Thanks for that Remi. I think it's nice he stays in touch with people that were around at the start of his career.

That's amazing news. These Wilson boys never cease to amaze me. How many other big Hollywood stars would go to such lengths as visiting a former co-worker from so long ago in hospital? And then to put them into a movie. Amazing!
Gee, I was trying to get a job at Parkland, but they have a hiring freeze.
So, Parkland and S&D Oyster Co. get added to the list of Wilson "shrines."
But I thought Owen had at least one other job - pool cleaner? I read it somewhere. Proof we can't believe everything we read.
I hope Mr. Johnson gets well soon. I'm sure a visit from Owen must have boosted his spirits.

Owen said he was a pool cleaner and he worked at Blockbuster during the time he & Wes were writing Bottle Rocket. These interviewers need to check their facts with us before they write. LOL

Thanks, Thumper. I was pretty sure about my facts.
Hmm... I wonder which Blockbuster Owen worked at. It might have been in Houston because I also read somewhere that they moved to Houston to write Bottle Rocket. True?

yes he worked as a mail guy I believe I remember reading it in the playboy interview (atleast I think it was the playboy article) that he was talking about how he would disappear for hour on end and go to the book store or whatever. That was when he was in college. he said it was a job where he tried to make them think he was incapable of doing anything. ha ha.

Linney, now that you mention it, I remember that too. It sounds like he might have been a server for a law firm. Could that be correct? I'll have to re-read the article because there was so much in it.
The job required him to make deliveries. Yes, I remember him saying that he played dumb. He would return to the office and overhear the people there talking about how dumb he was.

LOL Does anyone have any info on what jobs Wes worked before Bottle Rocket? I'm not sure if I've ever read anything about it. Or if I have I'm totally forgetting right now.

No, sorry, I know very little about Wes' history. I don't even know if he still has family in Houston.

The job required him to make deliveries. Yes, I remember him saying that he played dumb. He would return to the office and overhear the people there talking about how dumb he was. And it would sort of hurt his feelings, but he'd have to remind himself that he had convinced them to feel that way so he could do as little work as possible.

Sadly. Warren died Tues July 27th, when Owen was in Melbourne. He succumbed after a year long battle with cancer.
