I thought it might be fun for Owen's wardrobe to have it's own "thread." (Pun intended ) There never seems to be a lack of things to comment on when it comes to the blonde one's wardrobe choices. The BFT's, the Blue striped vest, the ball caps, the endless blue t-shirts...... As a way of getting the ball rolling.....is anyone else shaking their head in dismay about his fashion choices on this latest European trip? Just MHO but the rumpled ill-fitting gray suit he had on at the Paris premiere was hideous. #phbbbt# The jeans he had on at the Rome premiere weren't much better. They were too long and stiff... and frankly...looked completely dorky. #haha# And what the heck's up with the fluffy girl scarf he's been wearing lately? Did he borrow it from Kate? It is waaaay too poofy! Kinda reminds me of what this guy would look like if he got made into a scarf. Owen needs a stylist-desperately. Course...he could always go nude. That's OK by me. #devil#

I know this is going to probably make the the oddball here according to other comments made in the past....But here goes....
Maybe it's just me but I think his choices in clothes are fine. I do not think they look bad at all...In fact I admire the fact that he and his brothers are comfortable enough with themselves that they don't have to "dress the part" so to speak. To me it is charming that they all wear their favorite things over and over. I liken it to a comfortable pair of old tennis shoes in that no matter how many new pairs of tennis shoes you might have it is the old familiar ones you pick out first no matter what they look like. I have read many comments from others on this board who critique their wardrobe choices and it just makes me shake my head in disbelief because if they did dress the part all of the time they would be just another "Hollywood clone" and what sets all of the Wilson's apart for me other than they are all pretty to look at and I adore their sense of humor in movies etc. is that they come across as anyone you could meet on the street, casual, friendly and thoughtful.
I know this much on a more personal level... My husband has always been a polo shirt/t-shirt/baseball cap sports guy...His style has not changed much since we met in college that is until he bought his "Harley motorcycle" then all of the sudden it was "Harley this, Harley that" even tho he was the same person with the same sense of humor and still fun and enjoyable as always once he started doing his "Harley thing" it was kinda hard for me to be completely comfortable with that change...I wanted my casual baseball cap, t-shirt, sports loving husband back and I asked him is this "Harley thing" just a phase or is this the new you after all these years....He got the msg....He now is back to baseball caps and t-shirts and only wears his "Harley stuff" if he is going on a motorcycle trip with his buddies...
And for the record I would have gotten use to the "Harley stuff" if he chose to wear it all the time...but I sure would have missed seeing him in a baseball cap and Nike T-shirt....
So maybe it's just me like I said before but I like "the Wilson Boys" just as they are and find it charming and refreshing that they wear their favs all the time. #wink#
PS I even thought it was nice that Owen's suit sort of matched the same colors that were in Jennifer's dress for the Paris pictures...

I don't think you are an oddball at all iluvtexas.....I'm just poking a little fun. I certainly didn't mean to raise any controversy. When I was a little girl I loved playing with those cling paper doll things where you could change the wardrobe a million different ways. Guess old habits die hard..... Owen can certainly dress (or even better not dress : anyway he wants.

No controversy at all & no worries .... I just did not see his choices the same way...I hope I did not cause any problems by saying that....please don't be mad at me...I guess I am just a Levis kinda girl most of the time.... PS I like this topic forum it's a good idea that you had thanks for putting it up...

Normally I like the way Owen dresses because he is so unpretentious and wears the same thing over and over despite all the money he has. I like guys you don't try to be too "pretty." Having said that, I totally disagree with sunsetghost's assessment of Owen's wardrobe for the Rome photo call. I think it's a nice change with the sweater-- and the pants look oh so fine. Nice fit. Thumbs up from how I see it... #cheerleader#

Sunsetghost, I'm glad you started this thread. It's a good fun one. I agree with Iluvtexas. Yes, what you say is true that Owen (and Luke and Andrew) could look so much more hip and fashionable but I like it that they don't seem to be interested in that. ;D That they have the "Everyguy" look is one of the things I find most attractive about them. I do appreciate your viewpoint though. Edited to add a period (.) where I had neglected to put one. (I'm uptight about my writing skills). ;D

I also like that they wear the same shirts repeatedly in spite of how wealthy they are. It demonstrates how down to earth they are. It also shows a lack of vanity. If they were so into their public image and had to consult their stylist about what they should wear before stepping outside, they'd be too self-absorbed. Not that they don't have healthy egos, they're just not obsessed w/having every hair in place. So, let Owen wear a lot of blue. It's a good color for blondes anyway.

Oh yeah, I think Owen looks good in all shades of blue.
His eyes are actually a bit of a chameleon color of blue; the blue of his eyes increases and decreases in accordance with whatever color he is wearing. Sometimes his eyes actually look green. So, that's why I said a long time ago that he fits Elton John's song "Your Song": "....if they're blue or they're green.... those are sweetest eyes I've ever seen."
I like what Caroline said just above. I think she nails it. For me, I think if Owen and his brothers were really state-of-the-art, snappy dressers, it would make them look more formal and thus, less accessible, instead of the down-to-earth people they seem to really be.
