Not to go against everyone elses hopes that he stays in Austin, but Luke, please go back to LA by July 13th (the day I leave LA).
My hotel is across the street from a park in Santa Monica. Crossing my fingers that he goes running at that park hehehe...

I just got back from Austin this morning. Unfortunately, I did not run into Luke anywhere. I did get to check out some of his favorite spots, though. The first day I was there I attempted biking on the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail (where Luke has said he likes to jog) but I didn't make it to the path he said he takes because it was an extremely hot morning, esp. when you are pedaling uphill! I also rode past the Four Seasons (where he likes to stay) on the Metro bus, but did not catch a glimpse of him. The next day I checked out the Captitol building, the TX State History Museum and the LBJ Library (all very fascinating). I also had an iced coffee at Jo's Hot Coffee (recommended by Luke, of course). I went to a little Tex-Mex restaurant called Maudie's and sampled Luke's favorite dish (very tasty). On day three I strolled down Guadalupe St. and stopped in Einstein's arcade (it's very small) hoping to catch Luke playing a video game...no such luck. I continued further down the street and noticed a flyer hanging outside a little place called the Hole in the Wall. It said a band called Lil' Cap'n Travis (friends of Luke's) was playing there that night. Thoughts of Luke showing up and catching his friends' show ran through my mind so I decided to go check them out that night. They are a great band, but Luke was not there. I wanted to meet them after the show and ask about Luke, but I ended up calling a taxi before they were finished because the place got extremely crowded and drunk people were flailing around in front of me so I couldn't see or enjoy the show anymore anyway. I think that is just about everything "Luke" I did. In case anyone has not made the connection, these are all things he mentions/recommends about Austin in his American Way magazine interview. I had a nice time and Austin is a great city, but it would have been even better if I could have met Luke. Keep Austin Weird!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun!
One wonders if Luke goes elsewhere on the weekends??
