I haven't seen it yet either. I was supposed to be off today but had to work. I will have 3 days off this weekend though. Hopefully my planets will align just right, the kids will behave and I can go catch me a little Owen action on the big screen...

Love the interviews. My Athlete's Foot store employment 25 yrs ago pays off and i can tell you those shoes are Puma. Isn't lukes clothing line through Puma? No doubt he got them free. Being a cryer, I'm gonna hold off on seeing this until it's out on DVD. I just don't like crying in public.

I finally saw it over the weekend. LOVED it...LOVED it....LOVED it! It was different than what I expected...much more poignant....and not really as much a "dog" movie as I had anticipated. The commercials don't do it justice. As a Mom of 3 I so totally related to this family. Jennifer is great in it, as is "Marley," but this movie totally belongs to Owen. He is on screen almost the entire time and it is primarily from his perspective. He does a fabulous job. #clap#

This is exactly what I was afraid of when I spoke of NOT taking my kids until I've seen this movie. SourceI don't recall that much swearing in the book... #dontknow# But, if there was swearing in the movie then, according to the MPAA rating system, it should have been rated PG-13. This is exactly why I don't put all my faith in the rating system when deciding if a movie will be appropriate for my children. And also why I was skeptical that this is a "family movie" even though it was marketed as one.

Remi, I think your way is the best way! I admit the trailer should have had some more uhh..."information" about uhh... stuff. But then, if that lady has read the book, she should have thought twice before taking her kid. Marley's death was the most crucial part of the book, obviously the movie will be the same. I dont know about the "sex" stuff, but c'mon, this woman knew about the death scenes. I only half-sympathize with her. (I wish all mums were smart mums like mama remi. )

I know this film and I know this particular moment. It is movie that incorporates the idea of a couple...albeit an ordinary, yet incredible couple. A couple who believes in the dual investment of love for an animal--a pet dog that is welcomed into the busy, successful launch of their corporate lives. They just don't know...
My husband and I snickered continuously as that damned Marley truthfully entered into the arena of our remembered personal past -the sexual scenarios included. In the film, this dog certainly replaced a familial need for procreation, and yet the situation could not help but end with the very issues of human trust and beloved attachment.
The signature of canine love between a selected human pair that ends with familial heartache is not lost on the film world nor my own. It comments strongly that couples have incredibly strong bonds to those pets that may serve to supplant a family or even preceed a child. The involved individuals learn that true caring establishes fertile ground for love of a more lasting kind. For each other- For one another...
Watching Owen's serious presence in this film was a gift for men who can truly relate to animals- My husband comments that this is Owen's greatest film message by far... HT

Thank you for the wonderful review, HT! Give Mr. Tomato some extra spicy stuff for going with you to another Wilson movie... one with a dog and a tear-jerking ending to boot! Even the promise of Ms. Aniston's skinning dipping scene isn't enough to convince Mr. Remi to go with me.

I'll pray for a chance... Ah well, at least I can gloat about (hopefully) seeing it before Hutchie, Les & Lom... Well that's the spirit! Just forget about how some of us saw it on opening day, and just think about all those poor souls you'll still be able to trump! ;D
