Ran across this in the news today....I remember this TV show from when I was a kid...and I remember liking it too...sure hope this is actually true....
P.S. I did not think Starsky and Hutch was campy...Did y'all?

Alias Smith & Jones--An Owen Wilson movie?
Mar 12, 2009
Moviehole is reporting that Owen Wilson let slip on a British radio station that he is taking a look at doing another Western, a big screen version of the comic gunslinger 70s TV series Alias Smith & Jones.
It's currently in re-runs on RTN (channel 27-2 in Orlando) and doesn't seem as promising as the campy Starsky & Hutch he did with Ben Stiller a few years back.
But he's done the slacker/surfer cowboy thing before and people paid good money to see it and him and Jackie Chan.
More of the same so maybe that means it will happen...Sure hope so....
Owen Wilson Wants To Be A 70s Cowboy
Say what you will about Owen Wilson, but he seems like a guy who's not easily discouraged. Even though no one was all that wild about his and Ben Stiller's resurrection of Starsky and Hutch, he's got his eye on bringing yet another 70s TV show to the big screen.
And no, sadly, he won't be playing Wonder Woman. According to Moviehole.net Wilson mentioned on a London radio station that he and an unnamed partner are looking into remaking the show Alias Smith and Jones. Presumably that partner would be Ben Stiller, given the Starsky and Hutch question that came before it.
Apparently Wilson has mentioned before that he'd like to make an Alias Smith and Jones movie, meaning he must be really into the original Western series. Wilson and Stiller, were this to happen, would play a pair of Old West outlaws who are given a get-out-of-jail-free card if they'll start hunting down other baddies on behalf of the governor. Sounds like a half-decent concept for a buddy movie, so if a studio can forget about Starsky and Hutch for a little while, this one may turn up on our screens after all.
