Luke is going to be on Craig Kilborn Thursday night (April 1st). I am not sure if it is a repeat - Merv Griffin is the other guest. Can't wait!

I do hope that the folks that were able to - caught this last night. It was new and Luke was great. More relaxed than I've ever seen him -- and his hair has grown out some. He actually seemed as though he was in a good mood. Oh and he was wearing his talk show "uniform" that red golf shirt and black suit. When he came on the audience went nuts - and some guys kept yelling - "You're my boy blue!". It's the 5th year anniversary for the Late Late Show - and Craig mentioned he was having his "personal" friends on as guests. Last night it was Luke, Merv Griffin, and Aimee Mann. Apparently Luke flew in from NYC for the show. Luke came in with props - since it was the 5th year anniversary he brought in gifts relating to wood. It was pretty funny. Then he and Craig renacted their scene from Old School - but the roles were reversed. Luke did Craig's speech. Luke seemed so slight next to Craig during this little act - I think I've read that Craig is 6'5". Craig mentioned that on the set of Old School that Luke smelled of beer. Luke said he admired actors like Richard Burton and Richard Harris (I thought that was a hilarious reference). Craig asked him how this affected his acting - and Luke replied that he sometimes has problems with his lines and that occasionally his "temper flairs". Too funny. Craig said that Luke was actually a "pro". Luke confirmed that he just recently moved out of Owen's home and that his recent buzz cut is for the movie 3001. As an aside - I enjoyed seeing Merv Griffin again. I realized that I miss his talk show. He always has such a soothing speaking voice - as well as a great singing voice. He sang "Tenderly" (Craig's favorite song) with Aimee Mann. He was careful not to upstage her. You could tell he was trying to match her tone in the duet. Luke stayed on for the rest of the show and he and Merv had a nice rapport. (Merv accidently called Luke Owen ) and Luke took it well. Merv immediately corrected himself though. Something else I've noticed about talk shows with Luke - he always seems physically uncomfortable. He readjusts constantly. He mentioned back problems once - a long time ago. It's either that or his manhood. What's your take on this?

Poetic justice that Luke's only appearance in months and I was not able to see it. I agree with you that Luke seems uncomfortable at times during interviews (forgot his kava-kava?), but he more than makes up for it with his glib responses. He always is pretty quick with a comeback when the interviewer doesn't hop back into the conversation and interrupt him.
That is something I've noted about both Luke and Owen. They do not interrupt- they wait until it is their turn to talk. I bet that behavior was learned at home. Talk show hosts ramble to fill airtime and sometimes it hurts their interviews of the Wilson men. I much preferred Owen interviews without Stiller. Ben is a "silence filler" and Owen does not compete, but politely listens until it's his turn.
As for Luke fidgeting, you may have point about southern extremities or he needs a new pair of trousers. Somebody in wardrobe- take this man and just get him some new duds. I'm all for the LL Bean look myself, but if I see one more paparrazi photo of that gray/maroon plaid overshirt, or that brown windbreaker I will personally send Goodwill by that new house he is finally living in!!

I'll have to watch the show again tonight. I taped it, but watched it in bed last night. I missed the part about Luke coming in from NYC. I totally agree that Luke needs a new wardrobe, although he looks good in black and red. If I was his significant other, I would definitely take him shopping or buy him some new clothes. (I know he's conservative and would rather take clothes from a movie set than buy new ones!) I mean, his "supposed" girlfriend is a model. She probably wears a lot of nice, new things. However, I guess just because you're a model doesn't mean you have the best fashion sense or are fashionable. However, I'd think you'd want your man to look his very best. If it was me, I would be like, "Honey, you can't wear that black suit and red golf shirt again!" I realize most guys don't really care about that kind of stuff or even realize they've worn the same outfit on the same show before, but at least it shows you care. Oh well. He looked great no matter what! It was certainly a pleasant surprise!

Well Shut My Mouth... My husband comes home for lunch today and took one long look at me and said, "Hon- I thought you left that tired old shirt-jac in Texas last year. I know I remember burying it in the pile of hotel towels, before we left..." Not my loden green wide-wale corderoy bigshirt!! Maybe-I said I might give it way, but I made no promises here. I can leather patch the elbows and spruce it up a bit, but this sucker could last another couple years or so...right?? My apologies Luke- Consider an LLBean swap and I will take that spiffy gray/maroon plaid jac in trade for a new look. Actually you could look pretty sharp in loden green and frugality is a virtue, pal ... HT

Tivo didn't record it! And of course, with my luck, it was new! *rolls eyes* I thought Tivo would be reliable, but I guess not. If you all could let me know when and if they do a rerun of this episode it would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks a mill

I want to thank you all for keeping me up late enough last night to watch Luke on Craig Kilborn. I read a lot of "old" postings I hadn't seen yet. It helped pass the time as I'm accustomed to going to bed by 10!
Luke was cute as ever last night. And in his traditional attire. I don't find it so bad, but I tend to dress kind of dorkie sometimes. Yes, he does seem fidgety when on TV but very polite. Just like you described.
He & Craig re-did the bathroom scene from Old School where Craig has that conversation with a silent Luke about keeping things quiet about his affair, not to talk about it like chicks do. But in last night's version, they reversed roles. After the scene, Luke belittled his portrayal of Craig, but I didn't think it was so bad. He did have to stop himself from taking a swig of mouth wash because he was still speaking a line! HA HA. And then, didn't you just LOVE the way he spat it out into the sink? I mean, what FORCE! Hmmmm......
I was amused the way Luke & Merv Griffin chatted with each other in asides. It was as though Merv forgot he was being interviewed and started interviewing LUKE! Good old Merv. I remember very well watching his afternoon talk show back in the 60's. He was a wonderful host. And Luke was very respectful to Merv which is so charming about those well-raised, courteous Wilsons!

OK-- I watched Luke on Craig again last night and did hear Craig say that Luke came in from NYC. So, what do you suppose he was doing there?? Did you guys catch Luke right before Merv started singing with Aimee Mann? They came back from commercial break and Luke was staring in the other direction. All of a sudden Craig said something like, "Luke, pay attention!" Luke smiled and started to say something, but never finished. It was cute!

Wish I had seen it! As to what he's doing in New York, possibly filming 3001? That would be my guess, though I really have no idea Edit: Actually, I'd heard he was filming that in texas, so who knows!

I read once (in an old interview) that he had a place in NYC. I just assumed it was incorrect since I never heard him refer to it and it was just the single reference. I also read in another article that Luke was a bit of a "jet-setter". So maybe he was just there for fun. I don't think 3001 starts filming until April 26th (in Austin). Oh and apparently the name of the movies has changed. UNTITLED MIKE JUDGE FILM (formerly 3001) Feature (Studio) Production Company/Studio: 20th Century Fox Location: Austin Start Date: April 26, 2004 Production Coordinator: Natalie Angel TX Casting Director: Beth Sepko Hotline Notes: Crew positions will be paid. Crew resumes can be faxed to the production office at (512) 220-2597. Casting: See Casting Calls for casting information. Production Office Fax: (512) 220-2597 Link: www.governor.state.tx.us/divisions/film/hotline/crew.htmBut just because it starts filming in Austin on the 26th, doesn't mean they have not started filming scenes elsewhere. And it is odd that Luke cut his hair so early.

Good point, Librarian! I kind of wondered why he cut his hair so early. Maybe they had to film some scenes in NYC. I heard filming in Austin was going to start on April 12th somewhere--maybe imdb.com. It's interesting that they say April 26th. I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Do I ever wish I knew where/when. Austin is just 2 hrs up the road. But it's also a big enough city that you can't just run into Luke randomly - not unless you know his hot spots and were able to hang out at those places all the time. Bummer!!! Although I did read somewhere that he likes to stay at the Four Seasons. Hmmm.....
