Here's another confirmation about this movie... SourceJim Lehrer was recently on Imus in the Morning and confirmed this.

Great news, Remi!
I heard Mr. Lehrer's interview on NPR about this book. I think Mr. Lehrer said he used to work at a bus station when he was young. While on the air, he demonstrated his rendition of a bus announcer. It was priceless.
Yeah, I can picture Luke as a bus driver - a really hot one, of course.

Yay more Luke stuff! And here we thought all he's been doing lately is "drinking coffee".

There's always room for coffee.
This is interesting news. Thanks!

When I first learned that Luke was adapting this book, I read it. It was similar to a Walter Mitty story - but not at all as light hearted. It is a bit of downer. I can't wait to read/see Luke's interpretation!!!! I hope Andrew directs as well!

I just finished reading the book, and I see what the mean when they say it would be a hard sell. While it's easy to see Luke as the bus driver, it was difficult to imagine the rest of the cast. (Except maybe Harry Dean as Mr. Abernathy?)
I'm trying to take consolation that one of my biggest complaints is that usually movies are nothing like the books they're based upon. In this instance, that might be a good thing. Like Librarian said, it's not really all roses and sunshine. It's hard to imagine Wilsons making a movie without humor though . . . #unsure#
