjoyed it Kelley!! It is a great film!
I just saw that it got four noms for the Golden Globes. Best Picture, Best Director, Score and original song. Not a single nom for any of the cast. I was glad they got the deserved four but I really think overlooking Sean Astin and the others for best supporting actor is unbelievable but not unexpected. Bugger.

It's great the movie has been nominated, I just hope the voters have some sense and vote for it! For goodness sake, PJ has produced three, consecutive, AMAZING movies. No one else has done that. Ever. He deserves to win like no one ever has before. I just wish these stupid voters would put aside their political agendas for one second and recognise real talent. I haven't seen ROTK yet. It's all booked out for days here! I don't think I'll get to see it till around New Years. I can't wait!

Wow is all I can say. It is a great movie! LL you have got to go sooner than new years!! I don't know how you can have such self-control. Try seeing it at the Reading cinema - nice comfy seats ;D I don't think it is as booked up as the Embassy

I love Reading, but the Embassy is it's spiritual home! If I have to go to Reading first, I will be seeing it for the second time at the Embassy ;D I'll probably go before New Years, believe me Kumar, it's taking all my self-control not to sneak into the Embassy this minute

Been reading this old thread about LOTR!!! What a thrill for the people of NZ to have all those actors around........Viggo, PJ, Elijah, Orli and the other hobbits............
I SO love these movies...........the BEsT EVER!!!! They're my favorite ever, and the Books...................what a Wonderful Read...........so amazing..............and I don't really ever read stuff like that.
My friend MADE me go see Fellowship of the Ring..................and I fell in love with it!!! (and Viggo) So, I saw Fellowship at the theatre 5 times, with 5 different people, - this from a person who usually saw movies around twice a year - and then I saw the Two Towers in the theater 3 or 4 times, with the same bunch of people who watched FOTR with me. Then, Return of the kIng, I only saw 3 times at the theatre - it left just days before I was going again with a friend from out of town. And, again, my same old 5 friends and I saw the movie. It became our Christmas tradition, and we are SO sad that there are no more coming out! But at least there is still 1 Star Wars left!!Anyway, thanks for all the wonderful reports! I saw a web site once that had Viggo and Owen side by side........... that was Heaven! I almost fainted!! j/k
