just finished watching the interview - I had never seen his parents. I thought it was funny to see how his dad's smile disappeared when Jay said his mom was very attractive! Well, it was probably just coincidence, but I thought it was a funny brief moment. I was a little sad to hear that he wasn't going to be in Dallas for Xmas, but he'll be with family so that's good. It was so great to see him laughing and enjoying himself. Now I understand the Bartles and James reference. Very nice Christmas present indeed!!!

It was a great interview, very funny! I loved the stories he told about childhood Christmases, and it was really wonderful to see his mom and dad there in the audience! They both looked so happy, and Owen looked gorgeous. I liked his charcoal grey suit and the grey tie. It was fantastic!

Its gonna come on the ture tonight...11 hours to go, I cant wait I just love it when Jay does that. I remember when Russel Brand was the guest, he told Russel, "You may have a baby brother some day" #rofl# But Laura (mom, as I prefer to call her- nothing wrong with a li'l bit of practice #wink# ) is very beautiful. And dad is very handsome too. But I guess that's obvious for even those who haven't seen them. I mean, with those genes... Thanks Shasta! Now I'll go tell my friends "MY parents-in-law are gonna be on TV tonight"

I liked his charcoal grey suit and the grey tie. It was fantastic! Me too! He looked fabulous. (And maybe only Owen can pull off parting his hair in the center and still look great!) Yeah, I know we've heard the same stories before in interviews. But does anyone get tired of Owen's stories and the way he tells them? For someone so uncomfortable with attention he always appears to enjoy himself when he does make appearances on these shows. I guess that proves what a good actor he is. Or the quote of him saying he doesn't like to do them is a misquote. #hmm# I'm glad he isn't going to Dallas for Christmas. That way, I don't have to feel bad that I can't run up to Dallas for the day.

Yesterday night they showed the Robin Williams episode, so today they should show Owen's. I postponed all my plans, incl. late night movie plan until tomoro. And now they show the advertisement of an episode they aired like a week ago. Its not fair, I've been waiting ever since caraboo's post for this. And if they do air O's episode tomoro, I wont be able to watch it... *crying*

SP, no links, but I'm willing to expunge my memory in your behalf . . .
Should I try to recap from re-call or do you want to wait in hope of actual video?

ok, paraphrasing as best I can from memory:
Owen came out and right away he and Jay started talking about past Christmas's. Jay asked him what Christmas was like when they were kids. Owen said at first they would just rip into the gifts and have them all open in 40 seconds flat, without even stopping to look or appreciate. So the next year his Dad came up with a system where his Mom acted as MC and handed each gift out, and they had to open the cards, read them, open the gifts one at a time and look each person in the eye and thank them before moving on. Owen said one year he got a bike, one year he and Luke got a dog, and one year he got a go-cart, which one of his dad's friends came over and souped up for him. He said Andrew ended up driving the go-cart between two trees and bending the tires and then the cart was stolen from the front yard some time later.
The whole time he's telling these stories, he's talking to Leno, but he has his body turned to the studio audience, and that turns out to be because his parents (SP's future-in-laws) are in the audience. I thought that really contributed to him feeling and acting quite comfortable. It was like telling stories around the table at home.
Then Owen moved on to discussing the Fourth of July and his dad bringing home a bag of fireworks. Owen said he accidentally dropped the lighter into the bag and set it off, burning a big hole in lawn. He said it looked like "Apocalypse Now". Owen mentioned his dad used to have a Camaro in the 70's and one time Andrew set a Roman Candle off inside the car.
Leno said he was surprised because his dad seemed like such a sensible guy to be bringing home a bag full of fireworks and Owen kind of laughed and shrugged and said, It was the 70's. Things were a little looser, not so regulated.
