I got sent an email from Google Alerts about this article, see:- www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2008/10/21/owen_wilson_s_best_aamp_worst_filmsThey say in the article that TRT, Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Shanghai Noon and Behind Enemy Lines are his best and The Big Bounce, Drillbit Taylor, I Spy, Anaconda and The Haunting are the worst (with an introduction and comments about all the movies), do you agree? if you could pick your favourite and least favourite movies, what would they be? I did do a quick check of the threads on this forum and I couldn't see the same topic or question asked but if this has been covered before then I apologise but still check out the article if its of interest (or mods move this to the tidbits thread in the Owen general forum, I guess). I have to say that I don't think Drillbit is one of his worst movies, I don't think by any means that its the best movie he's done or that it really challenged him or was a new kind of role but all the same, I quite enjoyed it, I thought he interacted well with the kids (who were quite funny themselves!) and the story was funny and interesting, to me, so I think its a little harsh to include it as one of his worst movies... I have the movie on DVD and enjoy it but maybe thats just me lol I'm one of probably a very few Owen fans, who isn't so keen on Wedding Crashers. I dont know, maybe im a prude or something but I just was never all that keen on the idea and I thought it was kind of a smug movie, in a way... it does have some funny points, more embarrassing-funny or cringeworthy funny (lol), and I do like both Owen of course and Vince, so I feel I should enjoy or appreciate the movie more but I'm not so keen on it... its one of my least favourite movies of Owens, considering all the other ones he's done, that I find much funnier and entertaining over all... Any other opinions?

I agree Drillbit Taylor doesn't deserve to be counted among his worst. I don't think it's his best but it's not his worst either. It's closer to his best than his worst.

I am going to go out on a limb here and if I were tied down with a gun to my head, I might just say that Anaconda and The Haunting, would be his worst movies. However, his worst is far better then many's best.

Owen is one of those actors that is always a shining light in any movie he's in... so the movie may be bad overall but it certainly can not be blamed on Owen.
In my opinion... I'd say Anaconda was his worst... And it would be a 3 way tie between Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tennenbaums and BottleRocket for this best.

Anaconda, was the worst movie, in my opinion because we had little Owen, who BTW was too skinny in the movie for my liking. Most of all, I had to sit thru like 2 hrs of Jennifer Lopez...Yeesh! Talent wise, The Royal Tenenbaums wins in my opinion, for writing AND acting. #bravo# Only acting wise, its Bottle Rocket for me. #applause# As buddycoms, Zoolander scores the highest for sure. I think Owen was okay in I Spy - it was Eddie Murphy who was unbearable. #sick# As far as drool quotient is concerned, I think the award is shared by Zoolander, Starsky and Hutch and The Wedding Crashers. Oh, and seeing the trailer, I'd like to award Marley and me the 'Heart-melting Thing Of The Year'

Everyone, go back and read Libby's post and this time pretend its mine Owen is one of those actors that is always a shining light in any movie he's in... so the movie may be bad overall but it certainly can not be blamed on Owen. Couldnt agree with you more.

Oh I wouldn't blame lacklustre scripts on Owen, unless, of course, he wrote, or co-wrote, the movies himself... I agree with Librarian and SP, I like that phrase, 'drool quotient' yum lol I agree, Marley and Me is going to be a really cute movie im sure! yay

Oh, and the award for Best On-Screen Chemistry goes to Owen and Vince. Those guys were so good together in The Wedding Crashers, it was actually a little sad to see their 'retirement' from the Wedding Crashers industry Honourary mention to Ben Stiller-Owen Wilson. Jeremy: I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, John, I'm fried. John: Soft mattress? Jeremy: Yeah, that could've been it. Could've been the soft mattress, or it could've been the midnight rape. Or the nude gay art show that took place in my room. One of those probably added to the lack of sleep. John: Try one of these scones, you're gonna love them. Jeremy: I'm a little too traumatized to have a scone. Let's move. #rofl#
Lom, you and I are probably polar opposites, because my views are just the reverse. The Wedding Crashers comes in my top 5 Owen movies while I'm not really warm to YMAD... I like TWC becuz its an offensive, naughty movie but never cheap, vulgur or disusting. I love the Owen-Vince chemistry and I wanted to see more of it. In fact, the movie was too romcom for me As far as YMAD is concerned, firstly, I just couldnt imagine Matt Dillon and Owen to be best friends. They didnt have that energy that we see onscreen in Zoolander, Starsky&Hutch or TWC. Secondly, despite being good actors, neither Matt nor Kate could do much with their roles. The movie became so real life at times, I actually found it boring. Despite the presence of three very funny guys, Michael, Seth and Owen, it just wasnt funny enough for me. Maybe that's because I'm allergic to romcoms, or maybe it just wasnt crazy enough for me. #dontknow# I prefer normal character with a crazy streak.

Ok I just remembered to check this thread *doh* lol well thats fair enough SP, of course different people like different movies I just felt that WC was too much of a one joke kinda movie and it went on a bit too long but thats not to say that it isn't funny at all, its just not one of my favourite movies he's done... whereas I liked Dupree because of the zaniness I suppose you'd call it, I liked the character and I thought the story was really funny

>>TRT, Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Shanghai Noon and Behind Enemy Lines are his best and The Big Bounce, Drillbit Taylor, I Spy, Anaconda and The Haunting are the worst << I agree, except You Me & Dupree, Starsky & Hutch, Drillbit, Marley are among the best, and Darjeerling, Royal Tannenbaum and Steve Z. in the worst category. I know Owie co-wrote those films, but I don't get that kind of humor. Also, I can't really put them in the 'worst' category. More like a 'sorta good but not really great' category. 'Cause anytime I'm seeing Owen onscreen, it's all good
