I'm just curious, what concerts has everyone been to? My friends and I were talking about all the bands we have seen and I thought it would be cool if we all listed who we have seen. Here's my list but I know there's like at least 10 bands I'm forgetting. In no particular order:
Beck Guided By Voices - 6 times Elf Power - 3 times The Sunshine Fix - 4 times Circulatory System David Grubbs Mojave 3 Pipes You See, Pipes You Don't The Instruments The Ladybug Transistor The Late B. P. Helium The Sea and Cake Mum Califone Call and Response Essex Green The Minders Visitations Helio Sequence The Few Silver Sunshine Summer Hymns Masters of the Hemisphere Airplanes The Flying Arrangement The Brown Orchard Funcondump Brown Interior Orchestra (I played the singing saw with them once, no joke) Andy Asteroid Fisher J. Price
Who are bands you would like to see? Here's some of mine:
Jim O'rourke (I must see this man play live before I die) David Bowie Tortoise Radiohead The Flaming Lips Franz Ferdinand Oval J Mascis & The Fog Bjork Tori Amos The High Llamas Broadcast Mouse on Mars Elton John (don't laugh I love him!) The Olivia Tremor Control (they are my favorite band that broke up but they re-united for a few shows, so my hopes are up) Bands I wish I could have seen before they split up: Gastr Del Sol The Beatles (though I'm a bit too young) The Olivia Tremor Control Soundgarden (don't laugh, I love them!)

Yes but I haven't heard of half the bands you have mentioned! I first saw Bowie in 1984 (It was the first big rock concert I ever went too. It was called the Serious Moonlight tour and he came out and did the "alas poor Yorrick" bit with the skull. I remember thinking he was the coolest guy on the planet!!) - there are people on this board who weren't born then Geee I feel sooo old ;D

Yes but I haven't heard of half the bands you have mentioned! Yeah, I'm just really into music so I dig so deep I end up finding these great obscure bands, or friends recommend them to me. I'm a music junkie.

In fact my screen name comes from a song called "Black Foliage (Itself)" by The Olivia Tremor Control
The lyric goes: "You are the subject of sketches I made for a sculpture in sound."

Great thread Sculpy, I have been to see so many bands I would be here an eternity listing them all. I'll start with my first and to this day one of the best definitley top 10.... U2 age 13 at the Barrowlands in Glasgow....small venue, was up the front 'till I got crushed and dragged out... Was the start of my relationship with random boys/men lifting me up and putting me on their shoulders to see the stage.... Hee! 22 years later and it still happens, the last concert I went to, Velvet Revolver a crowd of 21 year olds were stood next to me and kindly gave me a shouldery... Some times it pays to be short also it was a fantastic concert, Scott Weiland and Slash are amazing to see, real rock'n rollers. Anyway thats the first and last concert.... I went to see Madonna while in Canada, I really did'nt want to go and see her, but it turned out to be one of the best gigs I have been to and I became a fan overnight. The worst gig thus far was last year, The Fun Loving Criminals, they were awful. I had such high expectations of them, they were very dissapointing. Bands I would love to see or have seen in the day... Bowie he was supposed to headline The T in The Park festival last year, but pulled out due to ill health...too bad that would have been awesome. Hunky Dory was one of the first albums I was given as a kid. I was gutted when he did'nt play the festival. The Beatles, especially John lennon, I adore all of Lennons work, who could fail to be moved by "Mother"? I would have also liked to have seen the Stones in their hey day. Hendrix and Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin.... Waiting for the last batch of T in The Park tickets to be released then I can score The Foo Fighters off my to see list!

Unfortunately I have not been able to go any concerts recently ...oh and it's funny, I didn't go to their concerts, but I did party with memebers of Smashing Pumpkins and Jane's Addiction

I was listening to the Pogues today and wished I could have see them in concert before Shane McGowan finally kills himself with alcohol poisoning. I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen The Proclaimers live either...so much for being a passionate Scot. I can recommend seeing 1 or 2 scottish bands...Franz Ferdinand are excellent and have been touring the U.S recently. Dogs die In Hot Cars...currently playing in Austin sxsw. Eddi Reader...she's more Scottish folk, haunting voice, makes the hairs on your arms stand end. I have a very eclectic taste, one of my favourite gigs was seeing Barry White at the Edinburgh Playhouse. He could barely contain his laughter at the Scottish brogue singing back at him... "ma furst, ma lastah, ma evri'thin..."
