I've heard it said that Andrew has directed a few documentaries in the past, but try as I might I can't seem to find any info about them! On IMDB the only thing it says he's directed is The Wendall Baker Story, which he co-directed with Luke.
Luke's been reported saying the Andrew has a "good eye", because of the documentaries he's directed, which was why he asked him to co-direct TWBS. This lack of info has made me really curious about these docos. Does anyone know what the docos are that he's directed before, has anyone seen one?

I read somewhere that he directed the movie "Playing God" back in 1997 I think. It had David Duchovny and Angelina Jolie in it. That is all that I have ever been able to find.

Hmm... it's a bit of a mystery!
I just checked IMDB for that movie, and it says it was directed by "Andy Wilson". It seems Andy Wilson has directed a few documentaries for TV, so it could be our man! Strange though, that IMDB is not aware that Andrew Wilson = Andy Wilson, if that is the case. Usually they are linked together if they're credited under different names.

I don't think Andy Wilson is our Andrew Wilson. Andy Wilson is a British TV director who has directed Cracker, Gormenghast, and Playing God. Here's a link to his bio. www.pbs.org/wgbh/gormenghast/film/crew_wilson.htmlCracker is one of my favorite TV series - with Robbie Coldtrane. I wish it were our man Andrew Wilson.

The mystery deepens! So we've discovered Andy Wilson, isn't our Andrew Wilson, which still leaves the question, just what has Andrew Wilson directed before?

I thought that Andrew had produced corporate Video's in the past - it was mentioned in a Bottle Rocket interview that he had done that and that was how Owen and Wes got hold off some cheap film stock to use for the BR short that went to Sundance. I didn't think he had actually directed any documentaries for TV or anything. Not sure though

Corporate videos?! Oh dear, I really shouldn't find that funny but I do. I'm sure they were very inspiring

All of the Wilson's appear to be incredibly talented, but I think that Andrew will be the one to watch for his input on the Wendell Baker Story. It's a given that Luke will depend on his brother's "eye" to keep the story moving in the right direction and the positive relationship between the pair indictes that Andrew will do just that... I truly hope it develops significant spotlight for them both and I wish them much success.

Hey LL I finally stumbled across the article that mentioned Andrew's documentary making again. It was in a 1996 interview with the Washington Post:- Now relocated to Los Angeles and pursuing an acting career along with his younger brothers, Andrew was the only member of the inner circle with a regular job when "Bottle Rocket" was a long way from realization back in 1991.
"I was making documentaries in Dallas," he explains. "The principal project was a campaign biographical film for Ross Perot. Kind of like 'The Man from Hope,' but it turned out to be an exercise in futility.
"Perot didn't like certain things we had done, especially interviews that were shot in the style Warren Beatty used for 'Reds,' with the subjects sharply lit against dark backgrounds. He thought it made his wife, Margo, look bad - as if her head kind of floated in space. He dropped out of the 1992 race while we were still trying to reattach her head."So I guess if Ross hadn't dropped out and they had managed to re-attach his wifes head then this would have aired on TV
