I don't know who Larry Bud is but I'm sorry to hear of his death.
I'm sure that Owen, as a friend to Woody, will support him as a friend would and attend Mr. Harrelson's funeral.

Wow, he was alot younger than I thought he would be.
I actually had one of his albums... I'll have to see if I can find it.
RIP Mr. Ho.

#sad# Bye Don. We'll miss you. I was reading in the paper not too long ago that he'd been ill. My grandmother loved him.

I'm not sure if a former president's wife qualifies as a "celebrity," but I'd like to acknowledge Lady Bird Johnson's passing last Wednesday, 7/11. She was the widow of former president Lyndon B. Johnson, and she died at age 94 in Austin. She will forever be remembered as an advocate for city and highway beautification with the planting of flowers and trees. If you have wildflowers along your highway, you can probably thank Lady Bird for having something to do with that. She could almost be called the original environmentalist - before there was such a word as 'environmentalist.'

Tammy Faye Bakker (Messner) died on Saturday. I am old enough to remember the Jim Bakker/Jessica Hawn scandal back in the 80's. Tammy was on "The Surreal Life" a few years ago and was a total hoot. She was also featured recently on her son's reality tv show "One Punk Under God". Jamie Bakker is a preacher like his father, except he preaches to prisoners, drug addicts, alcoholics and bikers-----he often preached at a biker bar. A very different guy than his father. He and his sister had a lot of nice 'scenes' with their mother on his tv show. His sister had been caring for their mother. Anyway, I know all the articles will talk about her mascara-laden eyelashes now that she's gone, but I thought she seemed like a pretty neat lady who adored her two children. seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2003800478_tammyfaye22.htmlBeth

Thanks, Beth, for your remarks about Tammy Faye. I can't say I was a fan of hers, but I did admire her for her spunk and class and optimism, especially in relation to her terminal illness. She was a trooper to the end, and the person who poked the most fun at her famous eye makeup was she herself, so I admire that too.
On a different topic, actually Lady Bird shares the "title" of environmentalist with Rachel Carson. I forgot that Mrs. Carson's ground-breaking book, Silent Spring, was published in 1965, during the Johnson administration.

Tammy Faye Bakker (Messner) died on Saturday. Did anyone see her the other night on Larry King? Click here. I was SHOCKED to say the least. She was hoot and very loved by people. God bless you, Tammy Faye.

I did. I had to turn it off after awhile because it really disturbed me. Got to give her a lot of credit going on TV feeling the way she did. She's in a much better place now.
