While doing an internet search of Owen I came across this. It's very interesting and well written. I really like her views. Check it out and is there really going to be a 3rd installment in the SN, SK movies? www.antonellagambotto.com/NonfictionOwen.htm

I love the part about Owen's "humor comes on little cat feet". It's been a while since I read this. Thank you for posting the link Dee! I haven't read anything official on the 3rd Shanghai movie...anybody else?

Thanks DeeM1962 for posting that link! One particular thing in that article stood out to me, that I didn't like: Quote from the article: "In Behind Enemy Lines, he (unconvincingly) plays the rebel to his father’s favorite actor, Gene Hackman. "You wouldn’t know the first thing about serving your country!" Hackman in uniform bellows. (Wilson manfully swallows, but looks just about ready to crack up.)" WTF!!! Give me a break! This is why some actors don't branch out into more diversified roles - because they are niched to bits. Not necessarily by themselves, but by others (casting directors, media, etc.). I don't give a rat's dupa what some journalist's opinion is - I think that Owen did a spectacular job in "Behind Enemy Lines". In this fan's opinion, he proved that he is perfectly capable of not only performing in a serious role, but also in a lead role, all while holding his own against a seasoned veteran like Gene Hackman. It is clear to me that Owen can pull-off not only comedy, but action and drama as well - and he does a fine job! I for one, would like to see Owen in more nitty-gritty roles. I love him in comedies - and am most looking forward to "The Wedding Crashers" out of all his upcoming movies. However, it is refreshing to see him in a role that's apart from the norm for him. Ideally, I think it would be great to see Owen continue making buddy comedies, but to also throw in another type of film every other year or so (i.e. BEL, TMM, etc.). It's true though, that the negative often overshadows the positve (unfortunately)! So I'll say, that rant aside - I thought the article was quite positive about Owen. There were quite a bit of compliments paid to O regarding his niched roles - I just wish films that stray from the norm were appreciated as well. I swear I'm not in a "mood". I just get a bit irked when people put-down his performance in BEL. I COMPLETELY understand that there are many people who did not like the movie or did not think the movie was good - but that shouldn't be confused with O's performance - especially considering that this was that first type of role for him. Oh well. I guess I'm apt to wildly defend our O till the end! (I like using "wildly" and "O" in the same sentence!) ;D ----Zipping my lips now (or I should say - Sitting on my hands)---- ;D
