Yea! Great, Great News.... More Owen Wilson Movies.... Is Owen Wilson becoming Woody Allen’s new muse? From the Hollywood Reporter February 18, 2010 By Jay A. Fernandez and Borys Kit Owen Wilson is attached to star in the new Woody Allen movie that will shoot this summer. As with all the writer-director’s film work, Allen is keeping the untitled feature’s story line and characters hush-hush, and it’s not clear how big Wilson’s role is. In November, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, France’s first lady, mentioned that Allen had seduced her into taking a role in the film, though the writer-director’s camp would not confirm. Spain’s Imagina is selling the new project in Cannes. The UTA-repped Wilson most recently voiced a supporting role in Wes Anderson’s animated “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” The actor has also voiced the title role in the Fox comedy “Marmaduke,” which hits theaters in June. Beyond that, Wilson will appear in two December releases: James L. Brooks’ untitled project for Sony and the “Meet the Fockers” sequel coming from Universal. Allen’s next film, “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” stars Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto and Lucy Punch. Its Spanish producer, Mediapro, has a September release scheduled. Allen’s previous film, “Whatever Works,” came out last June.

I have to say I absolutely can't stand Woody Allen or his films, at least the recent ones. I once saw Bananas on tv and thought that was funny but that's one his very earliest films. There's something about him and his work that make me want my teeth to fall out! I'll have to decide nearer the time whether I'll see this film just because Owen's in it, after all as I've said in the past I did see half of Anaconda..........................

Um,...dare I say it.... despite his, uh, strange personal life, I love Woody Allen films. I hope I haven't offended anyone!! I can't wait to see this movie.
Lonegazer, I hope it was the first half of Anaconda that you watched. Owen is the only thing that makes that movie remotely watchable. Once he's gone, it's torture to watch to the end.

Woody seems to allow the actors alot of room with their lines, (maybe that's just the way Woody writes his movies, but they seem very natural and inprov'ed to me.) so I think this could be a wonderful chance for Owen to use his improv skills. I haven't seen any of Woody's latest films, but I have enjoyed some of his films in the past. Thank you for the news, Iluvtexas!

I'm inclined to cut Woody Allen way more slack than Roman Polanski. I believe his wife was of age when they got together? It was a depraved thing to do, but not illegal and not of the level of rape if I understand the situation correctly. I tend to like his movies. I loved Annie Hall and there was one with Scarlett Johanssen that I remember liking. I haven't see that many of them I admit.
I would MUCH prefer Owen doing this type of movie than Marmaduke, that is FOR SURE!!!! I'm extremely intrigued by this.

and to add a comment re:Woody Allen & Roman Polanski....I think what Woody has done with his personal life is absurd what RP did with his is beyond any consideration of any sort and he should be held accountable for his choices by going to jail forever....

I didn't get to the point where Owen died so I don't know if that was a whole half, but I'm glad for sure that I didn't spend any money on it! I did order The Minus Man this year as that's never shown on TV and found that odd but interesting enough for me to have seen it twice already. Even if I don't see the WA film, I will go to see the Fockers sequel and the James L Brooks one - both films now apparently being released in December. What a lot of patience we need as Wilson fans! #stampfeet#

I didn't realize how much I liked Woody Allen movies until I went to IMDb for a complete filmography list. There are so many I haven't seen but I've liked 95% of the ones I have seen. My favorites: Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Small Time Crooks, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Radio Days, Hannah And Her Sisters, Manhattan, Annie Hall, Love And Death, Play It Again Sam, Bananas.
Going a bit off-topic, I once saw Play It Again Sam performed live on stage by a community theatre group. It was so hysterical I couldn't catch my breath.
Though I'm in the minority here, I am really glad to see Woody and Owen working together, and that Woody has the good sense to include Owen in his movie! I can't wait to see what Owen does with this. I know it will be great.

Another movie for Owen. My goodness he is a busy boy now.
Interesting collaboration with Woody Allen. Lets see what happens with this one.

And now Owen... Gosh, I might actually consider liking Woody Allen (love his movies, tho)
