I saw the movie today. There were about 12 people in the theatre which I guess is not a good sign for the movie. I thought the story moved a little slow and it did not seem to flow (which I guess could be because of the editing). At one point, I even looked at my watch to see when the movie would be over. Owen was definitely the best thing about the movie and it was not just because he looked hot. Owen portrayal of Jack left you with the feeling that there was something more to Jack then just a scam artist. You at least have some feeling after the movie about who Jack was, I didn't get that feeling from any of the other characters.
The scenes with Andrew got some of the few laughs in the movie (and I've got to say, that Andrew looks pretty good without a shirt). I only impression Sara Foster made on me was that I could not figure out how she could have such skinny thighs (it doesn't seem humanly possibly).
My initial feeling about the movie was that I didn't know if I could sit through it again, which is saying alot considering how many times I have seen Owen's other movies. However, I think that if I have the time, I will go see in again. Who knows, maybe I was focusing to much on Owen, to appreciate the finer points of the movie.

Yes, I can honestly say that I liked the movie better the second time, because there are some VERY subtle little hints as to the twist in the plot that I picked up on the second time. I was suprised though that Sara Foster didn't bother me as much as I thought, as long as she wasn't touching Owen

I liked the review in People this week:
The preternaturally cool Wilson is amusing enough, but Foster, a tall, skeleton-thin model-TV hostess making her movie debut, is beyond abysmal. Watching her try to summon up and expression-any expression-is akin to seeing a hapless gameshow contestant mentally flail for an answer before blurting out a laughably erroneous choice.

Gee, with reviews like that one, do you think SF will get the hint?

What was Babe Newirth's line in the movie, oh yea, "I hate that her" (Nancy). Okay, now I have to say, that I feel sorry for Sara Foster. It was her first movie and lets face it, the Director hired her because she looks good in a bikini and not her acting abilities. Lets face it, men are pigs.

Now, that reveiw almost made me feel sorry for her. ALMOST being the key word. You're exactly right, Mac! That is the only reason they hired her, but I'm gonna have to disagree w/ you on the men are pigs, thing. Not all men are pigs. Most are pigs. Some are really sweet and think of the lady before themselves, which evidently the director didn't.

Thanks for your insight- I am finagling my way to the closest screening of this movie and having little success... I won't even peep about-you know-who in a bikini if I can travel the 100 miles to see it before it gets officially yanked by WB cinema...

This was in the Dallas Morning News Cowboys beef up 'Bounce' 09:54 PM CST on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 By ALAN PEPPARD / The Dallas Morning News Owen Wilson isn't the only famous Dallasite in the new movie The Big Bounce. Look for former Cowboys receiver Mike Renfro and running back Tony Dorsett in a scene with the middle Wilson brother (a former S&D Oyster Co. waiter turned Academy Award nominee).Mike is pals with the film's producer, Steve Bing. That name may be familiar as the heir to a real-estate fortune who sought a DNA test when Elizabeth Hurley claimed he was the father of her son, Damian. The test was done and ... Yahtzee! ... he was the father. Mike was originally introduced to Mr. Bing by former Cowboy Doug Cosbie (now a Los Angeleno). Mr. Bing cast Mike and Tony as construction workers who are in a scene with Owen. I didn't really post this cos of the TBB reference I just didn't know that Owen had been a waiter! Hey want to take my order

You're... hungry Linney?? You've just seen that movie more times than the average cat, girl--Go to bed and dream that wild dream again... This time don't wake up until it's a done deal! That said ...when did you change your signature pic to all these shirtless Owens?!
PS: Humor aside - Your poem WAS "romantic" and NOT "suggestive"- It was a sweet wish for all of US who love the Wilsons- THANKS for your sharing!! HT

Awe...thanks Hurl...I like to think of Owen as romantic instead of just like ripping my clothes off! I changed the pic just a few minutes ago. I felt a half nude Owen was in order But seriously, thanks for the nice words.

Yay!!! I just happened to turn the TV on and BBC world's Talking movies show was on and they put on a piece on The Big Bounce and had a little interview with Owen!!! I was so thrilled because I don't get HBO or have E! and although I manage to see quite a bit via the net, my conn is slow and the quality is never TV quality so this was like the ultimate treat for me!!! They usually repeat the Talking Movies show a few times in a 24 hour period so for anyone who gets BBC World you might be able to catch it. I'm gonna video it! I get to see something related to Owen on TV er well about once a year if I'm lucky Btw they said nice things about Owen! But they said the movie should be buried under a snowdrift Still that wasn't enough to curb my enthusiasm On edit: a clip of most of the piece is available on their website if you Click Here It is available for Real or Windows Media players.

Thanks for that Polly. Owen looked great as usual. And I like what Morgan Freeman said about taking a role & just having fun. At least the stars took away something good from the movie, even if it not good reviews.

Please Poll- Let's not waste good Guinness when all she really qualifies for is a single tap of rotgut "light" beer. I feel like a fortune teller after seeing this movie. Damn but I traveled 100 miles on a day off to sit through an afternoon matinee, alone with two other women and a single guy sitting way in the back (my thoughts exactly RIM!) They would not have wasted the Guinness on the girl- I needed the Guiness to "cool off" after seeing our guy on screen
