Hi Y'all
Here is a link to a you tube video of the Texas Hall of Fame Awards 2009 which took place in Austin last night. It's not the best viewing picture but you can listen to the intro comments made by Thomas Haden Church.
He threw some "zingers" at Luke and Owen.... (Thomas Haden Church on How Owen, Luke Wilson Really Got Their Nicknames) They do make you laugh even if they probably sting just a tad too....

The Ninth Annual Texas Film Hall of Fame induction ceremony, held last night on the site of the old Austin airport, was quite the damp, frigid shindig -- part all-star love-in, part call to arms.
Amidst the inducting -- and feted this year were the likes of Powers Booth (SMU's own), Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, J.R. Ewing hisself and Arkansan Billy Bob Thornton ("My family comes from Richardson, Garland and Greenville") --
There was also the demand that Texas legislators fund a bill that would allow the state to offer at least $100 million in incentives to filmmakers currently shooting in New Mexico and Louisiana.
Insisted last night's emcee, Thomas Haden Church, he's got three Texas-set projects lined up -- and all of them are shooting elsewhere, including in Melbourne, Australia, and Canada. "There are thousands of people here and in Dallas and Houston and throughout the state in need of work," Church said. "Let's make tonight count."
Thomas Haden Church Fun Fact o' the Day: Till recently, he had a house in Greenway Parks.
Church told the well-heeled audience, which included the likes of Kinky Friedman and Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, that New Mexico's bringing in $400 million in movie business -- "a shitload of money by anybody's measure." To which Larry Hagman offered, later, "As my mother said, if you spread the bullshiut around, it all comes back," as he too demanded the state up the measly $22 million set aside for production companies and studios considering shooting in Texas. But enough about business.
At some point today, we'll have video of Luke Wilson accepting the Hall of Fame award for Rushmore #bravo#
a film in which he appears for all of, what, two minutes ?
Till then, after the jump is some video I shot of Church's introduction of the night's inductees -- including Wilson, roasted till medium-well by the night's host.
The picture's of low quality, the woman next to me thought the whole thing high-larious, but the comedy is top-notch. Close your eyes and pretend it's radio.
ANOTHER UPDATE WITH LINK SHOWING LUKES ACCEPTANCE SPEECH...

Luke Wilson Scrubs In to Accept Rushmore's Texas Film Hall of Fame Honor
"As promised this morning, here's Luke Wilson accepting the Texas Film Hall of Fame award for Rushmore -- though, as I vociferously and rather drunkenly pointed out to Texas Monthly president Evan Smith after the ceremony, Luke's in the thing for all of the one scene, so how'd he get the honor? Hell, Andrew Wilson has a bigger role, and he was there last night -- at least, I think that was Andrew Wilson behind Zac Crain's beard. Maybe that's why Luke didn't really, ya know, talk about, ya know, Rushmore. (Besides, shoulda inducted the far superior Bottle Rocket. You know I'm right.) Anyway, nice to see Luke dressed for the occasion.
And I did tell Mr. Texas Monthly that Robocop really should be the next Texas-made film entered into the hall. Evan seemed interested; his wife, more so. Alas, no doubt they'll wind up going with The Faculty just to get Jon Stewart to show. Oh, and did I mention Gail Stanwyk was there last night? She's nice."
HERE IS A SECOND LINK IT DOES NOT SHOW LUKE BUT DOES SHOW PICTURES OF THE EVENT ON THE RED CARPET AND ON THE INSIDE...

"Here's a slideshow some better pictures I took at the Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards last night.
Everyone was super friendly and eager to talk about filming in Texas.
Some of the stars looked older than I expected them to...but that's just b/c they airbrush so much in pics. These are totally raw and untreated. The peeps didn't look BAD - they just looked their ages.
You know who is aging well? Dennis Quaid. He look good. And, contrary to rumors I've heard, he was very cordial and friendly.
Luke Wilson did not walk the red carpet. I saw him inside and decided he probably knew he didn't look good enough for it.
Connie Britton is the cutest thing EVER! Kinda made me want to puch her in the face. Kyle Chandler be pretty cute too.
So, here you go. Enjoy!"

PERSONALLY I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE COMMENTS MADE REGARDING LUKE FROM EITHER WRITER...MY THOUGHT IS "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE???" #phbbbt#
I THINK LUKE'S ACCEPTANCE SPEECH WAS WONDERFUL, THOUGHTFUL AND VERY FUNNY....

P.S. I accidentally did two separate threads on this topic and I don't know how to link them together...So sorry if its confusing...
