I made a new category b/c there will likely be more golf news. BTW, I seriously can't stand that this publication refers to him as the 'Wedding Crasher' star. How hard is it to fact check an article?
It should also be noted, for those of you who don't follow the sport, that John Daly (the tourny's name sake) is a well known alcholic who has even had to leave tournements mid way through b/c he's too hung over to play golf. Knowing how much my guy likes to have his drinks I think this should be a really fun tourny to watch.

Members of the PGA and LPGA tours, musicians, actors, former NFL greats and even a U.S. Ski Team member make up the list of celebrities announced on Wednesday who will be on hand for the John Daly Lions Heart Invitational at Murder Rock Golf and Country Club on Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
The pro-am tournament will feature teams of five players joined by one celebrity and will serve as a fundraiser for the Ozark Mountain YMCA.
The Invitational will be making its debut at Murder Rock. It has previously been held in Tunica, Miss.
Among the headliners of a group of 20 celebs who will join Daly are “Wedding Crashers” actor Luke Wilson, former Rams running back Marshall Faulk, “Hercules” star Kevin Sorbo, Loverboy lead singer Mike Reno and Hootie & the Blowfish lead singer Darius Rucker.
Murder Rock club pro Chris Meade isn’t surprised by the wide variety of celebs who will be on hand, given Daly’s charismatic nature, outgoing personality and personal interests.
“That just comes from who John is,” Meade said. “He’s always surrounded himself by characters who are as unique as he is, and John has a wide range of fans and friends. A lot of John’s friends are musicians, and at times John is even a musician himself.”
Other celebs who had confirmed as of Wednesday their appearance at the tourney are “King of Queens” actor Gary Valentine, KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer, former Chiefs great Art Still, former Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart, LPGA player Jan Stephenson, former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar, “Felicity” actor Venice Glenn, PGA player Robert Gomez, singer Samantha Cole, U.S. Ski Team member Terry Ahola, “Home Improvement” actor Richard Karn, former Packers tight end Sterling Sharpe, “Rescue Me” actor Jack McGee and “Apollo 13” actor Clint Howard.
Among the celebs, in addition to Stephenson and Gomez, reputed to being capable of holding their own on the links are Wilson, Faulk and Still.
“People are surprised Luke Wilson is a very good golfer,” Meade said. “He’s not Tour-quality by any means. But you could take him around to a lot of courses around here and he would clean house.”
“My experience is NFL players can hit the ball pretty far,” event coordinator Katie Steele-Danner said. “So, it should be an interesting long-drive contest.”
A one-of-a-kind long-drive contest will take place on Oct. 1 on the runway for the future Branson Airport.
“John won’t need much encouragement to take part in that,” Meade said.
A concert featuring Cole, Reno and Rucker will be also held on the runway on Oct. 1.
