Music I'm listening to/bought recently. Duffy, Radiohead, Coldplay. I've also rediscovered Stevie Wonder, think he may be gigging in Britain soon. Recently went to the Radiohead gig on Glasgow Green , was soaked with rain and wine (long story) right through to my pants , was a great gig. You know they were trying to be environmentally friendly as possible? One of the things they did was to use L.E.D lighting instead of traditional par can lighting...it was amazing and very trippy. The band sounded awesome, note/pitch perfect. Great night pity about the torrential rain. Also thought I'd mention, I went to see The Kings Of Leon a while back and they have now shifted in to my top 3 best bands I've ever, ever, ever seen...if they ever come by your neck of the woods go see them, you won't be disappointed.

right through to my pants the water or the wine?! Lunk i get what you mean. Last year, this time, I wanted to go to Simon Webbe's one night concert, but the tickets started @ Rs.1000, which is equivalent to my monthly allowance. He was fresh out of the band Blue and i was hoping to get the phone no. of his ex-bandmate and my then crush, Duncan James. Sheesh!

I think it's unfair that the tickets cost so much, and I'm not sure I'd spend more than 70-80 euros (overall cost) to go to a concert, even if I could afford those amounts...

I've just downloaded Swedish band Billie the Vision and the Dancers' new album "I Used to Wander These Streets" and it's simply fantastic! I think it's gonna be my summer soundtrack. If you want to listen to it too, you can download it for free here: www.billiethevision.com/music.phpAnd if you like it, you can also download their previous albums. Oh, it's so good that they decided to put their music on the web for free.

I know people were complaining about the price of the Backstreet Boys planned concerts in South Africa too, though they ended up being cancelled since one of the members dad died... but they were going to have a couple of concerts and there was an article all about the fans being annoyed at how expensive it was, the same as what you said, about a months salary for a ticket! their not so expensive here, someone must be being pretty greedy... but I guess in Africa at least, they have alot less money to spare for such things... I dont know if its the same in your area of India, possibly(?). You dont want to know how much I've spent on tickets and the VIP package for the one and only show I went to this year though lol... its scary...

I am not sure where to post this. #unsure# I thought I would try here...anywho this is an interview with a fellow classmate of Owen and Luke. The fellow being interviewed is Rhett Miller a singer. From the interview his music sounds like it might be kinda earnest, will give it a listen... I just thought others might find the question about school with Owen and Luke a fun read... #wink# **************************** Pop Quiz: Rhett Miller Aidin Vaziri Friday, March 20, 2009 Rhett Miller, a vastly underrated singer-songwriter and occasional front man for the Old 97's, is playing a brief solo acoustic tour. Calling from his home in New York's Hudson Valley, Miller said fans can expect to hear plenty of favorites from the past 15 years as well as songs from his forthcoming self-titled solo album, a work he calls intensely personal. "I think it's fantastic," he said. "Of course, I'm still in the middle of it, so I have no perspective." Judge for yourself when Miller plays next Sunday at Yoshi's San Francisco. Q: You don't have a new CD to promote and you're actually just playing for fun? A: Yeah, keep swimming or die, like a shark. Obviously, it's not bad to go out and make money to feed the kids because they insist on eating every day. Q: So what else can people expect besides giving you their money? A: That's pretty much it. I just like the vibe of Yoshi's; it's so nice and clean. I spend so many nights in gross dressing rooms that I've started to think, "Is this really my life?" Q: Are your relationships as messed up as the ones in your songs? A: You haven't heard the new record yet. The really tough times from my late 20s and early 30s are still very fresh in my memory, and I have no trouble drawing on that well of anguish and heartbreak. But the murders are all fiction - I have alibis. Q: Lots of critics have said that you're too good-looking to have any relationship problems. A: That's nice. I'll take it. It is what it is. It's like if you live in a nice house, you always want a nicer house. I got my heart broken, too. Maybe it was by a girl slightly better looking than most of the critics out there are used to, present company excepted. Q: You're married to supermodel Erica Iahn. Is that as tough as it sounds? A: She's in the room, so I can't say. Q: You went to high school with Owen Wilson. Did you ever bump into him in the cafeteria? #wink#
A: He was three years ahead of me, and his brother Luke was one year behind me, so I knew him a little better. Owen was a very big personality. It was an all-boys, smarty-pants private school, and he was this really cool bad boy but also a big-time popular jock. I've got friends who are still good friends with him, so I follow what he does. He's an interesting dude. Q: The Old 97's had a cameo in the Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaughn romantic comedy "The Break-Up." When people recognize you at the airport, how often is it because of that movie?
A: I was so grateful for that only because it validated the Old 97's. We had been going for so long, and even though I feel so young and vital we had just put a best-of album out, and there was this big infusion of kids in the audience after that came out. Also, it sort of validates you to the random people, like the people cutting your hair and stuff. To hear Rhett Miller's music, go to www.myspace.com/rhett miller. **************** P.S. Music I am listening to now ... runs the gamut from Norah Jones "Any Other Day" to Foo Fighters "My Hero" and Velvet Revolver "Slither" I am leaning more towards Velvet Revolver....

I've been obsessed with this song for the last few days. I can't stop listening to it. I love the melody and the lyrics Lyrics: Life is too short to ration out in portions I spend my time as soon as I get, it's gone But I'm in no rush Oh, I can feel a change; I'm becoming alive again I'm in command of my own fate I can depend on destiny, if it's safe Become alive with me Oh dead life, awake Rise from your grave Work your dead job, rent your home sweet homeless It almost killed me and I didn't even notice it Rise from your death Try to notice it Live on the edge song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlDUkHfDWo0
