Now picture this
In the rarefied world of photojournalists, the equivalent of street cred is a shout-out in the Royal Photographic Society Journal. That's what Dallas photographer Laura Wilson (mother of Hollywood hotties Andrew, Owen and Luke Wilson) got in the December issue. [/i]
In the periodical's list of the best photo books of 2004, Laura's Avedon at Work in the American West received special notice. According to the magazine, "The book is illustrated with Wilson's superb photographs, and infused by the sometimes tragic stories of the sitters: unemployment, divorce and death (a letter from one sitter's mother tells of his subsequent brutal murder). With Avedon's death this year, the book becomes a fitting tribute to the genius of the man."
END.
Congrats to Laura!
